Hi, I've just seen your comment on the above page. I'm currently working, when time permits, through all the samplers I'm aware of, and adopting the convention that to avoid confusion with similarly titled albums, these pages should have the album title followed by "(sampler)". "Fill Your Head With Rock", for example is both a sampler and a 2005 album by Kim Mitchell. I'll be adding redirects & dabs when necessary. Cheers --Rodhullandemu 23:50, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Manchester
It is a nice picture but I think it is maybe a bit dark and isn't really a landmark in Manchester. We have been struggling to choose a pic for the infobox for some time now and the previous one was one I took from the top floor of the Free Trade Hall in my hotel room. I think we should start another discussion about what really says Manchester more than anything. I can take pics anytime as I am in Manchester every day now but I only have a 3.2MP digital camera or a 2MP camera phone. Any thoughts on where would be the greatest place to take a picture in Manchester? └and-rew┘┌talk┐ 16:38, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- Is that image by Aidan taken from a publicly accessable location in Old Trafford? I think if it was landscape it would look pretty nice and would include the City Tower in it though I am not sure if you will be able to see the half painted side from there? I recently stayed in the Piccadilly Jarvis hotel in one of the refurbished rooms on the top floor and had great views of Piccadilly gardens here. License of xkcd comics
Hello Onnaghar, you have uploaded two xkcd comics, Image:The Problem with Wikipedia.png and Image:Wikiprotest.png. Their license is "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5". On the homepage of xkcd however, Randall Munroe releases them under the "Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 2.5" license which is not acceptable for use on Wikipedia, because commercial use is forbidden. The FAQ also explains, that you need a permission for commercial use which is incompatible with free licenses such as CC-BY-2.5. So here's my question: Did you ask for permission about those images and did Randall Munroe really agreed to release them under "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5"? I personally asked him via Email and on the forum of xkcd to release some comics under a less restrictive license, but unfortunately I did not get any response. It'd be great to have some 'real free' xkcd images so that Wikipedias without fair use can also profit (like my german article about xkcd). - I uploaded the Image:The Problem with Wikipedia.png image and released it under the 2.5 license which you mentioned. The other image "WikiProtest" or something, I didn't upload, that was by Mike33. I presumed the license he uploaded the image under was correct, and so I assumed the same license information and details as it. I will contact Mike33 soon, though it seems that he claims to have asked Randall Munroe. You said, you "released" Image:The Problem with Wikipedia.png under the "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5". However, only the author and copyright owner, Randall Munroe can do that. Without his approval, the license does not change from CC-BY-Noncommercial to CC-BY with commercial use permitted. --Church of emacs 19:02, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

If a question is optional, I think it should remain just that. You can't call him rude and unpredictable just because he chooses not to answer it. Asking someone about dinner is not really optional, is it? If you don't answer, then you are ignoring the person, which is rude. But consider it in another light, if I were to say Onnaghar, this is totally optional, but do you mind giving me your opinion on religion? If you didn't answer, I wouldn't consider you rude, nor unpredictable. After all, it was your option to abstain. Perhaps you can see where I was coming from when I inserted my unnecessary sarcasm. And don't let my behavior influence how you vote at RfA. It is much better to have an opinion spark a discussion then to simply stamp another pile-on oppose. - I actually think your argument was fine, just not my cup of tea. Besides, it wasn't your oppose that brought out the jackass in me, it was the entire RfA which was a giant circus. Of course you can buddy! lol. I reverted it because you said that Wales and Scotland are included in the UK. Because they are included, there's no need to add them to the chart section seeing as the UK charts consist of England's, Wales's, Scotland's and Northern Ireland's chart results. If you wanted to add the Republic of Ireland, that'd be fine as it's not included in the UK. Peace,
