Walter Edgar[edit]

When you created the Walter Edgar article a month ago, you indicated that references would be forthcoming. It might be a good idea to provide those now, so that the article will not be deleted as a "biography of a living person without references". Also, statements of opinion, such as "preeminent" require a pinpoint, inline citation. We do need more articles on noteworthy historians, thanks for your efforts. --Bejnar (talk) 18:35, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Duplicate articles which you created[edit]

Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort metropolitan area[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort metropolitan area, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 14:48, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort metropolitan area a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hilton Head Island High School[edit]

Hi Cdamgen. Thank you for creating Hilton Head Island High School. But why did you also create Hilton Head High School? Also, mind to please change the latter into a redirect to the former? It's very bad to have duplicate identical articles on Wikipedia. Please reply by moving this conversation to my talk page; if I reply, I can do the same. Kind regards, —Unforgettableid (talk) 03:29, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

User:BD2412 fixed this. Cdamgen, we thank you for your contributions, but if you want to be an even better Wikipedian, then don't ignore human-being-generated messages on your talk page for a month and a half. Either reply and ask for more help, or reply and say you're too busy, but don't ignore them. Cheers! —Unforgettableid (talk) 23:35, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
