Me and SuggestBot[edit]

To answer your's question on my talk page, Ben, I am an middle-aged mountaineer and have written many biographies of climbers. I love the High Sierra including Yosemite, Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. It seems that the bot looks more at recent edit history as opposed to long term history. If you look up a bit on my talk page, you will see some discussion about my drive through Yosemite's high country in early January on the Tioga Road that is usually closed and buried deep in snow at this time of year. I took a lot of pictures, and just last weekend, I uploaded many of them to Wikimedia Commons and added some to Yosemite related articles on Wikipedia. So now, briefly, the bot thinks that I am the resident Yosemite expert. There are far worse pigeonholes to be stuffed into. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:08, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The goal of this "course" is to evaluate contemporary solutions to important problems in BEN's life, with special attention given to historical context (BEN's life) and anticipated future directions (in BEN's career). The course provides an understanding of what problems BEN is currently working on, an evaluation of how far he's come, and speculation about what he will do next.



BEN's article interests include:

  1. Strong versus Weak biological and genetic claims
  2. Big Five Aspect Scale (development, validation, etc.)
  3. 10 subdomains of the BFAS and what they mean (could be included in 2)
  4. Self-monitoring (improve and expand existing article)
  5. Conscientiousness trait (improve and expand existing article)
The first article topic is very very broad (would it also include animals?) and highly controversial and would be the most challenging. There are a number of related articles: Nature versus nurture, Personality genetics, Gene–environment interaction, Gene-environment correlation, psychological nativism, see {{Human genetics}}. There already exists a Big Five personality traits which is the Big Five Aspect Scale, you could cleanup/expand the article. Self-monitoring and Conscientiousness could also be largely expanded. I'm seriously considering the BFAS topic. The BFAS refers to the Big Five Aspect Scale, which is a specific scale used to measure the Big Five personality traits. The article would describe the development and use of the scale. The BFAS, in particular, is different from other scales in that it measures two subdomains (referred to as 'aspects') of each of the five traits. The proposed article would describe these subdomains, how they were derived and what they mean. The article would link to existing pages for descriptions of each of the traits. BFAS is workable. From my understanding, (I've read up on it) is that its essentially a personality test (see also Category:Personality tests. The topic (BFAS) can be made into an article, just be aware that you don't have to redefine each of the five traits. Collaboration?[edit]

Smallman12q pointed me in your direction, as I created the Facet (psychology) page recently as part of a class project. I'm not sure if collaboration would work for this, as I wanted this page to be a home for various definitions of facets in psychology. But...feel free to alter my section on the Big Five (I've yet to detail the info from Soto & John's work with the CPI!) and link to your Big Five facet scale article. After reading about this, I definitely see the need for an article that's specific to the Big Five facets (as there's all sorts of controversy, history, and alternate definitions in the literature). Also...feel free to check out some of my references! I'm not sure if the AB5C would fit, but you might want to look at some circumplex models of the Big Five.
