[edit] Intellectual giftedness
If you find that the things you've added to a Wikipedia article have been removed, the first thing you should do is to check the talk page (marked "discussion", next to "edit this page") for an explanation. In this case, there is an explanation at Talk:Intellectual giftedness#Multiple_intelligences_perspective. Please read it, and respond to the issues raised there BEFORE adding your text again. Thanks, WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:54, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Look, it takes me less than five seconds to delete your additions, and I can do that every day for the rest of the year if that's what you want. I've outlined on the article's talk page exactly why I think your addition is off-topic. If you want it to stay in the article, then you need to explain why I shouldn't delete it, okay? I'm a reasonable person. Give me your reasons. WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:30, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
The things that we have added are for a project for a class we are taking, this is a group project that 3 of us are working on. It is due in 5 days, after that I don't care and I don't think anyone else will care whether the piece stays or not. I apoligize if the format is off this is not something that came with very clear instructions we tried to follow as best we could. We did not have time to look for someone to help us. Thanks for your patience and understanding.CDEV5170 (talk) 04:15, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note. Most of the recent problems involve typos (primarily missing spaces) and grammar errors (e.g., "Gardner suggest", which should be "Gardner suggests"). The MI stuff today is better: it shows a clearer connection to the actual topic of the article, which is what it really needed.
- If you need help with formatting, just leave a note on the article's talk page. There's no point in trying to learn Wikipedia's more complex formatting systems for a temporary project, and some minor mistakes (like forgetting to close a ref tag) can appear to create huge problems (like half the article becoming invisible to the reader). I'll check this page about once a day, so feel free to leave a note if you have any particular problems.
- It would be helpful if your group could decide which formatting style they like best and apply it consistently. Wikipedia officially does not care what system you use (see WP:Citing sources for common examples), so long as you use one. The article at the moment is a mix of two or three styles. (I suggest picking whichever one you think is the easiest to use.) Good luck with your project! WhatamIdoing (talk) 05:50, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. There are some notes on the talk page that might help if you are going to be doing any more editing before the deadline. (New section at the bottom.) - AdelaMae (t - c - wpn) 07:32, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
