Articles for deletion nomination of Comparison of CAD editors for computer-aided engineering[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

I have nominated Comparison of CAD editors for computer-aided engineering, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of CAD editors for computer-aided engineering. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Wizard191 (talk) 12:13, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

That's fair enough. I set the page up because the comparison I maintain of CAD for architecture was always getting filled with engineering applications. So I have no objection to it being deleted - it doesn't seem to be very popular --DuLithgow (talk) 10:46, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

List, comparison, whatever of CAR, CAD for AEC or whatever[edit]

I am sorry to have caused you troubles with the page move. Historically the page was a list of CAD software, and was at one poitn moved to list of AEC software; The content of the age concerns, and has always concerned, all sort of CAD software. I think it should be split in an umbrella CAD page, pointing to list by subcategories, one of which would be AEC. I know this is quite some work to be done, but the move to list of AEC is not satisfactory either, because no list of general CAD software would exist. --Dwarfpower (talk) 12:49, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Replied to this on User_talk:Dwarfpower#comparison_od_CAD_for_AEC --duncan.lithgow (talk) 18:26, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Agree on your last comment I see if I can go through a rename --Dwarfpower (talk) 14:33, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

ok, thanks. It's not because I wouldn't like one big comparison. It's just that there was not enough interest in maintaining one. There's a lot of money at stake here for the small software vendors - so some of them really seem to want to be on the list. Perhaps I should also learn to organise a bit on Wikipedia to find other people like you who will help me maintain the page? Do you have any experience of how to do this? Where is customary for this sort of discussion to take place? Article talk page, your talk page or my talk page? How can I see if you are subscribed to this page? --duncan.lithgow (talk) 18:26, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Bergen Belsen[edit]

Not sure if you caught this: [1]. Probably not really useable in the article (although perfectly reliable and some details quite shocking), but I felt it was one of those moments in radio broadcasting. Captain John Randall was the first British soldier to enter the camp. Just amazing and quite humbling. Quite a mixture of emotions, I found. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:30, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that. I'll try and hear it sometime. --duncan.lithgow (talk) 11:48, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia Help Survey[edit]

Hi there, my name's Peter Coombe and I'm a Wikimedia Community Fellow working on a project to improve Wikipedia's help system. At the moment I'm trying to learn more about how people use and find the current help pages. If you could help by filling out this brief survey about your experiences, I'd be very grateful. It should take less than 10 minutes, and your responses will not be tied to your username in any way.

Thank you for your time,

Disambiguation link notification for October 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Autodesk, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BIM (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Blekko[edit]

Your edit and ref addition was welcome, but I have a wp:undue or wp:promo concern about the list of rights, as a list, which is why I had it as prose. Interesting sidebar: after publishing that list, of course Blekko did away with free access to SEO details. Oh, what to do, what to do. --Lexein (talk) 01:07, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
