Be kind.[edit]

I'm not an experienced editor here. And having been a wiki admin on a private site, I may have some bad habits (e.g. not marking minor changes as minor, forgetting to sign things, no edit summary...)

Hi there, "login candidate" was supposed to be a self-defining term. There was no intent or belief that it is a "defined" term as from a dictionary. Feel free to edit if you think of a better way to express it. Regards, Bill Jefferys (talk) 19:46, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Point of order[edit]

Here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commodity_money&diff=prev&oldid=225340613 you wrote "...pennies (mostly zinc) and the metal in nickels (mostly copper)..." Is that order reversed. Pennies seem to have more copper! dvdrtrgn (talk) 23:16, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They seem to, but nowadays do not. Since 1982, US pennies have been almost entirely zinc, with a thin cladding of copper. See Penny (United States coin). And US nickels have more copper than nickel (except for the wartime nickels, they are 75% copper, 25% nickel). I have it right; I probably should qualify the penny statement by date, since prior to 1982, US pennies WERE mostly copper. SBHarris 01:27, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:12, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to curly apostrophe[edit]

Hi. Following your recent rename to Parkinson’s law of triviality I have opened Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style#Rename to curly apostrophe to discuss this. Please don't do any similar renames unless there is a consensus that this is OK. --Mirokado (talk) 00:39, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
