Editing[edit]

Hello, I was assigned to edit the spark ionization page that you worked on. First i wanted to say great job! It was really pleasant to read and easily understood. There was some small edits that thought of: Under the history section you may want to add more information. You could add more information about Dempster and what problem he was trying to solve by creating this instrument (and you should link his name to his page (Arthur Jeffrey Dempster), and cite where you got that information about him). Then if there is information about it uses over the years you can add it here. The last sentence in this section seemed a little discouraging and made the whole page feel useless especially because you used the word obsolete, even though its accurate I would try to use different wording. Everything else was really well written and the only thing is I would add an application section and talk about how spark ionization is used. If there isn't used now a days I would look back at the history and talk about its previous uses.

For the B Class rating

  • 1) No, I think that you might want to add more reference into the page. Things that could help is first in the history section if possible
  • 2) No, This was originally a yes, but without an application section I feel like your missing the explanation behind the purpose of this type of ionization.
  • 3) NO, the article did flow really well with the only exception being the history section.
  • 4) Yes, great job, your an excellent writer.
  • 5) Yes, The picture is good, but is there any real life photos.
  • 6) Yes, as stated earlier the article was really easily understandable.

Importance: As for its importance label of mid, I would have to say that this topic belongs in the high label. This conclusion comes form the fact that in my undergrad i learned about this topic in my general instrumental analysis course, which is the exact criteria that is listed for the high importance label.

Overall good job on the article it is very impressive. Best Regards, Benjamin Haywood (talk) 18:25, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
