Hi[edit]

Hi; nobody is on AIM, so may I ask a favor? May you click on this link: WebCT and see if anything loads? Thanks. — Deckiller 09:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Good, it's not just me :) Looks like the entire thing is down. I wonder if that means....no readings? I'll have time to check later this morning before class, but it'll be annoying to be unprepared. Thanks again. — Deckiller 09:55, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dominican Republic[edit]

Im not an expert here but looking into the available sources I can't find a single one about the creation of a Neiba province in the Dominican Republic. I also can not find a source about the delegates added here [1] and here [2]. So I will have a look at this users edits, revert if I find unsourced and unverifiable information and ask him to give sources for further such edits. If he keeps on editing in this way the intervention of an administrator may be necessary. I would appriciate if we could work together to solve this problem. Thank you--VirtualDelight 18:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Didnt see on your userpage that you are an admin here yourself. As the administrative intervention allready is done let my now, if necessary, how I can help out cleaning up this users contributions, which at first glance are quite a mess, without getting in the way of your cleanup. I see, great work, could'nt have done it so fast. I'll take the articles on my watchlist. Thank's.--VirtualDelight 20:29, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your nice message. I've come to this articles reverting some odd vandalism, but as I have now downloaded the report on the census 2002 with 2664 pages I think I will use this rich source to slowly update the information in related articles. As the next census will be in some years, I guess there is plenty of time to do so. Happy editing! VirtualDelight 19:50, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work, but a question: what's the ethnic breakdown? I assume there are some Poles, as you link to the article on Czech Poles and it's in Zaolzie, but it's not made explicit. I see here that there are over 5,000 Poles in Karviná, but I wonder if data for Fryštát alone are available. Biruitorul 22:38, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Guideline for Wikipedia[edit]

Hola, you might be interested in participating in this discussion to consent on a new proposed Wikipedia guideline for diacritics which basically says the following:

  • Diacritics should only be used in an article's title, if it can be shown that the word is routinely used in that way, with diacritics, in common usage. This means in reliable English sources, such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, or articles in major English-language newspapers.
  • If the word is routinely listed in reliable English sources without diacritics, then the Wikipedia article should follow that method for the article title, though the diacritics version should be given in the initial paragraph of the article as suggested in Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English).
  • If it is not clear what "common usage" is, then the general Wikipedia guideline is to avoid use of diacritics in article titles.

It's at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (standard letters with diacritics). Adiós, Rosa 23:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Czesc :) I agree...I'm a bit worried it might get approved as decisions on the Wikipedia are reached by concensus. I don't fully understand why do these native English speakers react so negatively to the use of foreign terms, that attitude is so outdated. I remember that the Spanish language in the past used a lot of Hispanized terms like Guillermo Shakespeare and Benito Espinosa, but that was in my parents' time and now that attitude is completely re-evaluated and native terms are favored whenever possible.
BTW, were you able to notice that someone in the discussion page of that proposal even made a motion for Polish votes to be "discounted"? lolRosa 02:01, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics[edit]

Original lyrics[1] English translation

Płyniesz, Olzo, po dolinie,
||You flow, the Olza, along the valley Płyniesz, jak przed laty,
||You flow, like years ago Takie same na twym brzegu
||There, on your shore, same Kwitną wiosną kwiaty.
||Flowers bloom in the spring

A twe wody w swoim biegu,
||And your waters, along the course Się nie zamąciły;
||Have not gotten stirred I tak samo lśnią się w słońcu,
||And they still shine in the sun Jak się dawniej lśniły.
||As they used to long ago

Ale ludzie w życiu swojem
||But the people in their lives Zmienili się bardzo;
||Have changed a lot Zwyczajami, wiarą przodków
||With their customs, faith of their forefathers Ledwie że nie gardzą.
||Now, they almost disdain them

I dąb z dębem na twym brzegu,
||And oak trees on your shore Jak szumiał tak szumi;
||Rustle as they used to Lecz wnuk starą mowę dziadów
||Alas, a grandson hardly understands Ledwie że rozumie.
||The language of his grandparents

Na twym brzegu dawnym śpiewem
||On your shore, with an ancient song Słowik się odzywa;
||A nightingale starts singing A dziś śliczne pieśni nasze
||But hardly anyone today Ledwie że kto śpiewa!
||Wants to sing our songs

Jordan w ziemi Chananejskiej,
||The Jordan in the Holy Land Święte ma znaczenie:
||Is a holy river W jego wodach Izraela
||In its waters the nation of Israel Lud brał oczyszczenie.
||Would purify

Więc z modlitwą uklęknąłem
||So, with a prayer I genuflected W pokorze przed Panem:
||Humbly before the Lord Byś się stała, Olzo, takim
||Asking for the Olza I dla nas Jordanem!
||To become our Jordan

A tak kiedyś - gdy nad falą
||And one day, over a wave Wiosną wiatr zawieje,
||The spring wind will blow Wnuk usłyszy w fal twych szumie
||A grandson will hear in the hum of the waves Przodków swoich dzieje,
||Ancient stories of your forefathers

I usiędzie na twym brzegu
||And he will sit by your shore dumać nad przeszłością -
||To muse about the past I żyć będzie dla swej ziemi
||And he will live for his land Czynem i miłością!
||With love and deeds

Delayed re[edit]

Thank you; highly interesting. I come back here and find your page plastered with song lyrics! Anyway, I'll let you pick one (or none, or more) of my latest articles for DYK: 1, 2, 3. Let me also make a small request of you: I've turned this into this; I know Slovak isn't Czech, but since I don't know of any Slovaks here, would you kindly look over my attempt at translating it into English? Thanks for your help. Biruitorul 06:27, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I went through and made a few changes (and I put in for one DYK - we'll see, though they usually make it). I also made a couple of templates: this one should be fairly straightforward, but this one might need a review. In fact I think it would be helpful if we could get this list to replace this one, which is not nearly as helpful. (Also this is a nice template - note that we are lacking in articles on Czechoslovak constitutions; sk.wiki has short ones on the 1920 and 1948 ones.) So if you feel like translating some of this material, or know someone who can, that would be nice; I can fix the grammar.
Let me offer one guess as to why Czech Poles still identify as Czechs in this day of (often EU-imposed) minority-friendly legislation and atmosphere. Perhaps people like to be in the majority. In a country where ~95% of people are Czech, and <1% are Polish, it's always nicer to belong to the much bigger group and really feel like an insider. And Poles can do that because they're not too different from Czechs. In fact let me offer a couple of analogies from Romania. First there are the Roma/Gypsies, who are officially 2.5% but unofficially around 15%, meaning that many have declared as Romanian, even though in appearance quite a few are quite distinct from Romanians (given that they originate in India). Second there are the Aromanians, who, although distinct, often find themselves more at ease within the Romanian group. For instance Gigi Becali, an Aromanian, is a strong Romanian nationalist (as is, for that matter, Varujan Vosganian, an Armenian), while other Aromanians have contributed in their own way to the building of the Romanian nation (people like Emanoil Gojdu or Andrei Şaguna). This situation might be akin to that of the Moravians (or the Montenegrins - my guess is that we'll see many of the 30% who declared as Serbs in 2003 go back to declaring as Montenegrin at the next census). On the other hand, minorities that do have a better chance of resisting assimilation are those that are compact, fairly numerous, quite different from the majority, and have a history of hostility to them. A good example would be the Hungarians of Romania and of Slovakia. Biruitorul 06:54, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo. I have deleted sentence "Also all bishops were Polish to date." which is incorrect. Bishop Volný and bishop Piętak are both Czechs.Qasinka 07:36, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Darwinku,
Czeski Cieszyn to raczej ewenement, i zbór Na Niwach jedną z ostatnich wysp, gdzie zdecydowana większość narodowo uświadomionych Polaków isnieje.
--Qasinka 12:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
--Qasinka 20:19, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Czechoslovak x Czechoslovakian[edit]

The only variety of the adjective I met before I started editing Wikipedia was "Czechoslovak". Here I met "Czechoslovakian", too, but noticed that some editors were removing the -ian ending (see eg. the history of "Czechoslovakian koruna". In the article on Czechoslovakia I read this note, but now I have noticed that it is not there anymore.

Therefore I looked the word up in several dictionaries. Anglicko-český a česko-anglický slovník by Ivan Poldauf et al, SPN Praha 1990, uses only the version "Czechoslovak" in the English-Czech part, while the Czech-English part says "Czechoslovak(ian)". Velký česko-anglický slovník by Josef Fronek (from Glasgow University), LEDA Praha 2000, lists both versions, the one without ending on the first place. Velký anglicko-český slovník by Karel Hais and Břetislav Hodek lists both versions too ("Czechoslovak" is first, but here it is just due to the alphabetical order). Cambridge International Dictionary of English, 1996, lists just "Czechoslovakian".

Google seems to prefer "Czechoslovak" slightly (1,950,000 hits) in comparison with "Czechoslovakian" (1,370,000 hits). If it searches just Wikipedia, it gives 1,300 hits for "Czechoslovak" and 1,320 hits for "Czechoslovakian".

So, it seems that both versions are correct (unlike e.g. my summary here) and used. However, because google gives slightly more hits with the non-ending version, and because there is a clear connection with Slovakia and its adjective Slovak, I would prefer to write "Czechoslovak". Jan.Kamenicek 17:06, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Darwinek, just to let you know that I have made your two speedy noms part of a full nomination along with all the other '-ian' categories at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 February 21#People from Czechoslovakia. Thanks, mattbr30 19:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geobox for Regions[edit]

Chapter One[edit]

Actually, that's the next one I was planning to create. I've already posted an info about its development on the Geobox main page and started creating it but … it seems most fields would be the same ones as in the Geobox Town so I might as well just tweak that one to be usable for regions too. Probably the only missing field is subdivisons (+ their type and number). Any idea what other fields should be there?

I suppose you've noticed the towns I added for the Pilsen Region, I have no particular interest in that region it was just the one I chose for trying out the new Geobox as it not only missed any sort of Infoboxes but mostly the articles themselves (rather than overriding articles for a region with more existing Infoboxes).

A sorry, že raději píšu anglicky ale na anglické Wikipedii mi to přijde slušnější, obzvláště při tom, co tu někteří naši soukmenovci vyvádějí (třeba: Talk:Karlovy Vary). – Caroig 22:37, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Geobox Region is up and running. It has more or less similar fields as Geobox Town with one new feature: folding subdivison section. It is still rather beta so please use it rather for testing purposes on limited number of pages.
As of your ideas:
  • Color settings - I'm against. Technically, it's very easy to implement but why? One of the Geobox series aims is to be consistent. One feature (set of features) should have one color, brown: mountains, ranges and potentianally other, blue: rivers etc. It is something that has been largely discussed over and over again on many Wikipedia pages (esp. with navigation boxes). As of the color I chose, it's not the final one, I usually use similar hue of color that appears in the location map and a color that would be easily distinguishible from other Geoboxes (I tried perhaps 50 colors). I guess this way, especially with the Czech "Small Districts" one doesn't need special page for the small district but you can simply put a second (Geobox Region) template into an article on the town/city (see Nýřany).
  • As of ISO codes, I don't think there needs to be a dedicated field, there are now four generic code fields which could easily used. I guess the template should have specific fields only for features which can likely be used for most regions, ISO codes are set for the highest level of national regions only. The same applies for licence codes etc.
  • Polititians in senate etc., again, is that something to be used in most templates or rather a handfull? There are four free fields that can be used for that purpose.
  • Economic figures. Definitely. I haven't thought of that so this version doesn't have them but once I identify those that are applicable for a large number of template I'll put them in.
Before creating any template I usually checked other existing ones to see which fields are commonly used and those where the ones I included in the templates. Hope you find Geobox Region useful and please tell me about any bugs it contains I'm sure they'll be many. – Caroig 17:20, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chapter Two[edit]

I neither like nor dislike the current color, it was just one which was way different from other Geoboxes. The greenish you suggest is too similar to geobox Protected Area. (I kinda like the corresponding color in maps and geobox header, but that's not a priority.)

I see you've already edited the misleading data in Legend, thanks. As you might have guessed I just copied the legend from Geobox Town, added new fields and forgot to change those talking about towns.

Map first, if I didn't screw up something, there should be a switch map_first which will get the map being displayed first, this is a feature present in other Geoboxes so should be here too.

Chapter Three[edit]

I didn't express myself clearly with the map_first switch, sorry for that. It acts only as a switch, if it is present in the template and any value is assigned to it (might be just 1, yes, true or anything) the map assigned to map is used. See Midtjylland/Sandbox. It would help me if you discover any bug or encouter any other problem to create a "sandboxed" version of that page so that I could sort the roblem out more quickly.

As of those colors, it is still my intention to have them color distinguished (as are e.g. the Taxoboxes). There seem to be a trend on Wikipedia in which it seems it is more a sandbox for editors rather than being a compendium for readers. So many pages now start with sometimes more maintance tag which discourage the reader from reading the article at all. The coherent style of Geoboxes should help the reader orientate. They always find the country where the subject lies in the same place etc. See e.g. Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, the different colors in Geoboxes help you to quickly find out what sort of information each Geobox contains. I'd like the colors to differatiate between various topics. I'm not very happy with the current salmonish color but I haven't come upon any better. FYI: I added a temporary field called simply color, you can added to any gegion template and try various colors, but it's definitelly not going to be in the final version.

BTW, the template wouldn't accept the special map from Granma Province but I'm looking for a way how to make it possible as it would solve another issue I see. – Caroig 20:25, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chapter Four[edit]

So you've noticed. The HTML + CSS code for that map is kinda buggy, I tried to sort it out, anyway, it needs to be pretty large to be of any use and thus it would make the Geobox too wide. A few notes on the use of Geoboxes:

  • There are dedicated fields for notes (be them references or whatever) for most fields whose name's simply field_note. I'm personally opposed to this style of rererences generally, I prefer those for Harvard style as they enable citing references in a separate section at the end of the article to having them scattered all across the article body.
  • There are additional _round fields which enable to define the rounding precision for unit conversions (it looks somewhat better when both units have the same decimal precision)
  • There's also the category field which should be used for the region type … it helps the reader tell apart what the actual name of the region is and what the region category name is.
  • U can put the region subdivions to the Geobox too.

Apart from the _note issue, take these as recommendations only, it would be better if the Geoboxes are used in a consistent way. – Caroig 23:23, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chapter five - Suggestion[edit]

Hi there. If I understand correctly you would like a second folding section, like the one where the Little Districts are listed in e.g. Moravian-Sielsian Region? Well, technically it wouldn't be a problem, I'm just not sure whether this wouldn't be too much. Do the subdivions in Poland exist paralelly or are they just subdivisons within subdivisons? Put you direct me at an article/articles where these Polish subdivisons are explained/described? If you don't mind, I'll look into it tomorrow, I'm terribly tired today.

I've made a few changes to the Geobox in Moravian-Silesian Region, I replaced hejtman with hetman which is the English version of the title, we might write a paragraph in the hetman article about this title and then link the word in the Geobox to it. Having just the Czech version, a reader might not understand what the field is about at all. I also moved the party to a dedicated field. And delinked the name, but there - I don't like those red links, but that's just my humble opinion so feel free to link it again if you consider it more appropriate. – Caroig 20:22, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So I've tried this: there's a municipality_type and municipality_count field as well as a extra city_count field, many statistics indeed indicate how many munipalities and cities/town there are in each region, so it was a good idea. I think there's no need to have second folding field, the code for this is extremely lengthy given the very limited capabilities of the template engine.
As of the Czech Districts and Little Districts, from an administrative point of view the regions are divided into the Little Districts only. Besides, most of the old Districts don't have a wiki article at all and if there's one it's mostly just a list of municipalities. I guess there's not much to write about the districts anyway, just some statistical data and a list of munipalities which can as well be attached as a Geobox Region to the appropriate town. This way I've covered most Little Districts in the Pilsen Region (I'm going to finish the rest soon). – Caroig 14:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Award[edit]

Hello Darwinek! Thank you very much for your award. As I haven't got much time at hand right now its going a bit slow, but I hope to be able to do some more groundwork on this articles as I find more and more good sources to do so. Thanks again!--VirtualDelight 15:07, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kamennogorsk[edit]

That one is good enough for a "rough translation". The name cannot be translated exactly anyway. I actually question the usefulness of this translation more than its accuracy :) Unfortunately, since my toponymyc dictionary does not have an entry on Kammenogorsk, I can only replace this with my own speculation as to what the name means exactly (the "-gorsk" part can mean either "mountains" or "city/town"), but that wouldn't be much of an improvement.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 16:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No :) The names, however, don't always refer to large mountains. Sometimes it's just hills that residents perceive large enough to be called "mountains". Also, many of the names were artificial; assigned with no rhyme or reason.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 16:56, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rudolf Vytlacil[edit]

Hi, Why did you move Rudolf Vytlacil to Rudolf Vytlačil? He was born Vytlacil in Schwechat (not Vienna!) and played for Phönix Schwechat, Slovan Vienna, Rapid Vienna, Favoritner Sport-Club and of course for the ÖFB. Fell free to read his biography (Kurt Castka, 1967). He lived a long team in Czechoslovakia so he had his Czechoslovakian passport, but I think its better to use his Austrian name, because he was born, raised, learned how to play football and lived a long time of his life there. Peterwuttke 11:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So would it be okay to move the page back to his real (birth) name? Overall he was Austrian with a Czechoslovakian passport, in the 1920s and 1930s, when he played football in Schwechat, Favoriten and Hütteldorf there was no Austria-Hungary so I dot see any connection to the Deutschböhmen, who can of course be considered as Austrians und Czechoslovakians, but I think they also should be named with their birth name (Ehrenfried Patzel not Čestmír Patzel) Peterwuttke 12:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The guy who first proposed the project seems to be gone. I took the initiative to activate the project above in his absence, as I personally guess you all have enough members to give it a go. Good luck. John Carter 18:14, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geobox Region[edit]

Hello, yeah, the template can be considered released. I've changed the color to a lighter and less saturated one which I'm quite happy with but if you manage to find a better one, we can cahnge it. The color field is still there, but just for experimenting.

I saw your edits on those Denamrk region, let me just point out two things:

  • all figures should be in raw format, i.e. without commas (in population it doesn't do any harm but in are it would cause errors, the figures are used for calculations, nonetheless, they are nicely formatted on output)
  • when setting map/symbol width, do not put in px, just the value

(I never do that myself, but it real might help here to read the documentation to Geoboxes, there's quite a lot of extras there.)

The problems with how the template was displayed in IE7 have been solved (unless someone installs some furter fixes to the CSS Wikipedia engine send to IE7).

As of the Geobox Page. That is an experiment. There will be a link below the box enabling easy editing. The thing is, the geobox template might be pretty long and therefore you need to scroll down a lot of text before you can edit the article. It gets particularly long if there are two Geoboxes on the page. See e.g. Bor (Tachov District) - this way, there doen't need to be a separate article to every Little District. But taht's really an experiment, that's why I'm testing it on such an low profile article.

I really appreciate any ideas, suggestions, bug reports. They only help to get the Geoboxes better. Quite a lot of their features are other user's suggestions. The latest might be a second field for a map, see here: West Chester, Pennsylvania. I would especially appreciate if you correct any imprecisions or unclear statemnts in the documentation as it's written from the point of view of someone who knows every deatil of the Geoboxes. Like the isuue with the map_first switch. – Caroig 21:12, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do you mean? It shows OK here. Which browser are you using? You can mail me a screenshot, my e-mail address should be in my profile.
As I was saying, it's an experiment. Erasing fields which are not used might be a possiblity too, but it should be used with caution. I would still like these Geoboxes be as user friendly as possibly, if an absolute novice sees there's a field for say district they will know how to use it without any explanation. People keep asking me for more fields for countries when they see only two, for a possibility to set rounding ... just because they don't see those fields in blank templates. If you look e.g. here: Hindu Kush – all fields which are not used are erased and I'm afraid not many users will know there are much more fields they can use. Hence the bold sentences at the end of the main (red) Geobox frame. – Caroig 21:56, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was finding it bothering to scroll down the page myself, that's why I added that function, not difficult coding. I might try it out on some pages and see the reaction, but it's not important neither is it very standard. I just saw those transluded pages being used elsewhere on Wikipedia, I find it pretty useful for the Geobox doc pages. On the other side, it gets displayed when printing the page so it amy not be agodd idea at all. – Caroig 22:41, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soviet Union/USSR World Cup squad templates[edit]

I think either name is fine. Chanheigeorge 21:42, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cities and towns in the Soviet Union[edit]

Hmm, I'm not really sure. On one hand, if its contents are kept strictly to other categories and not individual entries, it may be fine to leave it. On the other hand, considering that its only subcat now is Category:Hero Cities of the Soviet Union, and that it itself is a subcategory of Category:Settlements in Russia (??!!), it is already double and improperly categorized. I'd say CfD it, and if any good reasons to leave it exist, they will surely surface during the CfD.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 12:12, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I voted to delete the cat. As for the soccer teams, when you put it like that, it makes sense to rename the templates. However, not being a fan of soccer at all, I'd rather leave this to discussion by editors who are more qualified than me :)—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:46, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You added Category:Russian footballers in the article about Valentin Afonin and explained it by his ethnicity, but this category also adding to:

1) Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Marat Izmailov, Ruslan Nigmatullin (Tatars)

2) Omari Tetradze (Georgians)

3) Andrei Karyaka, Viktor Onopko, Ilia Tsymbalar Ukrainians

4) Roman Sharonov, Anatoli Gerk (Jews)

I think this category only for footballers who plays with Russian Citizenship.

Hello again. I see that you've added Category:Czechoslovak footballers and Category:Soviet footballers as sub-categories of Category:Football (soccer) players by national team. I think there are at least a few players in these categories that did not play for the respective national teams, e.g., Vassilis Hatzipanagis. Do you think we need some separate categories such as Category:Czechoslovakia international footballers and Category:Soviet Union international footballers? Chanheigeorge 23:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I suppose the two categories can be viewed as footballers who played during the Czechslovakia and Soviet eras. I guess right now almost all of them are international players, with a few exceptions. Chanheigeorge 08:39, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tags[edit]

I removed some of the project tags you added to talk pages. For geographical locations, let's stick to including them only in the project of the country, in the territory of which they currently lie. Otherwise we will have endless controversy and pointless fights. Balcer 15:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see your point as well, but I still believe that we should use country tags sparingly. While the present location of any town cannot be disputed, one could talk endlessly about the degree to which a given town must be impacted by another country's culture to be included in that country's project. More pessimistically, I could easily imagine various nationalists sticking the project tag of their nation all over the place under various pretexts. So overall, while project tags are mostly harmless, why not be on the safe side, avoid controversy, and use only the tag for the country where the town is presently located.
On the other hand, to address concerns similar to yours, maybe one could create a related "Polish Culture", "Polish History", or even "Polonia" projects. I would have no problem with those. Balcer 18:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bougainville[edit]

Hello. Why did you merge Bougainville Province with Bougainville Island? Do you know that it is not the same, that the province is larger and includes several more islands? - Darwinek 10:15, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know they are not the same, but not every noun needs its own article. They were not doing particularly well as separate articles. The island article was essentially a paragraph-long excert from the province article, missing a lot of history and other information. The idea is that it's easier for editors to grow a single article rather than two articles with 90% overlap. If there's enough island-specific information in the province article in the future, it could be spun off again, though it might make more sense to make subarticles along different lines - like right now we have History of Bougainville. -- Beland 19:02, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The vandal patrols are doing their very, very best to correct the vulgarities and other racists remarks, but it is just to much.TonyCrew 18:24, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page Movement Methods[edit]

Hello Darwinek, I've 'moved back' Peter Stastny (like I did Marian Gaborik), because your page movements had no consensus backing it, nor did you discuss the changes first. I've brought my concerns (about your methods) up at WPP. Letting you know, so you can explain your 'actions'. GoodDay 18:43, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you're gonna change Marian Gaborik and Jaromir Jagr, I won't protest. I suggest however, you open up a 'consensus vote' first (particularly with 'Jagr'). GoodDay 20:22, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your moving of pages, without discussing it first, bothered me. But, I'm alright with it now. Seeing that your intentions were in 'good faith'. In future though (again), when you do move a page, elaborate on your reasons. This will help curb concerns of (high-strong) editors like me. Sorry, if I came across as over-reacting. Another Dominican Republic mess[edit]

Hello Darwinek! Thanks for the information. Looks messy indeed. Unfortunately I'm too busy at work this week to sort this out. Well this may be why I've lost a bit my cool in dealing with the interesting IP-editor at the Dominican Republic country article. But I'll give it a try next week, when I should have a little more time to do so. This template at least needs a cleanup to be useful. I have to think about if it is useful at all. Best. And some odd moving around of articles ... Re the template: I wont be online for much of the weekend, but give it a try soon. Also a move to a better name like "DRProvinceCapitals" could be useful. Best. VirtualDelight 10:29, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Azuma-kofuji article[edit]

Dear Darwinek, would you be insulted if I moved the image of Mount Azuma you added further down the page and replaced it with one of my own? Though I appreciate your hard work and was flattered to discover someone had edited the page I started, I spent all morning yesterday climbing that stupid mountain just to get this picture of it for the article and would love to have my hard work count for something. However, if you feel it does not improve the article much, I will leave the current image where it is.

Thanks for your quick reply and not minding that I switch photos. As for me writing other Japanese mountain related articles; as long as I can climb them and photograph them I will consider writing articles about them. Thanks again! - Brian Adler

Just wondering[edit]

I have the pages of all the players on the Cleveland Indians roster on my watchlist and I see that you recently added Category:Polish-Americans to the Joe Borowski article. I'm wondering how you know for certain that he is of Polish ancestry? There's no mention of this in his bio in the Indians Media Guide. Do you have a source? If it's simply because his surname ends in -ski, I'm not sure that in and of itself is a sufficiennt criterion since (a) people of Russian, Ukrainian, Czech and Slovenian ancestry may have such names and (b) there's always the possibility that the name is not a blood name for him if there were divorces and/or adoptions in his family history. I have nothing against identifying people with their heritage. I'm of Polish ancestry myself and have a keen interest in genealogy. Since this is a biography of a living person, accuracy is particularly important. --Sanfranman59 17:14, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If it's only a guess, I think it best not to assume the family history. This is particularly true with Americans whose family names were often mangled when immigrants came here. For example, one of my Polish family names is Kuczynski (at least we think that's the spelling). But when my great-grandfather came through Ellis Island at the turn of the last centry, the name became Kutz. It's not at all unlikely that Borowski's family name was once Borovsky or Borovska or some other similar spelling. --Sanfranman59 19:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rivers[edit]

Hi, Darwinek! I am doing fine; thanks for asking. Just don't have as much time on my hands as I used to, but that, too, shall pass :) Hope you are doing well yourself.

As for the rivers, of course I have no objections to categorizing them by federal subject. I'd do it myself, but I have my hands full with just the inhabited localities, so if you want to help with the rivers, that'd be great. Best,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:24, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with the remaining exams! (Shouldn't you be reading up instead of categorizing rivers, by the way? :)))).—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:42, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Double cats[edit]

Category:Kamchatka Oblast is a subcategory of Category:Kamchatka, so if you categorize rivers just under Kamchatka Oblast that should be sufficient (but of course, if a river flows elsewhere as well, then several cats will be needed). Same goes for Sakhalin (categorizing rivers once under Category:Sakhalin Oblast is enough).

As for the cleanup, of course, help would be welcome, but judging from what happened with Krasnoyarsk Krai, however, if you want to help, you'd better hurry, because there are going to be plenty of folks willing to beat you to it :). I only got to do some minor maintenance, because someone made appropriate changes almost overnight. Best,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 19:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greeting[edit]

Hello, and thank You for the greetings You have extended to me on behalf of the Wikipedia community.

I noticed on Your userpage that You're a Pole and was thinking if You could perhaps help me with writing some text in Polish. I can more or less understand written and spoken Polish and speak a little myself with some hand waving, but not really write. I tried to write a basic stub about the largest Ukrainian Marian shrine in Polish, as I think that people of Your nation, known for its great devotion to the Blessed Virgin, might find it interesting, however it's not of sufficient quality to publish it on Polish Wikipedia. What I have so far is now at User:Vohon/pl:Zarwanica, if You could perhaps help me out with it I would be very gratefull. However please, if You're busy with something else don't feel in any way coerced.

Once again, thank You for comming along to greet me, Yours sincerely, --Vohon 15:59, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:cats[edit]

Hallo Darwinek, thanks for your fast answer. I will do now a small example to explain the necessity of redirects in the case of the byzantine buildings in Istanbul (I am writing a serie of articles about it, the newest should appear in the next hours under DYK).

The building named now Bodrum Mosque is a mosque, so it is normal to have the article in the category Mosques in Istanbul. Anyway, originally it was the church of Myrelaion, and most of the Greeks also today know it under this name, and will look under the category Churches in Istanbul under that name to find it. Moreover, in this case there is no double link under the same category. That's why I chose to categorise the redirects in this special case.

I agree with you about Byzantine Empire, that category is wrong in this place.

That's all for now,

thanks again,

Alex2006 09:07, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Darwinek, thanks for appreciating my articles! Yes, actually after Bodrum I have two more articles in the pipeline, they should come in the next weeks. My girlfriend is turkish, and she lives in Istanbul. So every time that I go there and she works I take my camera, wander around the walled city, visit one building, take pictures, and when I am back home I sack the university library and write the article. however, this can cause also some problem. Last January for example Fenari Isa Mosque costed me a pair of brand new shoes and four hours walking around Istanbul just with my socks (temperature was 4 C.):-((. At first I was angry, but then I tought that not many europeans nowadays can share the privilege of walking bare footed like St. Francis, and the old guy who stole my shoes surely needed them more than me :-)))
That's all for now, ciao and thanks again, Alex2006 09:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Czech geo-stubs[edit]

G'day Darwinek! Long time no hear :)

Category:Czech Republic geography stubs is getting close to the sort of level where splitting seems a good idea - 800 is regarded as the usual splittable level, and it has just under 700. What is happening with quite a few countries, though, is that upmerged templates are being made for subnational regions, and that would probably be a good proposal for you to make at WP:WSS/P. That way, we can assess exactly how many stubs there are for each subdivision. Any which have more than about 60 stubs would be very likely candidates for separate categories. Any others would stay in the main category, it'll make it easier to split them out if and when they get to the 60 stub level. Grutness...wha? 10:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank for your good work on football related articles, recently I noticed your huge activity on Yugoslavian and German footballers.Good work!

I also think these pages about Division1/Ligue 1 seasons should be moved, the current name comes from an editor who wanted to remove any ambiguity, although I disagreed with him. So, I think you're right and I will move these articles soon.--Latouffedisco 13:13, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Czech geo-stubs[edit]

Hi Darwinek -

The usual rule of thumb is 60 stubs (or close to it) - you can check the numbers using "What links here". At the moment, it looks like there are more than enough stubs for separate categories for Central and South Bohemia, and several other regions are close (HradekKrálové has 55 stubs and ÚstíNadLabem has 50). What links here is also useful; for keeping track of the ones still marked with just Czech-geo-stub - there are still a little over 100 of those, so it's quite likely the two regions with 50+ stubs will also get to 60. I'll propose the speedying of the first two, thouygh - they are already well past the 60 stub mark. Good work, BTW! Oh - and remember that the wording at the top of Category:Czech Republic geography stubs} will need changing to mention the new templates :) Grutness...wha? 00:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again - I've just made three subcats: Category:South Bohemian Region geography stubs, Category:Central Bohemian Region geography stubs, and Category:Hradec Králové Region geography stubs. That should empty the main category out a bit! Grutness...wha? 06:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be possible to merge {{Chrudim-geo-stub}} and {{PardubiceDistrict-geo-stub}} to {{Pardubice-geo-stub}} ?

Best thing to do would be for you to take the Chrudim and PardubiceDistrict stubs to WP:SFD and suggest redirecting them there. If, as you say, the Districts aren't used any more and the number of stubs is not going to become too much to split them, then chances are redirection (or even outright deleteion) of the templates is a good idea. Grutness...wha? 11:55, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jasiczek[edit]

I've copyedited the page, but I have a few questions, as always:

  1. He became an editor-in-chief before he went to journalism school?
  2. You had "solitude", and I changed it to "reclusion" because it looks like he died before his wife, who I presume was with him. If he was actually alone, it could be "seclusion".
  3. Are you sure you spelled "Oldrzychowice" right? (joke).

The epitaph looks right, now. "Autumn ray" is beautiful. Poetry doesn't translate, but you came close here, I'll bet. --Milkbreath 16:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be embarrassed. Think of us as a team—you do all the work, and I get to play with your words. It's important to me that y'all come all the way out from behind the Iron Curtain. We've been waiting for you for a long time now, and I, for one, am glad you're finally joining the party (the fun, polka-style party, not any political one). My beautiful wife (she's part Bohemian) and I visited the Czech Republic for the first time recently, and we fell in love with it, especially Prague. The guy two houses down from me here came over from Poland only about ten years ago; he makes cabinets.
I hurt myself the last time I tried to pronounce that "rz" thing. I think I'll be content to try to read it. --Milkbreath 17:55, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI Christmas Trees[edit]

Just so you know I removed the globalize template from History of Christmas tree cultivation; I am the only author there and am aware of the problem. Information concerning the history of Christmas tree cultivation in other nations has been scant but so far I have some stuff compiled on Canada. Anyway, since the point of the template is to let editors know work needs to be done, and I am aware, I just removed it. I also have concerns with the fact that this article was nominated for GA (without my knowledge), but am attempting to remedy that as the article is nowhere near ready for GA. IvoShandor 15:28, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. I have been working on numerous articles, Christmas tree production has a more worldwide perspective. But much of that information isn't really appropriate for the history article, though there will be some overlap once the article is complete. But I just wanted to leave you note so you didn't think I was being a jerk and removing the template just to slight you, if you're more comfortable with it there, I have no problem with its presence. IvoShandor 15:40, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I am glad they can bring enjoyment (not to mention some pretty interesting knowledge) to others. I am still working on NRHP stuff, one is up at DYK suggestions now. I will be through the winter, spent some of the summer touring sites and taking photos, so I will have plenty to do. If only I could have made it back to Oak Park one more time, I still have about 20 FLW buildings to photograph there and in River Forest and a couple other communities. Gorolski Święto[edit]

I don't understand what is meant by "the Gorol folklore group". I suspect it should read "the folklore group Gorol". Help me out here. --Milkbreath 18:03, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If I understand aright, "group" here is used in the sense "vocal group", the way the Beatles were a "musical group". If that is true, the passage in the article should be "the folklore group Gorol" to be understandable as such and to be idiomatic. I'll let you correct it or not when you feel comfortable that we've sorted this out. --Milkbreath 18:33, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geobox 2[edit]

Hello, this message is sent to you because you've shown some interest in the Geobox templates in past. There is now a new version (aka Geobox 2) which supersedes all older Geoboxes (aka Geobox 1). The major difference is there are no feature specific templates (Settlement, River, Mountain range etc.) but just one master template which can handle all type of data. There are a couple of new features and many new fields making the template much more versatile so now it can be used for virtually any geography related feature without the need to create a specific template.

The switch to Geoboxes 2.0 is highly recommended as the new template has a much more effective code, which renders faster than the old one (with much smaller pre-expand size, it can be one third to one fourth of the pre-expand size of Geoboxes 1). To convert aa page from Geobox 1 to Geobox 2, there are two ways:

  • By changing the template header:
    {{Geobox Settlement
    becomes
    {{Geobox|Settlement
Although some field names have been changed in order to be unified, the old names are accepted too. For any settlement Geobox use {{Geobox|Settlement and set the settlement type (city, borough, town, village) in category field. Calling e.g. {{Geobox|City will work as well but it's not the recommended way (from technical reasons).
  • By a semi-automated tool which reorders the field names in the Geobox 2 style and also renames the few changed field names.

There are several unresolved issues at the Geobox talk page, please add your comments and of course any other ideas you might come with as well as bug reports. – Caroig (talk) 09:42, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doubrava[edit]

I did it. Two things: We aren't supposed to Wikilink whole years. The "references" template asks for pages, and you gave it only page 1, so it shows "pp. 1" which means "pages 1" which should be "p. 1" meaning "page 1". I don't know what to do about that. Nice to hear from you again. --Milkbreath 15:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your question[edit]

Hello. I lost my admin rights in May, I think, following my Arbitration case. In the ruling of ArbCom it was stated I could gain these rights back through the Arbitration Committee. Hrádek[edit]

Hey. I did Hrádek. A couple of things: I googled "Godulian" and came up with very little. I wonder whether it might not be better to omit it and say simply "sandstone". Or we could say what it is about Godulian sandstone that makes it special. Also, I called Belko "infamous", because I was surprised after "legendary" to find he was a villain. Is he infamous, or does he stand for redemption, or what?

I love reading these geo-nuggets of yours. The history of these places and their people recedes into the mists of time, so unlike where I live. --Milkbreath 16:22, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstatement as administrator[edit]

Hello Darwinek. As a result of your request for reinstatement, a discussion on the AC mailing list resulted in a consensus for your access to admin tools to be restored. As such, a bureaucrat will restore the access ASAP. Well done. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:59, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not use IRC, that's fair enough. The channel owners like the idea of every admin having access so they can get backup and constructive criticism of their actions. Sorry to hurt you[edit]

I didn't mean to hurt you but a nomination like that without notifying anyone who might be involved with the categories is bad, and I see to many nominations based solely on policy that don't take the time investigate whether something really is useful and rules should be ignored. This is probably why the language was a bit harsh and I didn't mean to attack you personally, there's just so many things on Wikipedia that frustrate the bejesus out of me, and lately they have been piling on. Of possible interest[edit]

Hi! How have you been lately? I think you'll like this. It does need a lot of work, though: more sectioning, better flow of ideas, more structure. Still, a nice start. If you think I wrote too much on the West, you can remove some of those parts. Also, I'd love to see more on the coup itself and its immediate and (and, at least in historiography & culture) longer-term impact on Czechoslovakia. But I do like the lead! Anyway, have fun editing. Brenda Shaffer[edit]

Brenda Shaffer (an Israeli army officer) has misquoted many sources, and misinterpreted everything. The fact that she is published in the nationalities papers says nothing. While Iranians do not get easily published in such journals, the anti-Iranianists get free hand. In general [Anti-Iranianism]] is promoted these days in the USA and American publications. See the discussion on her article. I agree with you that further reading is a good thing, but why not excellent authors from the community itself? If the anti-Iranianists do not like Kaveh Farrokh or Ahmad Kasravi tabrziz why not Atabaki e.g.??? --Babakexorramdin (talk) 20:33, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orlová[edit]

Hi. I copyedited Orlová. I wasn't sure about something: in the legend, did Ludmila drop the kid right there and then in the woods, or did the premature birth come later? In the first case, we should say she was pregnant when she went hunting with hubby, and in the second case we should say it happened later. Also, I wanted to say why I replaced "perpetrated": It is normally used for a single act, or at least a discrete set of acts. You really can't perpetrate "widespread coal mining", but you almost can. It doesn't miss by much, but it is a clean miss. You can "perpetrate a crime", and you can "perpetrate a crime wave", but you can't "perpetrate crime" in general, if you know what I mean. --Milkbreath (talk) 00:13, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...that the Czech town of Orlová was named for the eagle (Polish: orzeł, Czech: orel) that, legend has it, caused the premature birth of Kazimierz, son of Duke Mieszko and his wife, Ludmiła, on the spot where the town was founded?

Yes. My preferences are set to automatically watch any page I edit. I do remove a page sometimes, but I can't say which ones I've stopped watching. I'm still watching practically all of yours, I believe. --Milkbreath (talk) 17:36, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Polish subdivision navboxes etc[edit]

Hi, I notice you edited Template:SilesianVoivodeshipCounties. In case you intend to do any more maybe I'd better explain my plan for these templates. I think the neatest solution (and the easiest for my bot to handle) is to have one navbox template for each subdivision (gmina, powiat or voivodeship), and for the name of the template to be the same as the name of the article for that subdivision (e.g. Template:Silesian Voivodeship, Template:Tatra County, Template:Gmina Nowe). I have already created such templates for the voivodeships and powiats; those for the gminas will be created by the bot (it has done the Lower Silesian gminas already). So at the moment we have duplicate templates: Template:xxxVoivodeshipCounties and Template:xxx Voivodeship. If there are no objections then I plan to replace all instances of the xxxVoivodeshipCounties templates and then propose them for deletion.

About the bot: it has now created all the articles (gminas and villages) for Lower Silesian V, though I still have quite a lot of manual tidying up to do there. Since it was taking so long, I've changed its procedure slightly, and it is now working on the gmina articles only (without the villages) for the rest of Poland. Sometime in the new year I'll set it to work on the villages again (which will include adding lists of villages to the gmina articles, and making the gmina navbox templates as referred to above). --Kotniski (talk) 14:55, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, should be no problem. If the bot finds an article already in place, it will simply skip it (though it may suggest to me some changes that might be made manually). Good luck with the articles, and Happy New Year! --Kotniski (talk) 21:20, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I think Plaid Cymru (wow I'm amazed you;ve heard of them you clever wikipedian you!!) are doing remarkable things for the welsh cause -but yes it is the same with scotland - strong nationalism in both Wales and Scotland to point out politically and in many other areas that they are markedly different to England. I must admit I've never been into the welsh nationalism, sometimes people here are obsessed with who wins the rugby and retaining the welsh language etc but it has never been a part of who I am. I've always thought of myself as British rather than welsh or english -the sub-cultural identity is too hyped I think. Incidentally my next door neighbour is one of the local representatives for Plaid in the Vale of Glamorgan -he';s from Maesteg and a strong welsh advocate. A request[edit]

There is a discussion about the shape of Bombing of Dresden article, including a question regarding if the lead should consist of a quote[7]. I came to you because would like the quote if it can't be removed to be moved to a sub-section about quotes about Dresden, and I would like to have a quote counterbalancing the view with the view of those being represenatitve of victims of Germany. I do recall Bohumil Hrabal writing about it in Closely Watched Trains at the end IIRC. You wouldn't happen to know the quote in English ? --Molobo (talk) 21:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC) Hrabal's quotes about Drezno and Germans as victims : {...} I podniósł się: telegraf wzywał naszą stację. — Bahnhofsperre Dresden, Pirna, Bautzen... --Molobo (talk) 23:51, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a great new year, --Elonka 04:24, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Welcome ![edit]

Hi,

I'm glad of your welcome message ([8] ): it's nice to be greeted, even if I'm not really a newcomer in en:WP .

Anyway, even if I mainly contribute to fr:WP, I'll try to do my best on en:WP.

Merry christmas and a happy new year![edit]

I know I'm a bit late but I wish you the best (wiki) for 2008!--Latouffedisco (talk) 18:46, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Piping categoried articles[edit]

Hi there, I've noticed that you've piped a number of categoried articles "|", such as Mount Nonotuck. I'm wondering if this is necessary, as the articles are automatically added to the category regardless if the pipe and extended text is added or not. --Pgagnon999 (talk) 18:18, 12 January 2008 (UTC) I see; thanks.--Pgagnon999 (talk) 18:57, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why the formality? Let's just do this.[9] I can do it quickly and it really isn't controversial is it? TableMannersU·T·C 19:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, can you help me set up my page with those fancy graphics? TableMannersU·T·C 19:47, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I can do it article by article. I can't imagine any other way of doing it. Is there a better way? TableMannersU·T·C 19:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay, if a bot can do it, that is easier. Will it edit each article? I'll watch this space. Thanks. TableMannersU·T·C 20:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's done. Could you follow up on checking the deletion. Also, who set up your user page? TableMannersC·U·T 07:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and thanks for joining. We are undergoing a reorganization after a substantial period of inactivity and a loss of membership followed by renewed interest and the organization of Wikipedia:WikiProject History. We have recently merged the even less active Polish History Project into Wikipedia:WikiProject European history/Polish history task force, please consider joining that as well or suggest ideas for reorganizing task forces to cover broader areas of subtopics. Please discuss any ideas you have at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject European history (nobody will be looking if you post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject European history/Polish history task force).--Doug.(talk contribs) 18:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your Grand Bahamas Photo[edit]

Hi,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Grand_bahama.jpg is upside down as you can easily verify on Google Maps. I would flip it myself, but I am not certain if there isn't a reason for this. Reply to User:RichiH, please -- 84.154.121.194 (talk) 08:44, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
