Wrong email address used on Wilderness.org.au ?[edit]

Hi Chris,

Could it be you filled in the wrong domain extention when providing your email address to received emails from the Wilderness.org.au list? I own the domainname "http://rootsofchange.net/" and you filled in as your email address <chris@rootsofchange.net>. Hence I received your email. Maybe it should have been <chris@rootsofchange.org> or <chris@rootsofchange.au> or <chris@rootsofchange.com> ? I've made this kind of mistake in the past as well.

I didn't alter your details on the Wilderness.org.au website, which I could access via a link in the email sent to me/you.

Hope this message reaches you now.

All the best and keep up the good work.

Ibrahim London, UK

Hi Ibrahim/@Tarpal: thanks. I used to have the email address chris@rootsofchange.net from about 1999 to 2005, but I let it lapse. My plans to do something with the domain never came to anything. Amazing that it's still subscribed to something! Feel free to cancel the subscription.
The hopes I had for a "Roots of Change" site ended up being fulfilled somewhat by Wikipedia and Appropedia. I'm happy to see that someone else has thought of those same words to inspire change! Really nice (and intriguing) to get your message. --Chriswaterguy talk 11:31, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi Chris, Amazing indeed how it went with the domain name rootsofchange.net. Can't remember when I registered it but actually only recently started to use it as I am fading out another site. Before rootsofchange.net used to forward to nomadtribe.net but now it will gradually take over. Maybe later I swap the contents between the sites. Quite a game. Takes a lot of time. Actually abandoning some domain names up for expiry now but a couple, though for now only used as forwarders, I like to keep as long as costs permit. Their names are good finds IMO. Web building (and Internet presence in general) takes a lot of time. Still, some information on one of my ancient and sort of abandoned website still finds readers while what I wrote on my (now willingly disabled) Facebook page has sunk in a pool only accessible by marketing and government surveillance agencies.

Got another story: came on a sailing site across the domainname radicalsailors.org . The site didn't exist so... I bought it :-) Next a guy ends via the sailing site up on my site and next on my boat. We're still in contact. Then I find out the creation of "a website to promote activism afloat" had been discussed years before on some meeting or radicals. I found the guy in Belgium who launched the idea but who didn't have an idea someone had actually done something with the idea. Haven't figured out why the sailing school had put the (then dead) link on their website, claiming they were part of the Radical Sailors Network. Well, in the end it already got us somewhere.

I did log into your Wilderness.org.au account using the link the site sent me and disabled the newsletter subscription. Didn't alter the (unknown to me) password so if you want you can update your email address there.

All the best and take good care. Ibrahim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarpal (talkcontribs) 02:36, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
