Hello! Please start new topics at the bottom of this page. I will respond to messages on your talk page. You can e-mail me: booksworm dot wikimedia at gmail dot com.

  • If you need basic editing help, I'll be happy to assist you. However, you may find it quicker to place {{helpme}} on your talk page
  • Try the Wikipedia Bootcamp IRC channel for some friendly advice. If you don't have an IRC-capable programme, try the web-based client.
  • If you need help on problems you are having with Wikipedia, try the Village Pump
  • To report a persistent vandal, use Administrator intervention against vandalism.
  • For knowledge questions (What are the seven wonders of the world? When was Einstein born?) see the Reference desk.
  • For questions about using Wikipedia, again I'm happy to help, but otherwise, see the help desk.

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014[edit]

Today's motto...

I'm walkin' here! I'm walkin' here!

Nominate one today!

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

I was just trying to remove a bad part. "my Butt Forest" should be "Cloud Forest." — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk)

It is not vandalism. It is accurate. Nothing false. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sophie201 (talkcontribs) 13:11, 13 November 2014‎

Your recent editing history at Jonathan Gruber (economist) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Gaijin42 (talk) 18:37, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

I see your opponent was blocked, but edit warring even if you are right, is still an issue. Gaijin42 (talk) 18:37, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
What I was doing was a clear exemption under applicable 3RR policy ("Reverting obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking and adding offensive language."). I disagree with your contention that acting against vandalism is an "issue" --Booksworm Talk? 18:42, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
I don't want to get into a big thing, but adding POV info, even if inappropriate, is not vandalism. your edits were in the right spirit (and I agree with them), but many have been blocked for similar actions (myself included). You have a stronger argument under point 7 of 3rr but even that says to take it to the boards. Gaijin42 (talk) 19:14, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Read before you revert Food irradiation[edit]

It did not fit the structure of the artical, made as few changes as possible to match format. Go ahead and change content to make it better, just dont revert please. (talk) 19:04, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
