Hi, regarding your note that all information in the article comes from the subject himself, you need to read WP:Verifiability and WP:Reliable sources. In short, because we don't know Mr Daugherty and we don't know you, we need to rely on published sources so that anyone can verify the contents if they so choose. Otherwise, there's no way for anyone to know that you're not just making it up. Can you please provide references (in the form of footnotes -- see WP:Citing sources) to published sources? Speedy deletion of Fire and Blood[edit]

- If you intend to add information verbatim from another website, you'll want to have a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and follow the instructions above. However, even with properly documented permission to post such information, we still need reliable, independent sources to document the facts of the article. Are there news articles or industry sources about the work? In the absence of sources to establish notability, unfortunately, it is likely that the article would be deleted. Conflict of interest[edit]
If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Fire and Blood, you may have a conflict of interest. Copyright violation in Jackie O (the opera) and other articles[edit]
I have removed the entire "Note by Composer" section. It was pasted in verbatim from a copyright web site: http://www.michaeldaugherty.net/description.cfm?trackid=115. I see that you have also done this for several other compositions by Daugherty, e.g. Bells for Stokowski, UFO (composition), Dead Elvis (composition), Metropolis Symphony, Niagara Falls (composition). Please remove the material from those articles and please read the links concerning copyright policy on Wikipedia that other editors have left on this page. Also, if you are Michael Daugherty, someone acting on his behalf, or someone with a personal or business relationship to him, you have a clear conflict of interest which you should declare on the talk pages of any articles concerning him or his compositions that you have edited. Update: Since no effort has been made to remove the copyvio material from the composition articles. They have now been replaced by copyright infringement notices and notified to Wikipedia:Copyright problems:

- Dead Elvis (composition) (history · last edit) from [3].
- UFO (composition) (history · last edit) from [4].
- Bells for Stokowski (history · last edit) from [5].
If you wish to rewrite the articles, follow the instructions on each article for creating a temporary page. But note that they must not contain any verbatim material from other copyright web sites (including Michael Daugherty's), they must be referenced to verifiable, reliable sources, which are independent of the composer to establish the work's notability, and they must be written in the third person in an encyclopedic style, not as personal reflections. Any link to the composer's web site must be to the exact page where the information can be found, not simply to the home page. However, this is problematic since if you are Michael Daugherty or are his representative as this edit seems to indicate, repeatedly adding links to his web site, especially since that site has links for purchasing his recordings, would normally be considered spamming by Wikipedia. See Advertising and conflicts of interest for guidance on what to do in this situation. You might also find it helpful to contact the Wikipedia Contemporary Music Project for guidance on style, or help with editing in these circumstances. Hello there. This is a message from Ethreinen. I am the one that has been working on the Michael Daugherty site. I have been out of town a few days and see that much has been done to his site and the links. Reading what you have written here (above, regarding the updates), I understand better why you have removed the various material. Please know that there is no malice in any way on my part or the intentions of the composer, himself, in creating the article and links. This process is a new one for me, as I have never written articles for WIKIPEDIA. Therefore, I am learning about the rules and regulations. I will be spending more time reading the information above - about citations and conflict of interest - and will redo the material in the manner that you suggested. In regards to Michael Daugherty's main page, please do not yet delete this, as I am still trying to understand how to appropriately cite material about a living person (I am a little confused by the information from WIKI). - Hi, I've replied on my talk page more fully since you also posted your queries there. But no one is going to delete the Michael Daugherty article, although others may edit it, as happens with all Wikipedia articles. The composition articles will probably be reduced to stubs, or possibly deleted by an administrator if there is no salvageable non-copyright material in them, but by not me, I'm not an administrator). Your deletion of comments from Talk:Michael Daugherty[edit]
Article talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments by other editors is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. I have restored my comments. Please do not remove them again. It is legitimate to remove a banner, but you need to note and justify your reasons on the talk page of the actual article, not on the talk page of one of the editors.
