AfD nomination of Annette Kawecki[edit]

Annette Kawecki, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Annette Kawecki satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Annette Kawecki and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Annette Kawecki during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:27, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Annette Kawecki[edit]

A tag has been placed on Annette Kawecki requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dhartung | Talk 07:22, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Request help with article Ancient Egypt[edit]

As you are listed as a member of Wikiproject:AncientEgypt, I'd like to recruit your help in reviewing the article Ancient Egypt. The article is listed as top priority in the Wikiproject and as a vital article by the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, but appears to have failed to meet Good Article criteria at its last nomination. The article is in need of some serious attention.

In the past week, I asked for (and got) the article to be semi-protected to protect against the constant barrage of vandalism. This protection lasts for two weeks. I also did a little clean-up, added a map and so on. I would like to see everyone in Wikiproject:AncientEgypt have the chance to add their input to Ancient Egypt, and get the article up to featured status as soon as possible. I believe the article is at least 80% of the way there, and some focused attention will bring it the rest of the way.

The most pressing concerns seem to be the culture/architecture section, and the achievements/unsolved problems sections. Also, the entire article, especially the achievements section, the sources, and external links need to be seriously checked for accuracy. These sections also require a little organization too.

Ancient Egypt ought to be the top priority of Wikiproject:AncientEgypt, and I look forward to working with everyone to get this article cleaned up and hopefully promoted to featured status. Thanks for your help, Jeff Dahl 03:32, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Fake Art[edit]

Thank you for adding the Project Paranormal banner to so many pages, it's good to see some enthusiasm. However, I'm a little concerned that you're adding it to page about things like forged statues which have no actual links to the paranormal, and whose pages make no mention of links.

We've had some problems lately with tanasious editors with strong anti-paranormal feelings and tagging things without an obvious link tends to rile them. If it's not too much trouble, could you please either only add banners to pages that mention the paranormal in either research or popular culture, or add details of the connections in at the same time as you add the banners.

Scottish English[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Scotland wants to use {{User en-sc}} for Scottish English, and I have suggested they follow ISO code to use {{User en-gb-sct}} instead and allow en-sc instead for Seychellois English, per the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 having "sc" Seychelles and ISO 3166-1:GB#BS-only codes having "gb-sct" as Scotland, just like ISO 3166-1:US having "us-ca" for California and {{User en-us-ca}} for California English. Could you please take a look at Wikipedia:User categories for discussion#Scottish English and give your thoughts? Thanks! Taric25 16:27, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I apologize if I'm not going about this the right way, but may I ask how you know so much about Adair County, Kentucky; esp info about William Palmer Jones?

Living persons[edit]

OK. I will remember that. I just remember reading in wikipedia somewhere that, so to prevent possiblity of lawsuits in this area, to list a person as living if the article does not have a reputable source indicating otherwise.

Tamaskan[edit]

I just want to make sure before I put my article up again that you think I have enough referances. We have The Tamaskan Dog Register website, Tamaskan Dog Society of Great Britain website, National Tamaskan Club of America website, The Tamaskan Dog Showing Club at judgedogs.com we have 4 breeders websites in 3 different countries. We also have 2 local newspaper articles, a Tamaskan Brochure (although it is published by the register and has no IBAN no. as it is a brochure not book) as well as the old Tamaskan Breeders guide, a mention in Our Dogs and a profile on dogbreedinfo.com do you think that would be enough or should I leave it a bit longer until we have a bit more positive publicity? Project News
  • The LGBT Portal has once again been revamped and a work rota started. Efforts towards Featured Portal status are slowly coming together.
  • The assessment system has been a great success, we have tagged over 4000 articles! Please tag any LGBT related articles you come across by adding {{LGBTProject | class=}} to the talkpage. Please see the Assessment Department for how to assess an article according to the grading system.
  • The Translation department has changed its focus, to LGBT articles about non-English topics and people on which there may be more information on the relevant foreign Wikipedia. Please add your name if you are fluent in any language other than English.
  • Jumpaclass is picking up slowly, with nine people having entered. With over 2000 stubs we need to improve our article quality. Please sign up and get it going! Challenge another user to see how far you can jump a stub!
  • There is an ongoing discussion about the current LGBT categorisation system here, here, and a little bit here. A special page has now been set up here to deal with this.
  • A Watchlist has been set up to monitor controversial and/or highly vandalised articles. It can also be used for article disputes, just add a note explaining the nature of the dispute.
  • With the influx of so many active members, there is now enough support for a LGBT studies peer review, which may be found here. It's in the beta phase at the moment, so bear with us if we make any mistakes. Feel free to peer review any articles you have been working on.
  • It was agreed this month to start reducing the uses of the Notice board, as many members felt that it was not effective. An open tasks template has been created, bringing together important announcements, FAC/FARs, Peer reviews, XfDs, the COTM, and requested articles. You may desire to watchlist it. A Deletion sorting subpage is also now working to bring together XfDs - this should be bot-driven, but we have not currently tagged enough articles to make this fully automated, so please update the list with any LGBT-related XfDs you come across.

Hi! You proposed that Wikipedia:WikiProject Origin of life and related debates was to be merged with Wikipedia:WikiProject intelligent design. I dispute this. Have I got any notion wrongly?? To emphasize: I'm a christian evolutionist, believing that God used some complex chemistry which is perfectly legal and moral to research. Pretty pissed off by christians defining creationists to be the "only true christians", I dislike being associated by either creationism or intelligent design.
