1981 in country music

I just made the #1 singles table for 1981 in country music. I put down everything I know, could you verify everything, and also add the #1 song of the year because I have no idea what that is. Thank you, archiving your talk page was a good idea by the way. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 02:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I also made a #1 hits table for 1980 in country music. Can you verify the songs and add the #1 song of the year again. Thanks for all your help. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 20:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Canadian Country Chart

Howdy Eric!! I was wondering if you could add the Canadian charts for Big & Rich, and also Alabama? It'd be much appreciated! EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 00:38, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Sons of the Desert were indeed credited for "I Hope You Dance". See here. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 13:40, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Okay. I think it still counts, since Billboard credited them. 13:52, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Could you add the rest of Cristy Lane's singles. Don't worry about making a new singles table, I'll take care of that when you're done, thanks. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 20:06, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Diana Trask

Can you add the rest of Australian country singer (who had success here in the 70s), Diana Trask's singles? I only know of one, but I do know she had a bunch of Top 40, Top 20, and other hits that peaked outside the Top 40 in the late 60s, and through most of the 70s, and maybe the 80s. Thank you. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 21:43, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Could you also add the missing singles and the albums for Zella Lehr? I have a couple of her singles, but none of her albums, and I know there's singles and albums misisng. Thank you. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 01:39, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
It's ok, don't worry about the album listing, you did a good job. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 19:10, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Intros

You don't need to link everything in the intro. By having "American country music singer-songwriter", you end up with a big sea of blue that might be confusing to some. According to WP:OVERLINK, only the most important things should be linked. I'd link just the genre; also, I've started using "artist" instead of singer/songwriter since it's a little less ambiguous (for instance, is Keith Stegall a singer-songwriter just because he wrote some material?). Canadian peaks

I think that we should add the Canadian Number One and Top 25 hits to the other "years in country music" pages as well, like we've done with 2008 in country music. Do you think you can help me with that? I can fill in all the Number Ones from 1990 to the end of the RPM era (except for one week in '93, which is oddly missing from their archives). BlackHawk (band) vs. BlackHawk

Since you're one of the editors who suggested I fix the BlackHawk/BlackHawk (band) thing myself, what do you think? Does the band's page really need a "(band)" at the end or not? Canadian peaks

Okay. I might need help figuring out the first/last/only #1's for artists. By the way, if an artist doesn't have a page yet, you can leave their name as a red link, so we know which semi-important Canadian acts we're still missing. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 13:45, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I've completed all the #1's from 1990 to 1999. I still haven't yet added the Number One songs of the year, first/last #1's, etc. Maybe you can do that. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 17:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Yikes,we've got red links as recent as 1999, that's not good. I thought it was going to be difficult filling in all the artists who've had Top 40 hits on the US country charts for just 1990 onward (Michael White was really hard to find sources on!), but I did it. In fact, I think we've got every U.S. act who's had #50 or higher in the past 19 years except for Gabbie Nolen. I have a favor to ask, can you please verify if Crystal Gayle's singles on her discography page are in the correct order, if they're not can you please fix it, one user who thinks he owns Gayle's discography left me a nasty message on my talk page saying my singles' order was wrong and the way I capitalize certain letters in her singles chart is incorrect. Idea

I've noticed that almost all of the country music articles are in lousy shape. Given that the country music wikiproject is quite dead, I was thinking that you and I, along with some other editors, should start working together on one article at a time and trying to improve it to GA class or better. Maybe you, me, Caldorwards4, BravesFan2006, Dottiewest1fan and EnDaLeCoMpLeX can arrange our own little group.
