Hi there,
I noticed that you deleted an image I uploaded Sovchampagne.jpg. Here's the log entry:

The reason I'm asking for an undelete is because I had this tagged incorrectly. I believe I had a PD-Russia tag up, but it should have been fair use (and of historical significance, also not re-creatable or replacable as it is original art: an advertising poster for champagne from 1953 or so.) - If I recall correctly, the image was being used on a userpage. Fair use images are not permitted on user pages, only in actual articles. If you intend on using the image in a specific article, let me know. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 14:25, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the Deletion of Igor Hiller
Why did you delete the "Igor Hiller" article?
- Another user proposed it for deletion under our WP:PROD procedure. No objection was raised after 5 days, so I deleted it. How can my Alpha Five listing meet your standards?

Changes to Kiss article
Hello, I am curious as to why you changed the edits I made? Your article is great and I salute the work you've done. But as a long time Kiss fan I can say without reservation that you've neglected to properly catagorize the latter end of the unmasked period. The way it's presented, it seems as if kiss unmasked and had a resurgance right up until the reunion. However, this is not the case. The tour for Revenge was not a success and while the album was gold, it was considered a commerical failure. Also, from Alive 3 (another commerical failure), up until the reunion, Kiss was flagging in the mainstream market though they did have some great successes with hardcore fans at the conventions and while sporadically touring. However, there was indeed a decline in the unmasked period compared to the earlier years 83-87.
Secondly, I added information about Kiss not recording in the near future and also that Kissology was to be 10 volumes, a quote right from Mr. Simmons mouth. However these changes were erased too.

- Regarding the decline in the '80s, you are correct. However, when presenting that info we have to include citations backing that up, otherwise it could be considered by others as original research. I actually had that very information in the article a long time ago, but someone else removed it because I didn't cite it properly.
- As far as a new KISS album, if you look later in the article I actually have that mentioned as part of a Paul Stanley quote (2nd to last paragraph), so there's no need to repeat that info. I have not heard the claim that KISSology will be 10 volumes - do you have a link for that? Everything I have read to date says 3 volumes. 10 sounds quite unrealistic; and as we both know Gene often says things that are either untrue or wildly exaggerated. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 14:23, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Image question
Cholmes75, I notice that you contribute to IfD. I've found an image where the uploader claims to have created themselves and is now licensing it under the GFDL. It doesn't appear to be an image that would have been created and uploaded, the file name, Image:80fb71e2858ad2a40e28a26d2ef4dbf8.jpg, is suspicious (that file name just doesn't strike me as one that someone would name an image after creating it) and it's very low-quality. It's only used on the uploader's user page, but I'm worried about a potential copyvio. I'm not sure exactly how to list the image, if it can be listed at all. Could you please have a look? Thank you in advance.

Deletion of CC Filson
You removed my article for CC Filson while I was in the process of editing it, all I did was add images to the article that was already there.
All images are from our corporate historical archives and we own every one of them
Is there something I'm doing that you don't approve of? The article text has been there for some time, why did the entire thing get removed?

- The entire article was a copyright violation of http://www.filson.com/corp/index.jsp?page=aboutus. Wikipedia does not allow copyrighted text to be reprinted here, and articles that blatantly violate copyright (as the C. C. Filson one did) are deleted under our criteria for speedy deletion. Phil McLean Show
Hello,
I was curious about the recent request for the Speedy Deletion of the Phil McLean Show page. I am Familiar with the reasons for speedy deletion and will explain why this page should not be deleted. Below I have listed the 12 criteria for Speedy Deletion and reason why I feel this page should not be deleted.
1. Patent nonsense and gibberish, an unsalvageably incoherent page with no meaningful content. This does not include: poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, vandalism, fictional material, material not in English, badly translated material, implausible theories, or hoaxes.
This page was not completed. The author of this page had full intent of polishing, and updating the page immensely. This page was simple an outline of things to come. The page does not have meaningless content because the Phil McLean Show goes out to an audience of almost 12,000 people and has a large following. The show is also working on becoming syndicated to larger networks in an attempt to branch out to a new network.
2. Test pages (e.g., "Can I really create a page here?").
This is not a test page. The information was placed there purposely and not in an attempt to simply create a page.
3. Pure vandalism, including redirects created during cleanup of page move vandalism.
This page is not vandalism. Those involved in the creation of the page intended in it for no other reason than to inform.
4. Recreation of deleted material. A substantially identical copy, by any title, of a page that was deleted as a result of a discussion in Articles for deletion or another XfD process, unless it was undeleted per the undeletion policy or was recreated in the user space. Before deleting again, the admin should ensure that the material is substantially identical and not merely a new article on the same subject. This clause does not apply if the only prior deletions were speedy or proposed deletions, although in this case, the previous speedy criterion, or other speedy deletion criteria, may apply.
This is the first time this page or a page of similar topics has been created. Therefore this page does not qualify for the 4th criteria for Speedy Deletion.
5. Banned user. Pages created by banned users while they were banned.
I am not a banned user nor have I ever been confronted about disciplinary actions against myself.
6. Housekeeping. Non-controversial maintenance tasks such as temporarily deleting a page in order to merge page histories, performing a non-controversial page move like reversing a redirect, or removing a disambiguation page that only points to a single article.
There are no other pages about this topic therefore the deletion of it should not be for the 6th criteria.
7. Author requests deletion. Any page, for which deletion is requested by the original author, provided the page's only substantial content was added by its author and was mistakenly created. If the author blanks the page, this can be taken as a deletion request.
I did not request that the page be deleted therefore this criteria does not apply.
8. Talk pages of pages that do not exist, unless they contain deletion discussion that isn't logged elsewhere. Subpages (including archive pages) are only deletable under this rule if the corresponding top-level page does not exist. Exceptions to this are user talk pages and talk pages of images on Commons.
This was not a talk page therefore the 8th criterion does not apply.
9. Office Actions. The Wikimedia Foundation office reserves the right to speedily delete a page temporarily in cases of exceptional controversy.
There should not have been anything on this page to cause serious discussion or controversy.
10. Attack pages. Pages that serve no purpose but to disparage their subject or some other entity (e.g., "John Q. Doe is an imbecile"). This includes a biography of a living person that is negative in tone and unsourced, where there is no NPOV version in the history to revert to.
This page was neither a direct nor a non-direct attack on the Phil McLean Show. Therefore the 10th criterion does not apply.
11. Blatant advertising. Pages which exclusively promote a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company, product, group or service as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion: an article that is blatant advertising should have inappropriate content as well. If a page has previously gone through deletion process and was not deleted, it should not be speedily deleted under this criterion.
This page was not created in an attempt to advertise for the Phil McLean Show. It was created as a way to inform the viewers who had requested information about the Phil McLean Show, and the episodes he had done.
12. Blatant copyright infringement which meets these parameters:
* Material was copied from another website which does not have a license compatible with Wikipedia; * There is no non-infringing content in the page history worth saving. * The infringement was introduced at once by a single person rather than created organically on wiki and then copied by another website such as one of the many Wikipedia mirrors. * Uploader does not assert permission (for images: no assertion aside from tags) or fair use, or the assertion is questionable;
None of the information was copied from another website nor was any of the information taken without consent. Because of that the 12th criteria for Speedy Deletion does not apply.

Is there any way that this site can be re-established. There has been atleast three newspapers that have written or commented about the show. There has also been internet streaming of the show. The show has also been nominated for awards. Let me know.

- That link would be what is considered an incidental reference, which doesn't really help. You would need to locate articles from 3rd-party, independent sources that cover the site, not just mention it in some type of 'roundup' article. --cholmes75 (chit chat) 05:38, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. Your deletions of photos

I am not sure if this is the right place to leave my message of requesting not to delete my contribution titled as Péter Szaffkó. I was not even ready with putting up all the data for the article - of course it may be my mistake that I clickeed on save before finishing it. The reason why I think this article should not be deleted is quite simple: Péter Szaffkó is one of the most well-knowned professors in Debrecen Hungary at the University of Debrecen (Hungary's 2nd largest university) where he is a director of the English-American Institute. He taught at the University of Toronto and at the University of Indiana among other institutions. He received many awards, holding positions in organizations and was even awarded with the George Faludy Award for the translation and dissemination of Canadian literary works, 1993. George Faludy was one of the most famous Hungarian poets/writers.
I will try to upload the content again. If possible, please read it through carefully - and maybe since it is Christmas - please do not delete it.
