Retroactive thinking[edit]

What are having retroactive thinking of Prince Michael Petrovic-Nyegosh from 1330 (or something similar) with position of Great Powers about Podgorica Assembly between 1919 - 1922 ? This is nothing more or less but personal thinking of 1 person.--Rjecina (talk) 05:42, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why I removed 95% of the content in the Serbs in Montenegro article[edit]

I removed 95% of the content because 95% of the content was unsourced and thus unverifiable. There were "see also" links at the bottom of the page to Serb nationalist political parties and the article pointed out in positive terms what it deemed a "pro-Serb" newspaper. The article was completely biased and unverifiable, for example there were statistics with no references. I tagged the article which called for references to be added, after some time no action was taken, that is why I removed 95% of the unsourced material in the article.--R-41 (talk) 13:14, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves and disambiguation[edit]

Hi there. I reverted your move of Montenegrins. On Wikipedia, article names should be only as precise as they are needed to be to distinguish them from other subjects with the same name but not more specific than that. For example, we use Nirvana (band) instead of Nirvana (Aberdeen, Washington rock band) since both the place they are from and the genre of music are not needed to distinguish them from other subjects by the same name. The same applies to Montenegrins. Since this is the primary topic, it should only be moved to a place with a disambiguating suffix if there were another equally "primary" subject that could also be located at Montenegrins. Since there isn't, there is no reason to disambiguate further. If you disagree, please use the article's talk page (Talk:Montenegrins) to discuss it. If you move it again without discussion, you may be restricted from editing. Regards SoWhy 23:09, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Serb nationalist parties are political entities they do not have a direct connection to the heritage of the Serbs of Montenegro[edit]

Serb nationalist parties in Montenegro are political entities and putting them on a page about Serbs of Montenegro as representing the Serbs of Montenegro is partisan. Now you may ask: why is that partisan? The answer is because as they are political entities in a democratic political system in Montenegro they are not directly connected to any culture in spite of whatever claims they make to the contrary. The Serbs of Montenegro can vote for many political parties - including non-nationalist ones, the mentioning of Serb nationalist political parties thus seems to be a form of legitimization of them as the rightful representatives of the Serbs of Montenegro - that is biased. For instance, in my country of Canada, as an English Canadian, I do not connect "English Canadians" to the English Canadian nationalist movement Alliance for the Preservation of English in Canada (APEC) nor would it be deemed acceptable in my country to link Western Canadians to the Western Canadian populist party, the Reform Party of Canada even though it had wide Western support. It inappropriately connects the culture and heritage of a people to political movements. However what has been done in the case of the Reform Party and other Western populist parties is to mention their historical significance to Western Canadians. If an important case can be made of the significance of these political parties to the history of the Serbs of Montenegro, perhaps a general statement can be made about important ones. For instance, I am generally aware that the Montenegrin independence movement caused a revival in the number of people identifying themselves as Serbs in Montenegro - if these political parties were influential in bringing about that change, then that could be mentioned.

I believe that there are important links that should be added to the Serbs of Montenegro article aside from politics that are related to the culture and heritage of the people. These include mentioning the presence of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, mentioning that many Serbs across the Balkans descend from Serb clans that resided in Montenegro. These need more info in the article.--R-41 (talk) 03:04, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MIhailjo[edit]

Sure I can have a look. I think you migth be right, some scholar do see him as Serb straighforwardly, eg Fine and Hupchik you mentioned. Because the article currently is very well set out and referenced, I will have to proposed the amendations in the discussion page so it meets goodwill policy, etc Slovenski Volk (talk) 01:09, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
