Hi -- your edit was reasonable, I just wanted to point out that standard practice is to use spaces rather than underscores in wikilinks, that is Central nervous system rather than Central_nervous_system. Both ways work, but the form with spaces is preferred. Regards, Looie496 (talk) 04:50, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bookmato requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ttonyb (talk) 05:37, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rattler (dog actor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No claim to notability other than this solitary appearance in a movie. No other activity found since.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File copyright problem with File:Kigurumi.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kigurumi.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 01:45, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

February 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, a number of your recent file uploads, such as File:Kigurumi.jpg, had missing or false information regarding their source and copyright status. Please note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Images and other media must only be uploaded if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our image use policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Kigurumi.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kigurumi.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Adjectivals and demonyms for cities, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page San Jose (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:Hurricane Sandy Fire, Breezy Point, Queens, NYC.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hurricane Sandy Fire, Breezy Point, Queens, NYC.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (talk • contribs) 00:44, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Venus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vesper (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Innatism into Psychological nativism. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 16:08, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jeff Ball (composer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. TheChronium 11:03, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jeff Ball (composer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Jeff_Ball_(composer). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

@TheChronium: It was nice of you to leave a contest this speedy deletion button, but 1.5 hours is awfully speedy. As such, I had no opportunity to press it.
The deletion discussion page for this article 10 years ago cited lack of notability (WP:COMPOSER) and lack of reliable sources. A lot has changed in 10 years. I believe that the subject matches the requirements of WP:COMPOSER (Specifically #4, as cited in my article edit). I also added several citations from reliable sources.
You cited section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. However, recreating a previously deleted page is not forbidden. Specifically, because notability status has changed, re-creation is allowed. Please pay special attention to this quote from section G4: "It excludes pages that are not substantially identical to the deleted version, pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies."
You also cited section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. There is nothing unambiguous about it. As I described below, if my pov was not neutral, I will attempt to fix that in the my next attempt. Stating that my article edit is "unambiguous advertising or promotion" seems irresponsible. Unambiguous means obvious, clear, or undebatable. It was not. Pay special attention to this quote from section G11: "If a subject is notable and the content could plausibly be replaced with text written from a neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion."
Please also pay special attention to item 4 (notability) of Non-criteria for speedy deletion: "Articles that seem to have obviously non-notable subjects are eligible for speedy deletion only if the article does not give a credible indication of why the subject might be important or significant."
I also suggest you take a look at How to prevent overly-eager speedy deletion. ----Cowlinator (talk) 01:47, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021[edit]

Information icon

Hello Cowlinator. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Jeff Ball (composer), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cowlinator. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cowlinator|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. TheChronium 11:10, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@TheChronium: Hi TheChronium. You are mistaken. I am not being directly nor indirectly compensated for my edits.
I would understand if you wanted to claim non-npov for my edits. I can certainly try to be more neutral in my next attempt. It hardly seems fair, however, for you to just slap a Uw-paid1 on me without any citation of evidence to support it, and assume that the burden of proof falls on me. The Uw-paid1 template contains an "additional text" field. Perhaps you could have used that to cite a single reason for your claim.
I am willing to change the article to meet any npov or other requirements needed.
Happy 5 month anniversary on becoming a Wikipedia editor, by the way. ----Cowlinator (talk) 01:47, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Revenant Hill moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Revenant Hill, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello, Cowlinator. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Revenant Hill, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 08:04, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Revenant Hill[edit]

Hello, Cowlinator. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Revenant Hill".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 07:13, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
