Welcome![edit]

Hello, Beatlesfan248, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Friedrich Hayek have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!  – S. Information icon Please refrain from changing genres, as you did to The Monster (song), without providing a source and without establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. STATic message me! 19:13, 4 January 2014 (UTC)

Categories[edit]

Please have a look at WP:CATEGORY#Categorizing pages? Specifically, "each categorized page should be placed in all of the most specific categories to which it logically belongs. This means that if a page belongs to a subcategory of C (or a subcategory of a subcategory of C, and so on) then it is not normally placed directly into C." Exceptions are covered here: WP:DUPCAT.

In the case of Paul Ryan Category:Republican Party United States Senators is a sub-category of Category:Republican Party (United States) politicians which is a sub-category of Category:Republican Party (United States) politicians which in turn is a sub-category of Category:Republicans (United States) which in turn is a sub-category of Category:Republican Party (United States) which in turn is a sub-category of Category:Conservative parties in the United States which in turn is a sub-category of Conservatism in the United States.

I hope that makes sense. I made similar mistake early in my editing career, until I learned more about how we use categories from a couple of other editors.- MrX 03:36, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

May 2014[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Binksternet. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Who Can It Be Now? without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!
