Disambiguation link notification for September 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nahlin (yacht), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Falmouth (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

regarding image uploads.[edit]

Hello, regarding your recent flagging of image uploads for deletion, The newspaper images are removed from article and citation added instead.

And regarding other images, I took permission to use images (Images of getting various awards) on Author website www.DrVipin.com by sending him an email and he allowed me to use those images anywhere for article purpose.

Please review and guide me to changes on my part.

UPDATE : Forwarded email with sharing permission of images to permissions-en@wikimedia.org Coolvipcandy (talk) 13:07, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

regarding file edits and permissions.[edit]

Hello,

Recently few images has been flagged by you for not having permissions but an email with permissions to share has been forwarded to permissions-en@wikimedia.org already.

So why still this has happened ??

is there anything missing ?

In case of authentication, you're more than welcome to contact the author of images @ [redacted]

In case of authentication, you're more than welcome to contact the author of images @ contact@drvipin.com

Moreover these are permitted to use by author at following link :

http://drvipin.com/copyright/

Coolvipcandy (talk) 09:58, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

That you have forwarded an email is not evidence of permission. This is added by the OTRS once they have received, examined and verified the permissions and are satisfied that it meets the required standards. The copyright section (when was that added to the website, out of interest?) does not clearly release the images under any license: it states that Dr Brar is the copyright holder and that users may use the images "as is" - this is not a formal release of copyright into the public domain nor is it a release under a free license acceptable by Wikipedia. Please stop removing the maintenance templates from the files until these conditions are met. On a further note, the copyright page has issues - it claims that "All media (Images/Videos/Images) at this website belong to Dr. Vipin Brar and Dr. Vipin Brar allows it to be used anywhere 'as such' without any modifications or editing" but the images clearly include screenshots and copies of news agency materials to which Dr Brar clearly has no claim of copyright. I have serious concerns that Dr Brar is neither the author nor the copyright holder of many of the images on that website. BlackberrySorbet 09:50, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

So guide me what is required. and also tell me that if i clicked some photographs with camera, will that be good ??

Orphaned non-free media (File:Forged passport used by Samantha Lewthwaite.jpeg)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Forged passport used by Samantha Lewthwaite.jpeg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 16:56, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Alma mater[edit]

According to the Oxford definition, Lewthwaite's Alma Mater is the SOAS http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/alma-mater Indiasummer95 (talk) 17:14, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

A term rarely used outside of the United States, and according to this definition usually requires graduation. BlackberrySorbet 17:16, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
OK then. You clearly know better than I. Indiasummer95 (talk) 17:33, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

I beg to differ. Bill Gates is an alumnus of Harvard University in spite of the fact that he did not graduate. Please refer to wikipedia's own entry on alumni that states any former student can be an alumnus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alumnus — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.161.70.159 (talkcontribs) 16:38, 20 October 2013

Ben Gummer[edit]

Thanks for looking over the Ben Gummer article. Please note that the user Over the Orwell is relatively new and so could probably do with a little patience so that they don't simply go away. I'm fairly sure he or she is intelligent enough to realize what the nature of a reliable source is and the increased importance with living people. JASpencer (talk) 22:37, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind if s/he would just read and absorb WP:BALASPS and WP:RS. If there were reliable sources for proportionate criticism of Ben Gummer, I would add the material myself, but he hasn't really attracted that much controversy! Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 22:58, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Gummer's clearly annoyed Over the Orwell, whether that's through something he's said or done or just through party affiliation I can't tell. However it's a new user who is seeing all their edits go down the tubes, they should be coached where they are going wrong. JASpencer (talk) 23:24, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
Let's see if we can thrash this out on Talk:Ben Gummer. I'm happy to look for the criticisms, I'm just doubtful that much will be found. If OtO is willing to engage, we may well be able to find a compromise as well as guide them through RS and UNDUE. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 00:01, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Ton Pattinama[edit]

The article is not unreferenced; please be more careful in future. Regards, GiantSnowman 20:15, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

I disagree. Cheers. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 20:22, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
You are wrong. Cheers. GiantSnowman 20:23, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
And you are wasting my time as well as yours which might be better spent fixing the problem on the page in the first place. Now fuck off away from my talk page and don't come back. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 20:25, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

WE MADE IT![edit]

Thanks very much for getting our article off the ground. I have already told the rest of the choir and they are like kids at Christmas. I have got a few pictures taken by my camera to put on the page and all I need to do at the moment is put on the Twitter link. Obviously any changes you will see so if I go too far in the wrong direction please let me know so I don't have to read and re read 300 pages of how to do this then forget 299 of them.

Thanks again

Your post on ANI[edit]

Hi Blackberry. Sorry to tell you this, since you obviously put some effort into it, but I've removed and suppressed the post you made on WP:ANI just now. The amount of personal information it contained and linked to about another editor was too much, considering that editor's apparent personal situation. I would suggest that you pursue the matter via email with the Arbitration Committee instead, since it involves private information. If you have questions about what happened here, please feel free to email me, and I can give you a more in-depth explanation that way. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 00:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

@Fluffernutter: No, I completely understand, but I'm unsure what exactly to do; should I just repeat the same post in the email? I've never had any dealings with ArbCom before. Thanks. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 01:03, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I think just emailing them what you put on ANI would work. Just make sure you give them the history and the diffs. They can write back to you with any further questions they have about the situation. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 01:09, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
Okay; thanks. Blackberry Sorbet (talkcontribs) 01:10, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
I missed the post but see that all three accounts have now been blocked for whatever reason, they were clearly not around to help. Theroadislong (talk) 09:13, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

undermining[edit]

Wow. I really didn't realize my behavior would be seen as threatening. I guess I'm even less clueful than I'd thought. Genuinely sorry.--Kdtully (talk) 12:35, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
