reply from Sbharris[edit]

Hi from Quora. Answered on the matter TALK page. Yes this whole thing is a royal pain. I'd love to get away from the word "matter" entirely, but astronomers keep finding new uses for it, in opposition to other types of positive energy that are not matter (dark energy, etc.). Matter is just a bad word. It's like "god" or "evil" or "beauty," as it means something different to everyone who uses the term, and none of them have scientific definitions. Disambiguation link notification for July 21[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Thermal energy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Power (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Explaining[edit]

I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 22:34, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Definition of energy[edit]

Hi Dav. I saw you reverted my changes on the energy article in which I modified the lead section to include a different definition. Thanks for helping improve wikipedia! I find the current lead section lacks a definition; when read, the beginning of the article doesn't really say anything to non-technical readers. I understand your objection for technical inaccuracy reasons, but these are adequately addressed in the rest of the article, as discussed in the article's talk page. In which way do you think we can have a lead section which allows readers such as high-school students to get an understanding of what energy is without requiring them to understand all the mathematical jargon of physics? Thank you for your time and attention. --dionyziz (talk) 00:58, 1 March 2014 (UTC).

Dinoyziz, please put new material at the bottom of this talk page, not the top. The section of the Energy talk page that you referred to is over a year old, and there's been much discussion since then -- there too, the latest discussion should be at the bottom of that page. I hope you don't mind if I quote your comments from here on the talk page there (in a new section at the bottom) so we can involve others as well. DavRosen (talk) 21:00, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
