Long quotes on Pinpre Puran and others[edit]

Hi. I see you have restored the excessively long quotes that I had removed previously. Please take a look at the page titled WP:QUOTE, specifically the section Copyrighted material and fair use. Extensive quoting of individual sources is a violation of copyright and is forbidden on Wikipedia. As such, I am once again removing the material. Please do not restore it. Please note that persistent copyright violators may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Steamroller Assault (talk) 05:24, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Anubhab91 (talk) 14:53, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Sorry, I could not understand that you have deleted it. Actually, the "long quotes" was in Premendra Mitra when I first read it. When I saw that quote is missing, I thought that I somehow deleted it. Then I restored it( I kept a copy of the earlier article, as I needed some data on Mitra). I have created a new article, Pinpre Puran from taking information on Mitra,as I have not sufficient time right at the moment. I shall edit it soon.

Stop uploads[edit]

Please stop uploading images without proper licence information. Indeed, stop uploading cartoons as these are almost certainly copyright. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:41, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

I have blocked you briefly. Your response to the above message was to immediately upload two more images without proper details. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:16, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

  • Anubhab91 (talk) 11:51, 16 August 2011 (UTC) The uploads were started before I read your message...I'm sorry for that.

I have unblocked you. But if I see any more incorrect uploads, I will block you again - and for longer. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:24, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Userbox And Sandbox[edit]

I have replied to the email you sent me about userbox and sandbox. If you have further doubt, you can post it here or ask me in my talk page! Thanks! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 15:55, 16 August 2011 (UTC) Anubhab91 (talk) 08:22, 20 August 2011 (UTC)Thanks Titoda.... Now, please tell me how can I make a category to be included in the sub-categories of another category. Also, please tell me what is it: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image_filter_referendum/Translation

Speedy deletion nomination of Mitra O Ghosh[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mitra O Ghosh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Night of the Big Wind talk 21:11, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Anubhab91 (talk) 14:44, 6 December 2011 (UTC)Hi, I'm extremely sorry to reply so lately. You see, Ananda Publishers and Dey's Publishing exist here. Mitra O Ghosh is a big publication house of Kolkata as the previous names are. I tried to make the article unbiased, not to promote the company- rather to share my knowledge with my friends. Trust me, I'm nohow connected with that. Besides, this company has the largest collection of classical Bengali authors. I first noticed your message after the article has been deleted (I was out of station that time) and so I decided not to reply it. I'm now replying as it may seem that I was actually promoting it. If you allow me, I shall try once again to write it with more information (with reliable sources). Once again, I swear you that I had no intention to advertise.

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In Contortion, you recently added links to the disambiguation pages Olympic and Split (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:28, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Be careful[edit]

You should change ambiguous links only when they can point at a relevant article instead. It was not good, for example, to change pan in Radio controlled aircraft to point at some random similar word in the article Bluetooth profile which has nothing to do with the use of the word "pan" in the aircraft article. Similarly, the plain English word "kit" doesn't need to be disambiguated and pointing it at KIT (disambiguation) is at best a waste of the reader's time. --Wtshymanski (talk) 20:54, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for this valuable suggestion. Anubhab91 (talk) 13:51, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Both in machine learning and in Weka (machine learning) your edits were incorrect. In machine learning, obviously cluster analysis is meant (see section 7.7, clustering, in the article). As for Weka, you didn't resolve a disambiguation, but removed a redirect notice (WEKA redirects to the machine learning toolkit, not to other uses of "Weka", see also the link in the article Weka itself). Please don't overdo it. Fix disambiguation links only when you are sure that you point them to the right article -- and that they should actually be replaced. Thank you. --Chire (talk) 15:43, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for this suggestion, I shall keep your suggestion in mind. Anubhab91 (talk) 18:26, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

MOTDs (This space for rent)[edit]

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 16:15, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

March 2012 MOTD's award for helping the project in a difficult time[edit]

MOTD trial finale.png The MOTD Barnstar
The MOTD Barnstar is awarded to Anubhab91 for his invaluable contribution to our project, which was experiencing a period of extreme scarcity. Thank you from Motto of the day. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:00, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Additional note: Hoping that you feel comfortable with us, we hope and desire that you will want to continue contributing to our/your project. I personally think that if many of us contribute, then about ten minutes per week, by reviewing the existing nominations, and eventually adding new nominations, should be more than enough to get the project going! Once again, thank you from your Motto of the day. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:00, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of উইকিপিডিয়া:অনুবাদ[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on উইকিপিডিয়া:অনুবাদ, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 15:20, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Thank you, I wrongly wrote it on English Wikipedia, instead of Bengali, which I opened in another tab in my browser. Anyway, delete this article. Anubhab91 (talk) 15:23, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Good articles (Participant Clean-Up)[edit]

Hello, you are receiving this message because you are currently a participant of WikiProject Good articles. Since the creation of the WikiProject, over 200 user's have joined to help review good article nominations and contribute to other sections of the WikiProject. Over the years, several of these users have stopped reviewing articles and/or have become inactive with the project but are still listed as participates. In order to improve communications with other participants and get newsletters sent out faster (newsletters will begin to be sent out monthly starting in October) all participants that are no longer active with the WikiProject will be removed from the participants list.

If you are still interested in being a participant for this WikiProject, please sign your user name here and please help review some articles so we can reduce the size of the backlog. If you are no longer interested, you do not need to sign your name anywhere and your name will be removed from the participants list after the deadline. Remember that even if you are not interested at this time, you can always re-add your name to the list whenever you want. The deadline to sign your name on the page above will be November 1, 2012. Thank-you. 13:21, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Update for: WikiProject Good articles (Participant Clean-Up)[edit]

Sorry for having to send out a second message but a user has brought to my attention that a point mentioned in the first message should be clarified. WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre[edit]

Good Article Recruitment - Completion Award.png
Hello! Now, some of you might be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with, the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Disambiguation link notification for September 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Battle of Plassey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nadia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest[edit]

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 01:44, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

GAN December 2013 Backlog Drive[edit]

Symbol support vote.svg
Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days!

In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00.

At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or leave a message on the Backlog Drive talk page. And remember, there are less than 4 days before the drive starts!--EdwardsBot (talk) 03:21, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

March 2014 GAN Backlog Drive[edit]

It's that time again! Starting on March 1, there will be another GAN Backlog Drive! There will be several changes compared to previous drives:

  • This drive will introduce a new component to it; a point system. In a nutshell, older nominations are worth more points than newer nominations. The top 3 participants who have the points will be awarded the Golden, Silver, or Bronze Wikipedia Puzzle Piece Trophy, respectively.
  • Unlike the December 2013 Backlog Drive, earning an additional barnstar if you reached your goal has been removed.
  • The allowance to have insufficient reviews has been lowered to 2 before being disqualified.
  • An exception to the rule that all reviews must be completed before the deadline has been created.

Also, something that I thought I would share with all of you is that we raised $20.88 (USD) for the WMF in the December 2013 drive. It may not sound like a lot but considering that that was raised just because we reviewed articles, I would say that's pretty good! With that success, pledges can be made for the upcoming drive if you wish.

More info regarding the drive and full descriptions regarding the changes to this drive can be found on the the drive page. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on the drive talk page.

I look forward to your participation and hope that because of it, some day the backlog will be gone!

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014[edit]

Today's motto...

Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum.
("Therefore whoever desires peace, let him prepare for war.")

Nominate one today!

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
