Sumitkumar kataria (talk) 05:28, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Sad that you think that way, I come to wikipedia, not to learn about Hindi language or literature, but what Hindi language and its literature deem to teach or express. Getting stuck in spellings and syntax seems like your world, so I'd leave you to that, and that is why I am vary of proponents of any litertaure, language or even culture. I am interested in the humanity expressed in the literature of a language, not a language per se. (Ekabhishek (talk) 05:52, 11 May 2008 (UTC))

Sumitkumar kataria (talk) 04:23, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Jaimini and his works

{{helpme}} Somehow the biography page Jaimini is a redirect from Purva Mimamsa Sutras which was one of his works. Now I want to create a separate article of the text. If you can remove redirect, do tell me how you did it. Thanks.

Click on the wiki link to Purva Mimamsa Sutras. At the top of the resultant page, there's a "(Redirected from Mimamsa Sutras)". Click on the link to Purva Mimamsa Sutras there. Happy editing. KTC 07:41, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Haridwar

Hello. I was copyediting the Haridwar article today, and I noticed the "Places of Interest" section. I'm thinking that this section seems a bit like advertising to me, but I'm not completely positive as I'm not an expert on this subject. I saw that you have made many edits to it, so I wanted to hear your input. *Cremepuff222* 14:40, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Naseem

I want to create a page for the National Film Award winning film Naseem, but it is marked for a UK sportsperson, how to demarcate it differently.

You would then need to create a disambiguation page. There is tons of information about that here. If you have any other questions, please leave them on my talk page or re add the {{helpme}} tag. - Rjd0060 15:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You could create the article at Naseem (film). It may be appropriate at some point in the near future to make a disambiguation page for all the "Naseem"s we have articles on at Naseem (disambiguation), but that'll require a bit of work. I may try to do it later today if I find time. Anyway, you can check Wikipedia:Disambiguation for more information on this. Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:26, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Just so you're aware, I've created the disambiguation page, at Naseem (disambiguation). It's already got a link to Naseem (film), so everything's set up for your article. Good luck with it! Hersfold (t/a/c) 18:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a ton! :) How about creating an article on Social political films of Indian Cinema, we have a long list starting with Neecha Nagar (1941), Dharti Ke Lal, Do Bigha Zamin, Garam Hawa, Naseem...films by Bimal Roy, Chetan Anand, or KA Abbas..Any sugesstions? Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Party.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Party.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:57, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy Delete

A tag has been placed on Aakrosh (1980 film), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please do not remove the speedy delete tag. Follow the instructions on the tag if you wish to dispute. will381796 (talk) 18:01, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

NOW CHECK!Aakrosh (1980 film) (Ekabhishek (talk) 18:50, 9 December 2007 (UTC)) Thank God some sensible administrator stepped in and corrected your overzealous vigillantism. Take it easy. (Ekabhishek (talk) 03:47, 10 December 2007 (UTC))

  • I'm not attacking your article or being a vigilante. I patrol the newly created articles becase many...MANY...articles are created which are either inappropriate or unsuitable for WP. Cite your sources and assert notability and there will be no problem with your article. Primarily, cite sources for each of the awards that you claim the film won. Winning these awards would make this film notable. will381796 (talk) 04:02, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Copy-and-paste move

Hey. Just wanted to let you know that the best way to move or rename a page is to click the move tab at the top of the page. Copying-and-pasting the page breaks up the edit history, something that is required in order to comply with the GFDL. I've gone ahead and fixed it for you. Oh, one other thing: if you can't move the page, you can always leave a note at WP:Requested moves to get it done. Cheers, WODUP 07:51, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Hindi template

Can you tell me why you added Pahari languages, Angika, Magahi, etc. to the Hindi template when they have nothing to do with Hindi? Maquahuitltalk! 15:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Just as other languages in the template, these too are dialects of Hindi, and thus need to be mentioned collectively in the template, also refer to the lead article of the template, Hindi languages. (Ekabhishek (talk) 17:07, 15 May 2008 (UTC))

They are not dialects of Hindi. They are not even in the same Indo-Aryan group as Hindi. Maquahuitltalk! 16:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Pl. refer to the lead article: Hindi languages, I am only using that as a reference, and the Category:Dialects of Hindi. (Ekabhishek (talk) 03:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC))
Yes, look at that article under the heading "dialects". And about the category, well that category after a discussion on some talk page by Dbachmann or perhaps someone else. After that, Faizhaider again created it. Maquahuitltalk! 06:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Categorization hierarchy

Please avoid redundant categorization, as e.g. here and in many others of your edits. Thus, Category:Brahmanas is already in Category:Sanskrit literature, via Category:Sanskrit texts, and there is no need to add Category:Sanskrit literature to an article already in Category:Brahmanas, or Category:Vedas etc. All this achieves is creating a messy tangle of category hierarchies. Thanks, --dab (𒁳) 15:27, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

hello, no award has been declared so far for 2007 film. Film pulijanmam is released in 2006 and this time we are expecting two consecutive award declaration. Information.svg Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Louise Hay, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. What part of "Hay recounted her life story in an interview" did you fail to comprehend? This material is explicitly autobiographical -- and thus a "primary source". HrafnTalkStalk 16:49, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Your work on the article does not seem to be constructive at all, rather seems dubious, like your intentions, which seem to be targeted more at destroying the article, than adding anything worthwhile. Moreover an autobiographical article is first person, while the present section is clearly in third person, what part of that you didn't understand?!

As for the source article, it is published in a third party source, which is The New York Times, and written by a noted journalist, and not at all autobiographical, is it so hard for you get it??

(Ekabhishek (talk) 06:24, 15 June 2008 (UTC))

Stop being tendentious -- the source explicitly states that the material is autobiographical, placing it under the statement:

Over the next hour and a half, Hay told me the story familiar to tens of millions of her devoted readers.

Is this the way you Hrafn, get ahead in life by being vicious? Your debating power aside, it only goes on to make a sad statement about you as a human being...I leave you, to you devices...(Ekabhishek (talk) 13:03, 15 June 2008 (UTC))

Replaceable fair use Image:Caroline Myss.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Caroline Myss.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. Since Dalits are not a united community, and there is considerable ambiguity as to who is a Dalit I propose two things: First that "dalit activist", etc be moved to category:Dalit rights activists (along the line of Category:Women's rights activists) and that the marking of people as "dalit" be done on a list. Dalit is not an ethnic group or race or religion so it makes no sense to categorize on what basically is a label.Pectoretalk 23:32, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Dalit, is a social category, and now a very well defined one, especially after the demarcation of Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes by Constitution of India, so no ambiguity there, what so ever! (Ekabhishek (talk) 15:12, 4 September 2008 (UTC))

RFC Bates method article

I am contacting you quite randomly. For the following reason. The reason is the Bates method article, which in my opinion is edited by parties who are far from objective. Most logical associated party ophthalmology or a group focussed on just being skeptic. I am hoping for your comment on some current essential and interesting issues. Issues in which presenting objective strong arguments are completely neglected and ignored. If you have time and are willing to share you opinion and arguments, please do. My goal is to come to some kind of decision tool. By clearly stating if an argument is valid or not by the objective editor. My request is also to give a weight-factor for example between 1 and 10. For exmple1 for a valid argument but not very important and 10 for a very important argument. And zero for a fake-argument. Please feel free to comment and look at the current three RFC. Nr 1, Nr 2 and Nr 3 on the talkpage of the Bates method article. Seeyou (talk) 20:52, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

This really turned out to be Random, as I have no clue regarding the subject, and hence am not a suitable party to comment thereof, cheers. (Ekabhishek (talk) 04:44, 10 October 2008 (UTC))

Splitting Indian film actors

Hi Ekabhishek. Dude what are you doing? Indian film actors are categorised this way for a reason for nationality purposes. I know some actors work primarily in an industry such as Bollywood but many actors work in several of the industries and it can become complicated when you start primarily categorizing them by this. They should be categorized as A-Z in the main category for convenience purposes. I don't mind the sub categories existing by industry but not if this affects the main parent category. Please restore Category:Indian film actors to any you rmeoved this from. ThanksDr. Blofeld (talk) 13:07, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article Frank Nugent incomplete

Nuvola apps important blue.svg

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Frank Nugent to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 05:15, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

It seems my requested move wasn't incomplete or contested as you suggested, as by the time you posted this here, some else moved it already! :)(Ekabhishek (talk) 05:21, 8 November 2008 (UTC))
