Table tennis[edit]

Tank you for your contribution to the List of table tennis players article. However only victories on single events should be listed togheter with the name of the player. Therefore I reverted your edit. This decision, detailed in the lead of the article, has been taken within the Table tennis project to keep the list clean. Cialo (talk) 09:36, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Reliability of ESCKaz[edit]

I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. In particular more input is needed from editors which have a high level of experience with relevant guidelines/policies such as Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and who have up until now stayed outside this debate, though all contributions are welcome. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 10:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kiribati records in athletics[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Kiribati records in athletics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Mia (singer)[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Mia (singer) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. mark nutley (talk) 23:50, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship for deletion[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A discussion has begun about whether the article 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SnottyWong express 17:20, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

List[edit]

I made a new list - List of Baltic records in athletics. If you would like, you may help. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:28, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. But why did you remove some events? Pelmeen10 (talk) 19:51, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Because I can't find Latvian or Lithuanian records in that events, so it was impossible to figure out what is Baltic record. All that events is nontraditional. Bearas (talk) 20:03, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

There are also some records that Estonian ones are not known. So I think it is OK to include this kind of records. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:22, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

You can add "Latvian and Lituanian not known" with <!-- --> (or with note), but dont hide the record itself. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:29, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes, 150 m is, but whats the the second you meant? Two miles record is also world record? Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:33, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

4x400 and 5000m walk are also not known for example. Actually Montell 74 agreed with me. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:36, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm right with Pelmeen10. Area records do not depend on the fact that every country of it has done a comparable mark in each discipline. So please let the records stay until maybe someone will find more information to correct it. Please consider that a lot of 'old fashioned' and 'exotic' disciplines (f.e. 300m in/outdoor or 400m hurdles indoor will get more and more prominence because of the meeting's chance to mark records). Thank you. Montell 74 (talk) 16:48, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Good job! That is what is Wikipedia about! Make a start and go further. To Pelmeen: Next time please use first comparable information of wikipedia itself.;-) Keep up! Montell 74 (talk) 17:43, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
"first comparable information of wikipedia itself" - Sorry, I don't understand. But Bearas, could you provide references also. Pelmeen10 (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
I mean, some baltic records you edited wrong (estonian) you could have seen on lithuanian record page before.;-) Montell 74 (talk) 19:54, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
[1] , [2] , [3]
I meant on the records list page. Pelmeen10 (talk) 19:26, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi! Athletes from all nations need to be selected... in some cases there will be more than 3 with a qualifying standard, some may not be in form or be injured. 2011 Summer Universiade[edit]

Why do you think the numbers in the official website are incorrect? I read <!-- --> but I thought it was referring to the numbers that were in the article. Sorry. Jonas kam (talk) 05:01, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Because numbers in that link is not the same as it was declared in official news. For example, national Lithuanian education commission released official rapport that only 90 athletes going to Universiade, while in the match.sz2011.org says 110. --08:12, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 06:10, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Bearas,

In December you received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! The article Aleksandr Kazakevič has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games[edit]

Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Thank you. --LauraHale (talk) 05:02, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Ewelina Saszenko[edit]

You lied to me . " - that is the end of this pointless discussion. She decided to be Saszenko. So that will be. Andrzej19 (talk) 18:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

Hey Bearas

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:36, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is an article about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Matty.007 detagged it as CSD:A7, so running through the motions. PROD, then probably AfD...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 18:12, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 20:25, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
