Watchlist notifier[edit]

I've added the link; bypass your cache again to see the changes. Hope that helps! --ais523 15:50, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I made a slight mistake during the change; if you bypassed your cache before you read this message, bypass it again. Sorry about that. --ais523 16:02, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I was having similar problems (including at one point an error message) a few minutes ago; it seems to have cleared itself up, though, so it was probably due to server lag. Do you still have this problem? --ais523 16:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Error in your monobook.js[edit]

Please see my answer at wlunwatch.js talk. I see that you still hasn't removed the code that prevents everything below from working on special pages ∴ AlexSm 16:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

scriptstyle[edit]

I reverted this edit. Without \scriptstyle, the characters look enormously bigger than the surrounding text. Michael Hardy (talk) 18:10, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps that's a problem with your browser? Or are you saying that in this particular instance the math characters are too big? Because otherwise, you'd have to add \scriptstyle to every inline math formula on Wikipedia. ;-) In other words, unless it's a problem with this particular formula, I'd leave it alone and wait for it to be fixed in MediaWiki. (It certainly does look too small in my browser if you add \scriptstyle.) -- Ddxc (talk) 18:18, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited Wikipedia every day for more than five years, on a variety of different browsers, working on many thousands of mathematics articles, and the effect I've described always happens on all of them. (I have heard claims that there are exceptions, but I haven't seen one.) Michael Hardy (talk) 18:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So are you saying that \scriptstyle should be added to all inline formulas? -- Ddxc (talk) 18:23, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's what most of us have been doing since \scriptstyle became available a couple of years ago.

I'd leave it alone and wait for it to be fixed in MediaWiki.

Sigh........ Don't you know that we---all of us---hundreds of us---have been discussing this particular problem incessantly for years while waiting for it to get fixed in MediaWiki?

Michael Hardy (talk) 18:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I didn't. :-/ Sorry for wasting your time then! -- Ddxc (talk) 18:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are various opinions on this. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (mathematics), Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (mathematics) and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics. Michael Hardy (talk) 20:36, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Odaiba015-landscape.jpg[edit]

Not sure what the problem is and why they have been tagged? Go to the link provided that goes to http://www.shihei.com/free01/odaiba03.html and it says they are free use images. (In Japan I don't think we have public domain in the same sense? But in all senses of the word I believe they are public domain?) In any case, they are clearly not infringement. At least I didn't think they were. Hmm Nesnad (talk) 06:29, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not a lawyer but I believe they are free use images. I'll talk to some other friends and see what they think and get back to you. I think they have been tagged by over tag-hungry taggers, but maybe not. I'll let you know. ^^ Nesnad (talk) 06:58, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! On such short notice, I can't find any of my friends that knows about lawyer stuff. But the banner on the page clearly says 著作権フリー!自由にお使い下さい which you can run through a dictionary if you don't believe me but should translate as "Copyright free (no copyright)! Please use as you want!" The commons picture was uploaded by someone who didn't understand what she/he should list the picture as, but it is clearly a usable picture. I suggest commons picture changed to public domain rights. What do you think? Nesnad (talk) 15:36, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Falsetto move[edit]

I looked at it. What's your problem? I did what the article said.Nrswanson (talk) 10:40, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The reasom I moved this page is so that it comes in line with the articles relating to vocal registration which the falsetto voice is a part of. It makes more sense.Nrswanson (talk) 10:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

James May Autocar Quote[edit]

Thank you for fixing the quote, i.e., removing "Road Test Year Book". Those words were in the supplement, but I don't feel as though they were part of his "hidden message", as they were obviously meant to be read. I had an argument about it with a couple of hardheaded people and lost, but I told myself I would change it back one day. Thanks for doing it for me.

Sure, no problem. :) I thought it changed the meaning quite a bit (in a negative way) — it read as if the magazine articles were made up, not as if it was hard to come up with the letters —, so I thought it would be better to be on the safe side and change it. -- Ddxc (talk) 19:14, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Accusation of sock puppets false[edit]

you are incorrect. I do not use sock puppets. I will admit however that I did e-mail some friends of mine about the discussion and they chose to join wikipedia to take part in the discussion.. Their opinions are their own though and do not necessarily reflect mine.Nrswanson (talk) 08:19, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

if my friends were amateurs in this field I could see you complaint. But as we have 5 degrees in voice between the three of us that ought to count for something. Also,, both of my friends are planning on writing new articles for wikipedia because I got them interested. So I don't really think you can call them sock puppets. They are interested in voice articles not because they are friends of mine but because they are voice professionals.Nrswanson (talk) 16:20, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't appriciate my opinion being likened to a sock puppet. It's true that nrswanson did get me interested in joining wikipedia but I certainly have my own opinions for my own reasons. I just happen to agree with him on this issue but I am sure there will be points where we disagree in future. My interest in these articles is as a professional and I think they should be valued.Ringnpassagio (talk) 16:47, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Falsetto register page[edit]

I am not sure why you are so hostile to this page. You have also as far as I can tell not participated in the talk sections at all on this topic where the consensus seems to be merging the falsetto article into the falsetto register page. Please participate in this conversation.Ringnpassagio (talk) 23:38, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

you are being unethical[edit]

I am sorry if I have done eberything the way I should but I am not using sock puppets. Look at our ip addressed.Nrswanson (talk) 01:04, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Care to add some evidence? / edg 04:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, thanks for opening the report. I've never edited on Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets before — is it generally OK for me to just add stuff (links) to the evidence section when I'm not the reporter, or should I put it in the comments section? -- Ddxc (talk) 13:25, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's generally okay, but sign your contributions to minimize confusion. / edg 18:15, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Image:Step up two.jpg[edit]

Hey, thanks for the heads up, I fixed the typo in question (along with the same ones on about half a dozen other images - argh). As for the template idea, I'm certainly up for it. It would be nice to have a little more uniformity when it comes to that sort of thing. -- Grandpafootsoldier (talk) 07:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've always assumed the copyright holder for such a promotional poster is the company in charge of advertising and distribution of the film. Hence why I have "Copyright 2008, © Touchstone Pictures" in the description. -- Grandpafootsoldier (talk) 22:31, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

{{helpme}} Could an admin please speedily delete User:Ddxc/monobook.js and User:Ddxc/monobook.css? Thanks! -- Ddxc (talk) 20:44, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I may comment; blanking those pages effectively deletes them, as if they're blank they will not do anything. Unless, of course, you want the page history gone, in which case a deletion is the way to go. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 20:47, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How-to content in Sitemaps article[edit]

I saw that you put a {howto|article} template on the Sitemaps article on December 23, 2007. I looked at the content today and the only how-to content I saw was in external links. If you agree, would you remove the how-to warning?
