DYK for Bianca Kronlöf[edit]

Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:03, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

FYI[edit]

Blue Hall was promoted to the prep area, and changes were made to the hook after promotion.

Also, something needs to be done about Blue hall, which redirects to Legislative Assembly of Quebec. Perhaps you could make a disambiguation page for Blue hall? Best, Yoninah (talk) 12:11, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

OK. :)--BabbaQ (talk) 12:12, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

User Page[edit]

You should make yourself a User Page = you will get much respect then. Just start with something and then add more later (i.e. DYKs, Barnstars, who you are, where you are from, what your interests are, etc). --Doug Coldwell (talk) 13:43, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Also put an email address (i.e. Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail) in "preferences".--Doug Coldwell (talk) 21:47, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Latest articles I created[edit]

I put a lot of preparation into these = another article I created.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 22:21, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Great work! And thank you for sharing!--BabbaQ (talk) 22:32, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
May I recommend that you nominate them for DYK. Or atleast articles that you will create in the future, because you are doing a really good job my friend!--BabbaQ (talk) 22:34, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
Most of my articles relate to history of many years ago and sometimes hundreds of years ago. The secret of getting a quality article for potential DYK is to work it out in a sandbox draft first. Pretend it is an article and anticipate all the potential objections and problems = then solve them BEFORE anybody sees them. Work it all out ahead of time BEFORE you make the article live. It generally takes me 2 -4 weeks of preparation to work out articles like these above, done in sandbox drafts. Get all the references, sources, and newspaper clippings ahead of time. ILL books are an example. IPL is another example. Good luck on future articles with these new hints.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 22:51, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
To get an idea what kind of research preparation I do, check out the videos below my picture on my User Page. I do a lot of work up front so there will be little problems when the article becomes live. As you will notice my main research is hard cover books through the I.L.L. system. My second best resource is Internet Public Library. The next best source for good references are the Library of Congress and the Bodleian Library. Notice I have an inline reference (if not 2-3) per sentence on my articles. Here is a front page newspaper article that was written up on my Wikipedia activity in my town here in Ludington, Michigan.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:59, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
My list of Did You Know articles is proof that the above research preparation works well.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:13, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
All my articles I create become DYKs = main motivation for writing it up in the first place, which gives it quality.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:19, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Some get very high views when they become DYKs, like this one, and then are entered into the DYK Hall of Fame STATS. My plague doctor hook received over 44,000 views.
I have had records for the most articles in a DYK hook, here and here and here = which shows the importance of preparation and in depth research.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 13:54, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
Do you see the benefits in doing research in preparation for a quality article, especially a DYK?--Doug Coldwell (talk) 22:28, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
The T-shirt I am wearing Wikipedia sent me. The video I talk about doing 5 articles on reinforced concrete as you know turned out to be a 6-in-1 DYK = six articles in the same hook line. Since there was much research and preparation done for the articles, they turned out to be quality articles (IMHO).--Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:43, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

My latest articles I created are[edit]

Pettakere cave[edit]

Very nicely done. I am not well-versed in speleology nor am I a spelunker but it caught my interest. Yours, Quis separabit? 12:13, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

Looks good. What, however, is "uran"? I presume it is short for uranium. Just wanted to make sure before I fixed it. Quis separabit? 13:05, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
Consider putting in some references from these book sources. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 14:35, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
