Hi, thanks for your message. Apologies for the confusion regarding your edit to Land Banking. While you were fixing the comma use, it appears you inadvertently removed a letter from a word. That's what made me undo your edit. Many times, people "playing around" on Wikipedia will do subtle things like that, so when I saw the letter drop, I assumed it was one more of those. Hey, I don't think my contribution is not constructive. People used to post controversial things about the celebs, which happened in their professional and personal life. If they can post so what about my whole info. He is so active & famous that his parody is also getting famous because of him only. I don't find anything wrong in this. Even this is not controversial. Hi User:Homespun33, sorry I've been away for a few weeks so I could not get back to you sooner. I had to look through the background of your question, since I don't recall having any involvement there. It seems that a person's social network presence is not something that is appropriate to include in their article, unless their whole reason for having an article in the first place stems from that. Take Ashton Kutcher, for example. At one point I believe he had the record for the most Twitter followers of any user (or was the most active twitterer, something like that), yet this is not mentioned in his article, as it is not really relevant. So while your edit was obviously made with good intentions, it was just not the kind of thing the Wikipedia community has decided belongs in an article. I hope this helps! Hi again User:Homespun33! The issue here is that a person's Twitter activities are not considered "encyclopedic" by the Wikipedia community, unless the whole reason for even having an article is related to Twitter. These decisions come about as a result of discussion that forms a consensus, so I would be out of place adding it back myself as you suggest. I see you asked about this already on the article's talk page, which is the correct place to discuss inclusion in that article, though unfortunately nobody else seems to want to respond. Repeatedly adding it back after several others have said it doesn't belong is not the way to go, though. Now, the External Links policy does seem to imply that in the External Links section of the page, you may include a link to his official account, but discussion of his followers and parody accounts would not be appropriate there, but rather just a link. explaining sizes of viruses in introductory article

I agree that nanometers is a bit daunting in an introductory article, but I think we should find a better way to explain sizes of viruses than saying they are around 1/100 the size of bacteria, because it's not clear whether we are talking volume or linear dimensions, and both bacteria and viruses come in a variety of shapes, some quite elongated, so even their linear size is rather ambiguous. There is a nice chart comparing sizes of molecules, viruses, bacteria, and eukaryotic cells at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Relative_scale.svg, but alas it would not be directly suitable for an introductory article, because of its logarithmic scale. Further down, the picture of the HIV viruses on a lymphocyte says better than a thousand words how much smaller viruses are than eukaryotic cells. Maybe we could say something like viruses are around 10 to 100 times smaller than bacteria in linear dimensions and 1000 to 10,000 times smaller than the cells of higher organisms.CharlesHBennett (talk) 12:17, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

• Hello Minecraftracer16, yes I did notice that, but saying what web site you pulled the file from is not the same as properly licensing the file. Meaning: just because you say where you got it, that still makes it a copyright violation - you're just confirming it by telling us where you got it. Except in a very few cases, you must own the picture you upload here, usually meaning you took it yourself. Just copying from a web site is not allowed if that site owns the copyright to it. • I understand you are new, and are trying to be a good editor, and I'm trying to help. Do these 2 things for the next month until you get the hang of how it works around here:
• 1: Don't create any new articles. So far today, all of the ones have been duplicates of existing articles. Use the search box for articles that you like, and when it returns the results, make edits to sections in there. The Atom 3.5R, for example. As you said, there's no real info on the R in there, so edit a section for that, giving the same kind of information that's in the other sections of the article. I'll even create the sub-section so it will be in the right place.
• 2: Don't add or upload any pictures, unless you yourself 100% no BS, took the picture yourself. Copyright law is a very complicated thing that many people here, even long term editors, don't fully understand. Because of this, its best to start out with only pictures from your camera or phone.

I see that you've got much enthusiasm for performance cars, and would love for you to improve the article here. Just do those 2 things above and you shouldn't run into any problems around policy. Electric Wombat (talk) 19:46, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

@Lumoshi: No problem, especially since you stopped as soon as you saw the notice about it. If you want to officially request deletion of the page ("whatever" probably won't be a sufficient reason), you can put {{db-author}} in place of what you have on there now. The page creator can request this, provided nobody else has made substantive adds to it. It will be up to the deleting admin to see if that condition has been met. Stuff like this you can summon an admin for the way you did, but if you come across stuff that is more directed at a person, or involves personal information, you can also contact an admin willing to consider redaction requests by picking someone recently active from Category:Wikipedia_administrators_willing_to_handle_RevisionDelete_requests like myself, too. Hello, doing my usual patrolling and came across This Page, which appears to be 2 people, using the same account, having a conversation in Tagalog. Chunks are periodically deleted, so see the full history. I've not encountered this sort of thing, so am not sure how to handle it (tags, warnings, and so on), though I'm pretty sure this sort of thing is frowned upon. Please advise, thanks in advance! • @Djphrost: No, you specifically cited New Statesman as your source for that section, which just as specifically claims copyright to it. Naming the source doesn't allow verbatim use of the content. To your point, yes Center for Research & Globalization grants permission to use "Original Global Research articles". The thing is, this one is not an original article from them. Look on the page on their own site. It specifically states there "It was first published on April 17, 2000 in the New Statesman." So again, it is sourced to New Statesman, which asserts copyright, and all sources you provide lead back there. If you really want that material in the article, then take that material and put it in your own words. You can use the article as a source for the ideas expressed, just put it in your own words. Battle of the Shaer gas field

I would like to ask for your help on this issue. I am simply trying to stick to Wikipedia policy on neutrality, editing according to sources, and stopping edits based on online videos and Original Research. In the Reuters source, the military is reported to have recaptured the field (win for them), but the ISIS spokesman also claims they achieved their goal, which was to capture the 15 tanks. So, per the Reuters source, both sides claim achieving their goals. Per WP policy we should present both sides POV. Problem now here is user Potato1 is claiming ISIS did not capture the tanks based on liveleak videos and photos, where he COUNTED them. That in itself is a gross violation of WP policy on using online videos as sources and conducting Original Research. I tried to explain this to him, but he kept talking about the videos and photos and also saying the goal of the battle was to just simply capture the field, which is contrary to what the sources say and once again unsourced OR on his part. I tried explaining to him that per Wikipedia's policy its not up to us to decide who wins or who doesn't win based on our personal POV what's a victory (strictly prohibited OR). He ignored this. As for user Marcel Banisto, he says An encyclopedia does not show two opinions as outcome which is absolutely contrary to WP policy on editing from a neutral standpoint and per the sources. He also did not violate WP: Civility really, but was bordeline with his comments Stop this nonsense. Also, I would like to point out that it seems the account Marcel Banisto is a single-purpose account that has been only making edits (only 5) to this one article, and mostly reverting my edit. Also, he has made similar language as Potato1 of the goal of a battle being only capturing territory, so that raised some suspicion on my part of him being a sockpupet, but I can not be sure. In any case, I tried talking to both of them, pointing to WP: policy on this issue, but they refuse to talk and continue reverting me. What would you suggest? • @EkoGraf: - Reading the source given, I'm not sure "both sides claim victory" is supported. All the source says for sure is that the Syrians re-took the field, so I've modified the Outcome to say only that. The rest, about equipment destroyed/captured, etc., is better fleshed out in the article. In the context of the infobox, all that is germane is the re-taking of the field. ISIS says they didn't want to stay, that their goal was other, and so on, but to me that doesn't stand up as a claim of victory.
