Kenshin[edit]

As I return to my house in February 1st from holidays Ill add references for Himura Kenshin. I have been writing the article for Sagara Sanosuke and Myojin Yahiko in my notebook to see if I can reduce its long length. As soon as I return from holidays I ll write it in my sandbox. I would like to ask you two things: First, how can I make a sandbox? and second, can you check it? Well, see you.~Tintor2User talk:Tintor2o 15:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I left something in Talk:Himura Kenshin. Please check it.Tintor2 (talk) 9:21, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, first off, a personal sandbox is just a subpage of your own user page. To create one is like creating a new article; just create "User:Tintor2/Sandbox" or "User talk:Tintor2/Sandbox" (you can either extend it from you user page or talk page)
You don't even have to name it Sandbox, e.g. "User:Tintor2/This is my writing section". Or if you just want it to be temporary for creating a single article, you can name it User talk:Tintor2/Sagara Sanosuke draft or User talk:Tintor2/Myojin Yahiko draft, since those are the articles you're planning to fix. Just as long the article starts with "User:Tintor2" or "User talk:Tintor2".
Afterwards, if you want to delete the subpage, just replace the info on the page with the template {{Db-userreq}} in order for someone to speedily delete the subpage. For more information on creating a subpage go here: Wikipedia:Subpages.
Second, what did you want me to check? DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 07:32, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For the article of Himura Kenshin it would be perfect if we use a picture of the ougi, do you have one? See you.Tintor2 (talk) 18:39, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this image is the best I can find of him performing his technique. It's not too great on the quality, but it looks just fine in thumbnail form. It's just Kenshin sucking in Shishio Makoto after the first strike of Amakakeru Ryū.
By the way, nice work on the article. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 04:16, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I used the Sasuke Uchiha as an example for the changes. I ll see later images work.Tintor2 (talk) 10:07, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have combined two images of the Amaka, (long name...) and edited in the article. Please check it.Tintor2 (talk) 15:49, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I need to ask you something. Do you know the birth dates and ages of the ruroken characters. I think they all appear in the Kenshin Kaden but I only found the ones of Kenshin, Yahiko and Kaoru. I only need the ones of the characters that have their articles. If you have them can you tell me the dates and the pages of the respective characters. Thanks.

Apart from that the Kenshin article was nominated to GA but we still have to wait for the nomination. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 22:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Battosai[edit]

Hello, I wanted to ask you something, what does "Hitokiri Battosai" exactly mean? We need to edit "literally" in the article and I only know what do those words mean by each other (hitokiri=man slayer, batto=unsheathe, sai=purify). Thanks.Tintor2 (talkedits) 01:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since "Hitokiri Battōsai" is a title given to Kenshin, I don't suggest writing it's literal meaning, as it'll change it's general meaning. Also, it is actually two separate titles: you already know that hitokiri's basic translation is "man slayer (assassin)"; on the other hand, the literal meaning of the kanji in Battōsai would differ from what the word actually refers to; which is that, the "Battōsai" is just another title for Kenshin to further establish that he has mastered battōjutsu (I think this was mentioned early on in the manga - around chapters .....10-15...I only remember him explaining it during his fight with that other hitokiri - Ah! It was so long ago >.< - if you could find that exact chapter, you could use that as a ref to the meaning of "Hitokiri Battōsai"). In that regard, I think that a sentence explaining what "Hitokiri Battōsai" means seems more fitting than a literal meaning of the kanji; and Hitokiri Battōsai is basically just the title given to Kenshin when he achieved his status as the legendary assassin, who, besides being renowned for being the best assassin during the war, is also renowned for his mastery of battōjutsu "in all its forms". <-- Around those lines.
Hope that helped. And congrats on the GA status. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 04:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We need to make it like this: "Hitokiri Battōsai" (斬り抜刀斎, lit. "translation"). If there is no literally translation we should put a reference explaining what does battosai mean.Tintor2 (talkedits) 00:46, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know, I'm saying that I advise that you don't use this: "Hitokiri Battōsai" (斬り抜刀斎, lit. "translation") - because it's literal translation would not help define the word Battōsai. You're just trying to solve this issue right? Well, writing how he earned the title "Battōsai" in a sentence would better explain it. Or you could just do either one of these:
(near the first mention of Hitokiri Battōsai)
When he arrives in Tokyo, Kenshin meets a young woman named Kamiya Kaoru who offers him to live in her dojo despite finding out Kenshin was the "Battōsai" (抜刀斎), the hitokiri who has mastered battōjutsu.
or
(in the second mention of Hitokiri Battōsai)
Within the first six months of his career, he kills over 100 people; that, combined with his reputation of having mastered battōjutsu, he eventually became known as the "Hitokiri Battōsai".
Either one of those would solve that issue.... DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 07:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to bother you but there is another question: is Kenshin a samurai? Because it has to be decided if he will or wont be added to fictional samurais. I never heard kenshin was a samurai, something lik that was only mentioned in volume 25. Its a bit confusing so we need adivice. Thanks.Tintor2 (talkedits) 00:10, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In technical terms, yes, I would most likely consider him to be a samurai (though I have a 2-5% doubt >.<). Though, they don't mention him to be one in the series, he is a hitokiri, who are actually samurais. The four real, original hitokiri were samurais, and even the actual person who Kenshin is based on is a samurai. And Kenshin did serve lords, who eventually became central figures in the government he helps build. You could probably categorize him as one, and if anyone thinks otherwise, they would have to state a reason besides "they never mentioned him to be one", cause that's not exactly a good reason to think he's not. Macron issues[edit]

Well, I'm still not familiar when to add macrons, so I tend to just add them when an official English translation is unavailable, but I'm curious as to whether the following should be macronned:

梁山泊 - "Ryouzanpaku" or "Ryōzanpaku"
風林寺 - "Fuurinji" or "Fūrinji"
岬越寺 - "Kouetsuji" or "Kōetsuji"

Those are from the List of Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi characters article, and someone changed them to the unmacronned versions, so I thought I should be sure before reverting it (or not). If you're unsure, is there someone else that could help with it? Thanks for the help in advance. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 05:42, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, those three should have the macrons. I've taken the liberty of re-fixing them, along with some other changes. TangentCube, Dialogues 06:24, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

I forgot to tell you. Thanks for the help with all my question! ^_^Tintor2 (talk) 23:42, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Samurai or not?[edit]

There is a discussion back here on whether or not we should categorize Kenshin as a samurai. Please share your thoughts on the subject. Regards, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some facts about Reborn![edit]

Hi, its been a long time. There are somethings that the article of this series need and I couldnt find them, do you know who writes the reborn! novels? it needs to be added. Also, do you if there is any part where Akira Amano explains some facts of creation of any character or the series, if so it may be a lot of helpful. I could download a reborn! databook called vongola 777 but its in Japanese. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 00:42, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My bad for the extremely late reply. Just been a bit busy. Anyways, Akira Amano also wrote the Reborn! light novels, which I've now added accordingly into the article. Also, to my knowledge, Amano has yet to reveal any information on the characters' creation, development, etc. The databook is just a recollection of characters stats, short stories, and prior events in the series. By the way, thanks for changing the volumes list's wikitable; I've been meaning to do that for SO long - now I have one more thing to cross off my to-do list XD. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 04:49, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I saw that in the book Vongola 77, there is a pilot chapter 1 with many differences from the chapter that appeared in the shonen jump and the tankouboun. Maybe there are author comments to add to the article. Also, in the pages 48-49 of Vongola 77 there are a collection of drafts of some characters. Is that conception info? About the future selfs of the characters they are no big differences, like a kid Goku to a an adult Goku or the grown-up Naruto characters. Unless there no bug difs its not necessary to divide the plot in section. Also, there is a section about Chrome in the list of characters, I was thinking that there is no reason to join them since its like having a character relationship section. Also, if you are planning to make Mukuro Rokudo GA, it would be good idea to trim a bit the plot and delete the Chrome section from the article, some facts about her can be explained in plot-personality-abiities. Well, see you.--Tintor2 (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Granado Espada image[edit]

Hi, I noticed the Coimbra screenshot on the Granado Espada article that you uploaded was deleted because some moron vandalised the article and it was unlinked for 7 days. (If I got your name wrong sorry). Just a heads up in case you want to upload and relink it, thanks. :) {Caliah (talk) 18:26, 26 June 2008 (UTC)}[reply]

samurai or not?[edit]

I just happened to be browsing threw different wikipedia entries when I saw a question as to if Kenshin is a samurai and just thought if your statement was true and he was a samurai technically if he's a "wanderer" then he can no longer be classified as a samurai but would instead be a ronin which is a master less samurai if he no longer serves a feudal lord if I remember correctly although it may not be a feudal lord but something similar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.50.108 (talk) 04:32, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Been away, so my bad for the really late reply. Regarding your question on whether or not Kenshin is a samurai: Yes, technically he still is. You said it yourself, he's a ronin, which is a wandering, masterless samurai, so though they don't refer to him as being a samurai (as far I remember), he is one nonetheless. Since the story continually called him a ronin, he can be considered to be a samurai. Of course, I'm just being technical. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 07:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're finally back?[edit]

Are you finally coming back? It would be a great big help if you did. The anime articles need your professionalism. Myominane (talk) 05:47, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My vacation lasted longer than I expected, but I'm glad to be back. ^_^ However, I'm going to be off-again-on-again for a while due to work.
But you seem to have been doing great without me, especially your bold removal of all those relationship sections in the Reborn! character articles, which I am greatly indebted to you for XD. It'd be great working with you again. And maybe we could work on reformatting all those character articles to make it similar to Mukuro's article. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 06:12, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You should thank Tintor2. I saw his removal of the relationships section on the Tsuna Sawada article and thought all the Reborn related articles should follow suit. No one opposed the decision to do that, so I thought it was okay. The Mukuro article you created really does look better than the others. It would be a pleasure to work with you on improving the Reborn articles. :) Myominane (talk) 22:01, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reborn! character lists[edit]

I was planning on merging the vongola and Millefiore Families in the main list. I was working here. You are welcome to work if you want. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 01:38, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections to there being no need for the separate Vongola and Millefiore family articles, but I do have to stress that, even with trimming, the main characters list would become 70-90 kilobytes long, especially once other information like reception and merchandise are added (most notably the references, which will significantly add to its length). I propose that it be split into the main list and an antagonist list (similar to the Naruto list), the latter of which would contain the Kokuyo, Varia, and Millefiore - groups that consist of characters who have sufficient enough information (even when trimmed down), and can thus support their own article (with out-of-universe information, like reception and merchandise, included of course, though I still can't find creation information; don't have the character book anymore either). Oh, and despite their current allegiance, the former two are included in there as per WP:WAF. DarkAngel █▀▀007▄▄█ 07:58, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Viz Reborn! volumes[edit]

I'm curious as to whether you have access or possess Viz's versions of the Reborn! volumes, specifically the 9th volume. I ask this because I want to know Viz's names for the skills (and the Rebuke bullet). If you don't, that's fine. I'm just curious. DarkAngel 007 04:30, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I own the first eight volumes of Viz's Reborn!. It is currently 1am right now, but I can have access to the 9th volume later today providing that my local bookstore has gotten the October shipment of Viz's lineup. I probably won't be able to resist buying it. I did notice some changes, one in particular: Kokuyo was changed to Kuroyo. I'll have to get back to you about the Rebuke Bullet later today, and feel free to ask me about any other changes in Viz's edition that you're wondering about if you want. Myominane (talk) 06:13, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Well, regarding v9: how bout the chapter titles (which you could change yourself is you want) and Mukuro's techniques. I saw somewhere that it was called "Six Wheels of Hell", so I'm wondering about how they translated the paths/realms, as well as the name of his bullet. Also, if they named Tsuna's "Hyper Intuition". That's all I can think of for now. I plan to change Kokuyo into Kuroyo once the character list if refitted. DarkAngel 007 04:59, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I haven't responded back in a while. I still haven't gotten the ninth volume yet. Truthfully, last week when I told you I was going to go search, I did, but they did not have it in stock yet. I'm not able to drive yet, so I haven't been able to freely go to any other bookstores, or the one I went to last week. When I finally do purchase the ninth volume, I'll give you the info you need. Just giving you an update on my end. Myominane (talk) 05:34, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've finally acquired v9 a month later. First off is Mukuro's techniques. His six skills are covered as "the Six Paths of Rebirth". The six realms are in the order: Naraka, Preta, Animal, Asura, Human, and Deva. The Possession Bullet is still the same. Tsuna's Rebuke Bullet is now called the Criticism Shot. It's pretty ambiguous for the "Hyper Intuition". In the volume, Lancia and Reborn mention it as "Blood of the Vongola" which fits with the name of the volume. Reborn is also quoted as saying "In Tsuna's case it releases his powers of perception, powers peculiar to the Vongola lineage. It's a kind of super intuition". That's all of it. Sorry it took so long. Myominane (talk) 22:19, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reborn! creation[edit]

I found this interview with Akira Amano where she says how she created the manga. Apparently it comes from the radio program, do you from which? Here there is more info but its pretty unreliable.Tintor2 (talk) 01:22, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I can't find the interview in general, but I have a rough estimation of when that took place - around October 2007. I tried to rifle through the netradio site but I couldn't find that interview, but from the link you provided, the only thing I could pick out about creation was about a pairing which her assistants helped in the screentone, but which pair of characters isn't revealed in the interview. I did find other info when I followed more links to different parts of the interview though - how she had fun writing/drawing Longchamp; how the manga is primarily aimed towards girls and she tends to cater to them in the series; she tries to put in enough action for the boys, and how male fanmail provides her with the best feedback concerning fights; how she got the idea of the mafia-theme and Dying Will bullet; Tsuna and Gokudera's relationship. This is mostly creation/development for the series as a whole though. Still, a short character creation section can probably be made now though, but referencing is going to be difficult since the original interview is hard to find and Wikipedia likes to avoid links to blogs.
I could only get a rough Google translation of the second link since it was in French, but if it is reliable, it'd be pretty useful. DarkAngel 007 05:40, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The second source I gave you is pretty unreliable since it was posted by a fan. In the vongola 77 book there are two pages showing drafts of the characters but its in Japanese. I ll try to upload it in a website to show it to you. By the way, I did some trimming in Mukuro and I have to say it looks pretty good the article. Maybe you could nominate to GA; since the author never posted info of his creation there wont be any problem in the review. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 19:19, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I added summaries to the 21 volumes of the manga. Since Im still studying English the grammar needs some fixes. The summaries for the first 7 volumes were probably the hardest since most of their chapters are autoconclusive stories and it was hard make the paragraphs flow. Feel free to make any change.Tintor2 (talk) 01:19, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was never really one to nominate articles (I think I have rejection issues ;] ), but if you think it's good enough, you can go ahead and do so. And I can't really translate something directly from kanji to English so great, but I'll try to find someone who can. Meanwhile, I'm going to start working on the character list article. DarkAngel 007 06:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here you have.Tintor2 (talk) 02:00, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to some comments the Reborn! summaries are good, but they need a little Copy-edit to be easier to understand and due to possible grammar issues. By the way, good work with the characters list. Its amazing how it improved.Tintor2 (talk) 22:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm pretty sure the summaries are grammatically correct, but I'm guessing the issue is mostly due to the first few volume summaries. You were right that they're pretty hard to make into a coherent paragraph due to the randomness of the storyline. I could try to make them more coherent, but I've been a bit busy lately, so my bad if it takes a while. -.- And you were a great help with the characters' list; thanks for letting me use your Sandbox too. ^_^ DarkAngel 007 08:18, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I found List of Linebarrels of Iron episodes in the category of unassessed anime and manga articles (and rated it B-Class). Impressive work for a series of (so far) only three episodes. Good job! -- Goodraise (talk) 05:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!! I'm trying to make Spanish Shining Tears X Wind Wikipedia Page[edit]

Hi!! I'm Nicole. I'm Spanish, so sorry for my mistakes ^^U I'm trying to make Shining Tears X Wind Spanish version and I'd like to use this image [1] that you upload. But I'm new here and I don't know what I have to do to make a link to your file. Can you help me, please???

Thank you. Bye!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicolestewart11 (talkcontribs) 18:26, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My bad for the late reply. Regarding your request about the image: I don't think it's possible to directly link images from the English wiki to other language wikis. Unfortunately, the Spanish wiki only links images from Wikipedia Commons, which does not allow copyrighted images. So, I hate to be the one to say this, but you probably will not be able to use that image in the Spanish version of article. DarkAngel 007 07:14, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Few questions[edit]

There is something I have been wondering; is the name of the Tsuna Sawada article okay? Shouldnt it be Tsunayoshi Sawada or Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada? By the way, I think the article would need to replace the infobox image to show more the head of Tsuna.Tintor2 (talk) 17:29, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also thought that at first (I proposed a move a while back, but apparently, I was the only participating editor at the time). While I was waiting for a reply, however, I ended up reading WP:COMMONAME and realized "Tsuna Sawada" is most likely the best name for the article, since that is what he is most commonly referred to as (and not just in the Japanese versions, but in VIZ's English version as well). So, as long as the article starts out as Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada, the article name basically complies with Wikipedia's standards. As for the infobox image, I'll try to find one that shows more of his characteristics. →DarkAngel007 06:42, 9 May 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Reborn! images[edit]

Nice. By the way, is there any image with the future Hibari using those spikes technique? It could replace the future Hibari image from his article, and change it to abilities.Tintor2 (talk) 16:14, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, did you think of merging the antagonists list with the other list. I guess its a bit strange to have Spanner and Irie on antagonists since they joined the Vongola. The Varia are also becoming more neutral, especially Squalo. Other Arcobaleno like Verde and Skull seem to be very minor right now. Also, do you know what is that VS poll that came in chapter 244?Tintor2 (talk) 01:53, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I started working in Lambo (Reborn!), since I found various reviews talking about him. However, I am in trouble with the images: since the 15 year old is very recurring I thought of adding picture featuring this and the child Lambo, so that the character outline section could use an image from the 25 year old one. However, I cannot find any image featuring both Lambo. Do you know anyone? Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 23:01, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
