Open letter concerning block of user Alkclark[edit]

Below is a copy of the email I sent to admins concerning Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Alkclark. I am requesting that the user be unblocked and allowed to edit Wikipedia based on the reasoning below. If anything else is needed please feel free to contact me at the email address indicated below. I am also going to amend this request into also stating that User: Wasted Time R needs to be checked out. His/her actions are vindicative at this point. He first begins by notifying users of sockpupperty and then continues to leave comments on articles stating they are victims as well. This is really sad, "there is nothing worse than a fool with a cause". Why does he care so much? I don't understand why this user feels threaten to the point where he/she has become so passionate about this. You made your case so move on, meddling only proves that you are being deceptive.

Hello. I am sending you this email as I am not able to respond on your talk page. I logged into Wiki today and noticed the sockpuppet cased added onto my talkpage concerning Alkclark. I am asking you to unblock this user and he/she is an innocent party in this matter. This IP address is for a business center (4 or 5 computers) in a apt complex. Cable and Internet comes pre-installed in some apartments so it may be the same IP address as well, I am not sure. I was doing research on a project sometime around late April/May and went onto Wikipedia and saw new messages (i was not used to Wikipedia at that time) and saw warning on the IP page. I was curious and looked into the history and saw the User name: Alkclark. I laughed because I thought it was a friend/neighbor of mine (whose name is Alfred Kevin Clark). I created the account just to follow him around persay. When the arguments between other people started, I agreed with him simply because I felt that I knew him. I begin to act as a incognito third party supporter to agree with his opinion in both discussions and edits. I also created the KM*hearts*MC to further do this. As I was made aware of this block, I knocked on my neighbor's door and asked him if he knew he was block from wikipedia. He looked at me confused and wonder what I was talking about. I thought he was kidding with me and just acting dumb. I looked in his home and he doesn't own a computer nor does use the business center (as he says). And this is the reason why I am sending you this message. I fully admit that I am both dancefloor_royalty and KM*hearts*MC and I created these accounts to deceive the users of Wikipedia to agree with the discussions of Alkclark, whom I assumed was a good friend of mine. This was a mistake on my behalf and I feel that Alkclark should not be penalized for my something of my personal amusement. I will post this open letter onto my talk page in hopes that this will become seen by many eyes. If there is any additional stuff that you need, please do not hesitate to email me at jaysonmc85@yahoo.com. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 04:19, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concesting the block[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am using this template so that admins will see this. I have already emailed the admins associated with this case but I want to cover all bases. This request is not to unblock my account but to unblock User:Alkclark. I cannot leave messages on his talk page or any other editors. My reasoning is given above. I apologize to both Wikipedia and Alkclark as this is a result of a game that I was playing. If anything else is needed, contact me at the email address mentioned above. I am also asking that both Dancefloor_royalty and KM*hearts*MC accounts be deleted (yet remain blocked) so that they are no longer associated with Alkclark

Decline reason:

As this request is not to unblock you, this is the wrong place to request this. — JPG-GR (talk) 07:05, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Then may I ask where is the proper place as I am unable to contact anyone beyond this talk page? Dancefloor royalty (talk) 08:03, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser results[edit]

If any admins come here to review this unblock request, please take a look at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Alkclark. There is a related unblock discussion at User talk:Alkclark. The original SSP case was WP:Suspected sock puppets/Alkclark. Checkuser confirmed all the socks that were asserted in the SSP complaint. EdJohnston (talk) 05:12, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please explain why you added this here? Not trying to come off rude just uncertain. I see that you were notified by User:Wasted Time R, who appears to be so presistant in this matter. Very sad and disappointing. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 05:38, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the admin who submitted the checkuser request. EdJohnston (talk) 05:51, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then again, what is the purpose of the statement? I already provided a link to the case which links to your checkpoint case. Looking at previous unblock cases, this has not been done before (your checkpoint addition), which is why this comes off as suspicious in my eyes. Nothing out of this whole ordeal is adding up right. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 05:56, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would assume that he wanted to make sure that they didn't just go to the SSP page and miss the confirmation that you abused multiple accounts. The more good information people are aware of, the better the decisions they make. Templarion (talk) 06:40, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I am sure that is the intention but because I did not see this elsewhere (on other unblock appeals) I felt suspicious. Thank you for clearing that up Dancefloor royalty (talk) 08:04, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Slparoividbk.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Slparoividbk.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 13:23, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Leannwww2.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Leannwww2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 00:55, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Kyliefever 2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kyliefever 2.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 18:33, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
