I thought from your recent edits, you might be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Scottish Islands - come on over and have a look. --MacRusgail 17:58, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome and thanks for joining. I hope that the projects aims and procedures are all fairly obvious, but if you need anything, just let me know. Ben MacDui(Talk)/(Walk) 19:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Other work[edit]

Thanks for adding to the Knightswood page. I have added a new section to better suit your input as places of worship don't seem quite right under facilities! Wikiwayman (talk) 12:35, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of John Christie (moderator)[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on John Christie (moderator) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Merlion  444  11:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Status and Advice[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I see that he is notable, for he is head of the C of S. But the article needs in addition references providing substantial coverage from independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not press releases, or material derived from press releases. And be certain none of the material is copied from any pre-existing publication. DGG ( talk ) 15:05, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Information.svg Hello Drumhollistan! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,411 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Alan Main (Moderator) - Find sources: "Alan Main (Moderator)" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support![edit]

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I've just read your profile and saw that you're a learned person interested in history, culture and languages so I guess this helps you understand what are a minorized language and culture and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to that moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Supporting us will be like giving equal opportunity to minorized languages and cultures in the future! Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Keep on preserving your great culture, country and language! Mar sin leibh! Capsot (talk) 07:54, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 31[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lorna Hood, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages MA, BD and Irvine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
