[edit] Just a question out of curiousity

Hello ESkog.

I hope you do not find my curiosity offending, but may I ask a rather personal question? How many items do you have in your watchlist?

Thanks in advance.

[edit] File:Zeddy.jpg

File:Zeddy.jpg has been licensed under CC-BY-SA by original Twitter poster, mrange. Is this sufficient? Cheers, --LABcrabs (talk) 16:07, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry and thank you !

Dear ESkog, I am very sorry for putting this copywritten picture on the EPO page, I know how it works now !

Thank you and sorry !

[edit] Non-free image use at Body painting

Hi Eskog.

Quick question. Over at body painting, it was decided to cull and re-arrange the images as the article had many more than it's length could support. As part of this, File:Coversvanity demi.0.jpg has been moved from the section that described it to the article lede.

At the moment, there is no fair use rational posted for use at the article at all and that's something we need to fix. Before we do that, is it reasonable to use the image in the lede, given that this is perhaps the iconic body painting image, or should it be moved to the section that specifically deals with it, or are we on shaky ground using the image at all? Once I have an answer from somebody with some experience, I'll make sure we change things to be in line with policy. --GraemeL (talk) 13:49, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] A follow-up on my screenshot grievances

Greetings again. Sorry to bother you about this! I was unsure of whom to contact regarding this issue, but since it was you who resolved it for me before, I thought I'd come to you first. Basically, I've got a bit of a bone to pick with this persistent fellow, since he has once again uploaded a brazenly crude screenshot for an article and is passing it off as his own work. Since my own screenshots weren't allowed in October, I'll be damned if he gets away with it. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 20:13, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Can you please restore my "File:Willtoco - Bass Player.JPG" back to Wikipedia Upload file???

Hello ESkog,

Last night on January 23rd, 2012 I finished uploading again and updating my personal picture file " Willtoco - Bass Player" to my User:Willtoco page on Wikipedia. But now I found out that you deleted my file under "speedy deleted copyvio". Well, it's a total mistake such action. This current new file isn't anymore under "deletion". So PLEASE!!!! Restore my current "File:Willtoco - Bass Player.JPG" only, the one that you just deleted, back to Wikipedia Upload file.

Thanks in advance, William "Willy" Toledo Willtoco - Bass Player willtoco@aol.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Willtoco http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Upload&wpDestFile=Willtoco_-_Bass_Player.JPG — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willtoco (talkcontribs) 18:15, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] So I guess I'll have to upload another file picture of mysef instead?

Alright ESkog,

So looks like I don't have other option but just to upload again but another file picture of myself. But at this time I gonna make sure that the new file picture that I will upload next, belong entirely all the Copyrights to my person. I don't want more issues with "Copyrights" or "deletion" process anymore on Wikipedia. Let me know please which "Copyrights" will be attached under my own pictures. I'll be completely the owner and author of the new file picture.

Thanks, Willtoco, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Willtoco and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Upload&wpDestFile=Willtoco_-_Bass_Player.JPG — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willtoco (talkcontribs) 20:52, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Asa Butterfield

I am watching you r fighting the vandalism by unknown Ip's . Can i plzz know why you r not requesting it for semi-protection , because its a pain to revert vandal again and again . What r your views on this issue ? Rahul Mothiya (Talk2Me|Contribs) 09:47, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

  • It looked like it was only a couple of users; I think it's generally better to keep reverting a few times and block repeat vandals. When in doubt, choose the option that keeps articles as open as is reasonable. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:59, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] I was just following up on that "mistake / error " of you allowed someone to be described as both ptcher and catcher in an indicent where Babe Ruth called the shots. the pitcher's name was Charlie Root, but sometimes his name was abbreviated as Root,

1. Root, Ruth -- confusion 2. Statement made that Root is both pitcher and catcher. 3. photo is ambiguous -- perhaps Root is playing both positions and traveling faster than the speed of light [ physics ]. 4. The whole item is SUPPOSED to be taken with a grain of salt, as ludicruously humorous. 5. So fix the misconstruals , or let's be humorous. Edit edit edit...

BOTTOM LINE: SOMEONE WHO PLAYS BASEBALL NEEDS TO REVIEW THIS ITEM PERIODICALLY.

THE PHOTO IS not verifiable, being so old and faint. The 2 - 3 comprehension related erros and blatant contradiction are obvious proof that somethin's up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.153.219.20 (talk) 20:03, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Indicent / ptcher = incident , pitcher. Please excuse.

In a rush to go move a 60 pound desk downstairs by myself, Sorry for the typos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.153.219.20 (talk) 20:07, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit] MSU Interview

Dear ESkog,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 18:23, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
