Shoko B'Sakit moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Shoko B'Sakit, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Nomination of Shoko B'Sakit for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Shoko B'Sakit is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shoko B'Sakit until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Yoninah (talk) 17:49, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli product articles[edit]

Hi, I see you've been editing for several years now but perhaps only recently started altering pages that I have on my watchlist. I think your Israeli product articles would stand up to scrutiny better if they were written from a broader perspective rather than a narrow one. As I mentioned at the AFD for Shoko B'Sakit, Tnuva makes quite a few Shoko products. Taking a wider view and writing an article that covers the whole subject of Shoko would work better than focusing on a single product. Also, there is absolutely no place for strings of citations. One or two citations is quite enough. Uncontroversial material in the lead should not be cited at all. Piling up so many citations makes it look like you're trying to prove something, when in fact you are using trivial mentions instead of articles or books dealing exclusively with the subject. If I can be of any help in developing new articles, please drop me a line. Yoninah (talk) 23:40, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate your input, and I would be happy to write my Israeli product stickers from a broader perspective. To be honest, I was not aware of the other Shoko products I had only tried/heard of their Shoko B'sakit. I had only heard about their other Shoko products due to the link you provided, which I’d like to incorporate into the article as the external link.
Maybe it would be better for the article to be moved to an article about the Shoko brand, with a section about the Shoko bag, similar to the articles Yoo-hoo, Nesquik etc. Then it could be written from a broader perspective and could cover the whole subject of the brand. I apologize for the string of citations, I realize now that it wasn’t necessary. I plan on moving some of the citations to different sections of the article (some could go to a "Controversy" section for instance). I would like to apologize for any prior disagreements, and thank your for your work creating many very important articles, especially those about Jewish and Israeli topics (which as you can tell, are of particular interest to me); and also for your offer of being of any help in developing new articles. I understand you are probably very busy on here and IRL, but I would appreciate any help you could give in improving this article. I have noticed there are a lot of Israeli brands, particularly food brands that are popular and don’t have English wiki pages (Mitz Paz and Ta'amti for example), and if you have any interest in developing new articles for these sorts of things let me know. Also, if you can find Hebrew-language citations if needed, that could help as well because I don’t have a Hebrew keyboard so it’s difficult for me to find Hebrew sources which likely have more info pertaining to these articles than English language sources. and if I need help with another one I’ll drop you a line. :)Yallayallaletsgo (talk) 06:55, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I do have a Hebrew-language keyboard, and I find that the Hebrew press has so much more detailed information about Israeli subjects than the Western press. I understand Hebrew on a rudimentary level and rely on Google Translate to help me along, so it does take me more time to research in Hebrew, but I'm willing to help. The article on Shoko on the Hebrew Wikipedia talks about it as a generic concept; Tara also makes it. We even have a free image of an assembly line at File:יוטבתה - קו ייצור שוקו.jpg. Perhaps the article should be moved back to draftspace where we could work out a new outline and fill it in? Best, Yoninah (talk) 11:22, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Klik brand logo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Klik brand logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Yogurt dishes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Original research in food articles[edit]

Hey, I've come across your contributions, and I'm a bit concerned that you're basing articles off of your own knowledge or opinions about subjects, rather than what is written in reliable sources. Wikipedia's policies on original research are fairly strict: all of the information that we add to articles must be drawn from reliable sources. I'm particularly concerned with some of the content of your starting draft at Mohn (which is now at Poppy seed filling): you identify Ashkenazi Jews as the creators of this dish, despite citing a source, The Encyclopedia of Jewish Food, which clearly states that sweet poppy seed fillings have been used extensively by a variety of different European ethnic groups and makes no claim of a Jewish origin for the dish (while still extensively documenting its use in Jewish cuisine). A further error is that this draft of the article claimed that "mohn" was the name of the filling. Across the sources you cited, mohn is identified as the word for poppy (most prominently in the same Encyclopedia as before), not necessarily for the filling. I grew up referring to the poppy seed hamantaschen as mon hamantaschen, and I'm guessing that you likely did as well, but our personal knowledge is secondary to what we can support with reliable sources (and I think we can make the reasonable inference that while mohn hamantaschen pragmatically refers to the filling, the word mohn still just means poppy absent a context). As a final note, be advised that while recipes and recipe books may be reliable for instructions of how to cook a dish, they are very rarely reliable sources for claims about the food's history. Preferred sources include history books, academic papers, and cultural-interest articles published in reliable magazines or newspapers. signed, Rosguill talk 21:19, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can't just do a "cut-and-paste" move[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Gondi (dumpling) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Gondi (in January 2020). Additionally, you did the same cutting of content for Babka (cake) and Babka (in October 2019). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.

"Cut-and-paste" moves break the history of pages, and are not recommended. Additionally, there was no discussion on either dish was the primary topic for the term. Requests to move pages to be the primary topic are best handled through Wikipedia:Requested moves. I understand the dish Babka being the primary topic for that name, but definitely not for the dumpling dish Gondi. If you had started a Requested move proposal, other users would have brought up that the dumpling dish isn't the primary topic compared to the entire group of people and language that also have the name (which would be an accurate argument, as pageviews for the dumpling dish are absolutely dwarfed in proportion to the pageviews of the people group or language). All I said was that NatGertler has been warned many times on Wikipedia and (Redacted), and he has continue to WP:Editstalk and WP:Harass (I am referring to the WP statute here I am not making any legal allegations), and the end of my edit summary was regarding the advice so graciously given to me by Vanamonde93 to communicate to the proper channels on Wikipedia, Arbcom and Trust and Safety, as per Vanamonde93 recommendation, which I am in the process of doing.Yallayallaletsgo (talk) 01:09, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yallayallaletsgo, I have removed the edit summary that Nableezy linked to, as well as a portion of your comment above, because it did make a statement about another editor regarding something that cannot be verified through any evidence that is on Wikipedia itself. Statements like these are inappropriate to post publicly because they cannot be verified by the Wikipedia editing community for their authenticity. One relevant policy is WP:NPA, which states that Serious accusations require serious evidence, usually in the form of diffs and links. Like Vanamonde93, I would encourage you to follow those private avenues, and I'm glad to hear that you are in the process of doing so. I would ask that you please do not post this content on Wikipedia again. Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 03:18, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

lynching[edit]

I will be making a report to arbitration enforcement regarding disruptive editing if you do not self-revert at the template and the attack article on the completely unsourced lynching claims. nableezy - 01:03, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If I remove all references to lynching both on the linked article and on the Nablus attack article, will that help improve the latter article? Is there anything I can do to make the article better?Yallayallaletsgo (talk)<

Breakfast task force[edit]

Hi Yallayallaletsgo,

I'm leaving this message to let you know that ten years ago you created a Breakfast task force at Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink. That page has been turned into a redirect as it has not been edited in ten years and a separate wikiproject was made a task force of said project today. As you were the only member, I'm here letting you know that the task force exists at Wikipedia:WikiProject Food and drink/Breakfast task force in case you're interested. Many thanks, estar8806 (talk) 18:21, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
