Matter for the foundation
You are listed as the editor-foundation liason (not sure of your title) and there's an issue for foundation attention at [1] regarding the unauthorized use of the Wikipedia logo on a mirror site. Perhaps you could notify the appropriate people at the foundation regarding the issue? --Jayron32 20:22, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Where is that listed? I'm not the best person for that, so whatever you're reading should probably change. Bastique ☎ call me! 21:44, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- this page lists you as "Volunteer coordinator" under the community section. To be fair, I have no clue what that means, but given that I knew you had a relationship with the foundation, I thought you would be able to forward the message to them. Now that I have since read the job description, yeah, I guess it isn't your job really. But I was really just looking for some way to contact the foundation quickly regarding the matter. --Jayron32 21:52, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- All the pages I have examined at www.thetradewiki.com currently display the same welcome message and no other page text. I haven't seen the site before but based on Google's cache it doesn't appear to be a Wikipedia mirror. The problem is the modified version of the Wikipedia logo. Coupled with the use of MediaWiki (which is of course legal), it can easily make readers think it's affiliated with Wikipedia. It also uses the GFDL-licensed File:Headbg.jpg as background image http://www.thetradewiki.com/skins/monobook/headbg.jpg like Wikipedia in MonoBook http://bits.wikimedia.org/skins-1.5/monobook/headbg.jpg. Hi. Just to say thanks for sorting out the IP edit on my talk page. Much appreciated. Cordless Larry (talk) 14:37, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi there
Was with WMF? I was in the middle of changing jobs and completely self-absorbed, it seems. Please accept my sincere thanks for the help and support you offered me here and on OTRS, you are a stand-up fellow and I salute you. Guy (Help!) 18:42, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, well, the announcement went out at the end of August...thanks for the sentiment, it's been wonderful working with you. I'm still an OTRS admin so we can still have fun together! :) Cary
The Great American Wiknic
Hi there! In the past, you've expressed an interest in local meetups of Wikipedians. Well, here's your chance! On Saturday, June 25, we'll be joining Wikipedians in cities all over the country for the first annual Great American Wiknic -- the picnic that anyone can edit! We'll meet up at a park in SF -- hopefully in the sun -- all other details are still in deliberation!
If this sounds fun, please add your name to the list: Wikipedia:Meetup/San Francisco/Wiknic and add that page to your watchlist. (And of course, feel free to edit that page with your ideas, questions, etc.) I look forward to wiknicking with you! -Pete (talk) 00:24, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Pete, I'm going to be in South Carolina. Thanks. Bastique ☎ call me! 00:33, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
OTRS
Hi Cary,
Would you mind taking a look at this ticket at OTRS. I think your expetise could make this work out properly.
Thanks JodyB talk 19:07, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
- That block has got to be ancient. Feel free to handle it as you see fit. I don't recall it at all. Bastique ☎ call me! 23:57, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
bantu aku
please create WikiBar images contained in id:Pengguna:Erik Evrest/Bak Pasir at Wikipedia Indonesia on the "Usulan Halaman Utama" in the "[date] dalam sejarah" together with the yellow box above it. Many times my experiment did not work all the time.--Erik Evrest (talk) 13:05, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
Silvena Rowe
Hi Bastique, I wonder if you could talk a look at the Silvena Rowe article. I have user:SilvenaRowe complaining of issues with the page (possible BLP violations) I would help more, but it 2 am here. Kind Regards -- Marek.69 talk 00:59, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
Aww :(
I knew I should have made an article on Kyary right away. But I didn't and now you beat me to it. :(
Well, at least I can improve the article. SilverserenC 07:39, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
- By all means, improve it! That's what Wikipedia is about! Bastique ☎ call me! 12:00, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
OTRS as verifiable source
Bastique,
You might be able to answer this question. I swear I can remember that OTRS messages were once citable as sources - am I imagining it?

sockpuppet editing
There is an open WP:SPI case looking at sockpuppet editing primarily on the Johann Hari/ Talk page. As you edited the Johann Hari/Talk page between 2004 and 2011, your input is welcomed. Yonmei (talk) 22:32, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

- Nope, no bot - just little ole' me... I'll try to remember when I'm doing these (I get tons of these as I've done lots of image resizing...just lerned to hit the 'revert' button :) Skier Dude (talk) 04:33, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
Request to create a new page for Mastigiidae
Sir, currently the page Mastigiidae redirects to a single species. There are 3-5 genera in this family however. Cheers. Bruinfan12 (talk) 03:09, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Edited on your user page
Dear Bastique. I removed the steward notice on your user page (see here) as you're not a steward anymore. This removes you from the category too. Trijnstel (talk) 16:15, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
