Could you please be so kind to give an explanation at the talk page of South India why you think those sections are not neutral? And could you also consider to agree with the removal of some pictures? There are too many now. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 12:25, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

How about creating User talk:Eshwar.om/Archive for messages you want to remove from your talk page? It gives other editors a quick overview of the response you've received (which they'll read anyway in the history-section, so "cleaning" is no use). A little help[edit]

Sorry to trouble you. But there is a particularly disruptive editor with whom i have had frequent run ins as he has been undoing my uploaded images without good reason other than ego. He has replaced a image that i had uploaded at Surat Railway station despite me tell him that he is wrong & why he is wrong also. The present image on Surat Railway station & Mumbai Rajdhani is exactly the same but still he refuses to listen & starts making accusations. Could you pls look into it? Clarification at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bangalore Tamils[edit]

Hello Eshwar, a few comments:

  • Unfortunately I think there is a little confusion of dialects with Bonker's phrase at top. When he said Although it is written in English, you might as well write in Tamil I believe what he meant was not "write a Tamil version" (though that is coincidentally a good thing too), but rather "You have written this in English, but since we are not all from Bangalore and familiar with this issue, an unfamiliar reader is so confused by this that it is as though it were in another language."
  • So what needs to happen is that you need to structure the article a little more clearly so that even someone unfamiliar with India would generally understand what is going on. The article starts too abruptly, referring to events a reader may be unfamiliar with. I suggest you start out at a much more basic level before going into details. Something like this:

The Bangalore Tamils are a social community of Tamil language speakers living in Bangalore, capital city of the Indian state of Karnataka. These Tamils initially came to Bangalore (when, in ancient history, in the 1700s? when?), because (why? war, looking for jobs, forcibly resettled?) and took on such-and-such roles and professions in the community...

Then after that, don't go into the extremely detailed info as to population, percentages, etc. But put that info further down under "Demographics" and in the intro simply describe broadly where in Banglore the Tamils live, without going into too much detail about non-Bangalore Tamils unless it is required background.

  • In addition to those content items, please also clean up your footnotes. Though many of them appear to be good sources, it is hard to see that because their descriptions are too sparse. Note at the top of your editing window is a button saying "Cite", that brings up a menu saying "templates" that gives you a form to fill out for a footnote (website, book, news, etc) where you can type in each detail. Please ensure that each footnote at minimum mentions the title of the article/page/book, author and publisher, and the date of the work. That way a reader can better understand your sourcing.

I hope this is clearer to you. If you have trouble with format or structure (rather than content), please check with WP:Teahouse to get technical advice. MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:27, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 10:00, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

That was the formal bit. I can see two ways forward - either delete entirely and start over, or stub it down to a couple of sentences in your own words and start over. My own practice when copying from another article is to put a link in the edit summary saying I've copied and pasted from [[this article]]. Dougweller (talk) 10:16, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Shiva[edit]

Hi Eshwar.om. I may have been to harsh in my reply to you regarding Shiva. Actually I found the information you added quite interesting, but fir another reason: it shows how Tamil-culture adapted to the dominant Brahmanic/Vedic culture, and legitimated it's own culture in a Brahmanic/Vedic framework. That's interesting, given the ongoing clashes between the dominant Brahmanic/neo-Vedanta view on Hinduism, and the submerged Tamil-culture. But to give this information in an article, you'd also have to explain this context - which might indeed be undue. It would fit in a paragraph on eventual Dravidian/Tamil origins of Shiva, if that's the origin of Shiva. Take care with your edits, and try to talk when irritations arise. Greetings, Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 06:12, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Warning icon Hello Eshwar.om, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Tamils in Bangalore has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. and the earlier version Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bangalore Tamils Thank you. Your recent editing history at Rakshasa shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Hi Eshwar.om, I've reverted you at the above article in part because of the issues mentioned in the note above. I'm off to bed now but I'll try to sort it all out tomorrow. Please could you note that the lead section of articles is intended to summarise all the stuff that we say later in the article, so your additions were poorly placed. Hopefully, I can sort it all out for you but I'll need to check the sources that you cited. One real positive is that you did cite sources - far too many people do not even do that! - Sitush (talk) 00:52, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Actually, it turns out that I cannot see many of the sources that you cite and, worse, you have been copying material without attribution. For example, some of this edit was previously inserted by you here and in turn that can be seen on the web at places such as this. Whether or not that is itself a copy of an older version of an article on Wikipedia is something that I've not yet figured out but I note that the words also appear at Bhakti. At best, you have added to a considerable mess; at worse, you have caused it.
I'm afraid that you are going to have to rewrite your addition using your own words. The sources themselves seem to be ok - university presses etc - but untangling what has gone on is an unfair burden to place on others. - Sitush (talk) 11:41, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Well, its my mistake to not have posted a notice on your talk page. But nothing has been harmed for you to create such a fuss about it. I posted the ANI report, you replied to it in two hours without any other editor replying to it before you, you already got the notification through WP:ECHO. Only fault was that the talk page post was not present but the main intention of notifying you was well served through other means. Now please buckle up for the ANI. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:19, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
cool Dharmadhyaksha iam not blaming anybody.i told what has happaned.:).Eshwar.omTalk tome 05:54, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

What you think ?to Redtigerxyz"""(link4).but i blocked by Bbb23.after seeing Bbb23's talk page i was shocked .yes admins taking each other about me before this block.yes with out knowing my point or with out knowing what exactly going over Hinduism related articles by user redtiger, with out knowing all this, only with good faith user Dougwelle)r talking about me in Bbb23 's talk page.even he did not say that matter to me.(link 6).i wont ask why about this two admins talk. but yes iam saying. Please thing all .reconsider my unblock request.Personally i am believe that i am helpless now.Still i believe Wikipedia is realiable.Because i want to contribute more. Also i have to create some articles.so this also will going to include with my articles list.because i did't really expect this block.but time is giving more lesson for me.like all..i hope so.so said. Now no words to say more.thank you..Eshwar.omTalk tome 19:35, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
