Speedy deletion nomination of The Amazing Race Canada 1

Hello EuroCarGT,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Amazing Race Canada 1 for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ghostboy1997 (talk) 17:14, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey, The Amazing Race Canada is already set up. There is no proof that a 2nd season is in the works so there is no real reason to have a separate article yet. Please do not recreate The Amazing Race Canada 1 as a separate article.—Ryulong (琉竜) 19:36, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

This is my first time making an article, but I've edited before may times.— Preceding unsigned comment added by EuroCarGT (talkcontribs)
Well, in this case the article is not necessary as another takes it place. I know TARFrance and TARPhilippines have two pages set up. I would not have done that for Philippines eyt, but France has a season 2 ordered, while Canada is only the one season right now. When season 2 happens for Canada, things will be split off like the other pages. For now, let experienced editors deal with these things rather than copying everything from one page to another.—Ryulong (琉竜) 20:12, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Is it possible to hold off a page until the future and make it public or something. I understand where your coming from. User:EuroCarGT 20:15, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
No, not really. It can be deleted now and remade later if necessary.—Ryulong (琉竜) 03:29, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Okay then. Thanks for the advice and stuff EuroCarGT (talk) 04:16, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

CSD tagging

Hey Thomas! I saw you marked Harjot bhinder for speedy deletion as an A7 (not notable) and A1 (no context) deletion. The A7 tag was absolutely correct - this subject is in no way notable. However, it really didn't need an A1 tag because there was enough context for me to understand that there was a subject and he was definitely not notable. A1 deletions are usually even shorter (e.g. "Harjot is awesome."). Don't fret too much - just thought you'd appreciate a little feedback. Feel free to ask me if you ever have questions! Hello, EuroCarGT. You requested deletion of Aaqib A., it did give his importance. He was a famous Quran Recitor, soccer president and establisher. And that was quick, you guys didn't let me have time. --Raninghai (talk) 21:31, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

CSD of Epilepsy surgery and art

The speedy delete template you have applied Epilepsy surgery and art isn't applicable, I'm afraid. It explicitly states that it is for cases "where there is no free-content material on the page worth saving," and that is not the case here. I'll tag it as a copy paste lead, thoughShawn in Montreal (talk) 21:45, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

  • It was just a revert. I did not applied the sppedy deletion tag, I was just in Recent Changes, insert the Special:Tags of speedy deletion tag removal and found the article the I'd just restored it. Sorry to confuse you. EuroCarGT 22:09, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Tagging too fast

You tagged Ishaan Sarna as a {{db-test}} two seconds after it was created. That may have been hasty and bitey; the user may have been building the page incrementally (discouraged, but not strictly disallowed) and just committed his first edit when you tagged the article. Admittedly, it looks like the user was writing an autobiography, and it was unlikely the resultant article would have met muster, but you should assume good faith and allow the user some time to do their work. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:06, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

  • Alrighty then! I apologize for the fast tagging. Just trying to help Wikipedia out. EuroCarGT 15:08, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
    • All help is appreciated. (I note that I am particularly attuned to this issue, having been guilty of it myself in the past.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:13, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Edit-a-thon for Ramona Park

Hello -

I am working with the East Grand Rapids MI Public Library as they embark on a GLAM project. I'm a mid-newbie, which is why I'm reaching out....

East Grand Rapids was the home to Ramona Park and to the Jack Rabbit Derby Racer [1]. As a kick-off project they would like to expand Ramona Park during an edit-a-thon. The Library is home to a local history room - a room filled to the ceiling with memorabilia, photos and artifacts from Ramona Park.

The plan is to upload much of this material via Commons (hopefully before the edit-a-thon on October 19, 2013 - coincidentally during Wikipedia Loves Libraries month).

One problem - there are few locally evident Wikipedia editors to actually show up at the library for an edit-a-thon.

Do you think if we set up a Google hangout, you might be interested enough to remote in? There is a possibility of a cool tee-shirt [2] donated by the library, too!

I might be able to provide you/this project with a preview of the historical materials - it seems to me there might be more than one article to create.

Also I've come up with a DYK candidate: Did you know that President Gerald Ford worked at Ramona Park, home to one of three derby racers in the US? (The Ford part is true, not quite sure of the derby racer stat, though!)

Thanks for your consideration, Bdcousineau (talk) 00:01, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Seems cool and interesting, however with school coming in a few days I'll be extremely busy! ///EuroCarGT 16:08, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

You reverted an edit to Outlaw motorcycle club " Many find a fulfilling identity in their fantasy persona in the biker culture"

You recently reverted an edit without including a reason. I hope your reason is not because the statement does not portray the subject matter the way you would like it to. The statement may not be flattering to fans of the culture but it is correct. It is a basic statement regarding human behavior. I can bring in the social and psychological editors into the discussion if you find it to be a non-objective statement to reach a consensus. Many people assume other identities for psychological reasons and a psychological book could be written about the Outlaw culture. The phenomenon is not peculiar to this group. Dungeons and Dragons and other fantasy personas are similar. Many internet gamers will also find the fantasy persona as psychologically fulfilling. The reasons are many among them are the sense of power given to people who otherwise feel powerless in their jobs and life. It can also apply to many wiki editors who believe they exert power and control over others as fulfilling themselves psychologically .

Hello! Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia! It seems like you have an issue with a recent revert I did. Please don't feel offended. However before my revert ClueBot NG reverted the same edit you made as possible vandalism or edit issues. ClueBotNG makes little to few mistakes on detecting issues on edits here. I was using a anti-vandal tool and detected your edit as a minor issue, therefore I reverted it. If you think it was a mistake discuss it here which you did and just revert my revert to let other users review your edit. However you got to remember that you must cite your sources. Please read: WP:FORUM for more information on primary research.
Also note; editing with no reason is accepted here. Edit summaries are optional but is encouraged. I do assume good faith, however that to is optional. What I did was a regular revert and not a type of revert which would send a warning template to your talk page. Again sorry for this issue, however you do need to cite your sources on most edits and state your edit in a neutral point of view. ///EuroCarGT 01:36, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

No issue with your right to revert however it does seem you are rather quick to revert after reading your talk page and looking at how fast you reverted previous articles. That is something you should consider. The reason for adding to the article was to supplement the previous sentence and there is even a notice that the article needs improvement which I did. The real reason for others deletion is because of the accuracy of the statement and the denial of the psychological reasoning for joining groups by some involved in groups. I am not claiming that as your viewpoint because you did not take the time to exam the edit before reverting. It does make the "meatheads" out there who want to deny that their reason for joining that group can be accurately summarized in what they consider an unflattering reason. This is why wiki will always fail in its mission because people can change without reason or logic simply for their own unfounded reasons. I will get of my soap box now. Have a good day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.40.234 (talk) 03:23, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Alrighty!! I do view edits, if a user reverts a edit without looking at it, your most likely going to get blocked for "disruptive editing". Everybody has different reading capabilities, some people read quickly, some slowly, I read every edit keenly and make sure it doesn't contain vandalism, content issues and etc. Wiki will not fail, let me tell you that, Wikipedia is one of the Top 10 most visited sites in the world, no even close to failing. You should go to Special:RecentChanges and see how many edits don't have reasons and summary. Remember there optional. ///EuroCarGT 03:32, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I am not the only one who has noticed. Time stamps tell the truth. You also failed to comprehend what I said. "fail in its mission" is not the same as Wiki failing as a web site. I was very specific and you read it broadly. This is more evidence against your hasty edits. Slow down and read two or three times and make sure you comprehend before you change or I will smack your hands with a ruler. Just kidding about the last part but it is better to take your time and be accurate. You did correctly identify disruptive editing as a resolution. I am only here anonymously due to the meatheads in the very unscholarly article I added to. We can go back and forth but it serves no further purpose. So once again Good Day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.40.234 (talk) 04:35, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Well, that's some what correct, first off look at the page first, look for issues and problems such as not cites (references), stub, violates BLP, has a neutral point-of-view and etc., then you could discuss these issues by placing tags or talking to the author, then confirm review. ///EuroCarGT 01:25, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Lolita dresses

Hi, You removed my item on the website LolitaDresses.com. I disagree completely and believe that you had no right in removing this item, that it is a valid item for inclusion in Wikipedia. The website mirrors the term "lolita dress" and as such is the main online reference point for people wanting to acquire Lolita dresses. The website displays and reflects the variety of garments available in the marketplace under the breath of Lolita style dresses and shows historic reference to recycled garments from the 50s and 60s that are categorised under this style. As such it is more of a reference point for Lolita dresses than Wikipedia. Please reinstate this item. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.168.208.242 (talk) 02:07, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, The reason why I've been posting the link on the page (The Looney Tunes Show) is because I'm trying to get people to save the show because I heard that it got cancelled. If you don't mind me by asking how come I can't leave it on the page.

Thank You, Please reply back — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.14.77.88 (talk) 23:06, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia! You can't put links promoting any website in Wikipedia. Especially the ones you put on the page. It promotes a online petition per WP:EL and WP:ELNO states 4. Links mainly intended to promote a website, including online petitions. See external link spamming. Also read: Wikipedia:REFSPAM for more information. I understand you don't want the show to be cancel so do I cause I watched that show when I was a kid, however spam and promotional content is not to be placed here. Thank you. ///EuroCarGT 23:11, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Thank You for telling me, I had no idea about that but did you want to sign it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.14.77.88 (talk) 23:24, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

I'll pass on that. Good luck though. ///EuroCarGT 23:27, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Need practice using the talk page

Hi - I was the one who accidentally deleted material from the article on Electrostatics. My original intent was to copy and edit material to be distributed for my students, but then the "bug" to improve Wikipedia bit me and I decided to edit the article on Electrostatics. Please let me know if there is anything wrong Guy vandegrift (talk) 02:51, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

help with USP pages

hi there,

I am the webmaster at USP and i was making some updates which you have removed. Can you guide me on what i did wrong? thanks in advance.
Hello! I reverted your edits because you added unsource content and content that is not stated in a neutral point-of-view. ///EuroCarGT 21:23, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for this. I was trying to figure out how to reference that SP by linking it but when i got there, the section was gone. But what about the regional campus links. they were correct and relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by USPWebmaster (talkcontribs) 21:29, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Not sure why you removed the information about Annette Dubas being a candidate for Governor

Please explain before removing again. This is important information that should be in the tagline of her profile. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NEImport (talkcontribs) 23:16, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello and Welcome! The information needs to be cited using appropriate sources, you just placed a link to another Wikipedia page. You could learn how to cite your sources at WP:CITESHORT or Citing Sources tutorial. Or you could use internal links to the page that is appropriate and related to the article. I'll be glad to help you in the article! ///EuroCarGT 23:26, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
I fixed it up adding an internal link. You could view the edit [4] ///EuroCarGT 23:33, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you very much for your help! I spent some time (well, just 5-10 min, to be honest with you) to figure out how to delete the page. And I did not figure out. So, I just went ahead to remove the article. I wanted to make it more complete and consistent with Dansk version which I'm working with another person. But I suppose it is OK to resume the post in English for the time being. Thanks again for your input. Ak1998 (talk) 02:16, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

No problem. I reverted your edit cause you can't blank pages without a proper reasoning. You could learn more at Page Blanking. ///EuroCarGT 02:24, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Glitch Art

Hello I believe you may have made a mistake in removing the external link. The link went to a blog post with pictures of glitch art rendered from the new Google maps api. This gives users a perfect example of 3-D glitch art that can happen with mapping software. The post is original, transparent, and shows users a new perspective on glitch art, I would really appreciate it if you put it back up. Here is the link again, for your approval. http://miklinseo.com/glitch-art/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.229.194.191 (talk) 05:44, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello! This is an encyclopedia, not a site where you could promote a site. Another user also reverted your edit as Spam. ///EuroCarGT 14:38, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Mékinac

I'm not sure why you reverted my edits to Mékinac. It was an extremely poor disambiguation page, violating numerous guidelines from WP:MOSDAB. olderwiser 15:03, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

My apologies. Feel free to revert it. I didn't see that the page was poorly written, however you removed content, that's what made me worried. ///EuroCarGT 15:05, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Please Try to Understand

EuroCarGT,

I am not frustrated in any manner because the fact is fact. The block on me from adding content was lifted and I have reverted Deepa’s(my wife) marital status in the Article. The fact is that from the beginning, when I created the article, the marital status was there for three years. Now you started to edit the article even after giving you enough links to prove marital status. Still you revert the article by hiding the fact that Deepa is married to me, I think you have some personal interest in this matter. This will affect the credibility of encyclopedia. Most of the people depending on the information provided by Wikipedia and trust it. By the action your kind of editors, without knowing the fact directly, will lead to misunderstandings. So, kindly try to be self controlled while editing the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Please do not allow to reflect your emotional jousters on hard core information. If you can’t understand the language in the YouTube links which are given for citation, you can ask for a marriage certificate which is in English. I can provide it through a personal email. My mail Id is anto.pandeth@gmail.com, or you can contact me on my phone. Please feel free to send your email address to me if you want to see the marriage certificate. I hope this statement will help me.

that is NOT NPOV was the explanation

The removal of the prejudicial section headers was explained, please retract your statement and remove the section headers, thank you!

Sportfan5000 (talk) 21:55, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello! NPOV is only for Wikipedia articles, not talk pages. Unfortunately your removal of headers in a talk page was nonconstructive as it was part of a discussion. Headers also keeps the page organized. NPOV has nothing to do with headers. ///EuroCarGT 22:01, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Let it go

I have every right to delete content that is not sourced, as any and all that is on that page is pure speculation. Until, you provide ACTUAL proof that what is there is indeed legit, let it go. Sorry you are such a blind fan you can't realize truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theahamay (talkcontribs) 00:16, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of information sourced from places outside of wikipedia itself. It does not claim knowledge onto any specific event or thing, it simply states and collects the knowledge we already have. You dont call Gabe Newell anything else but "Gabe Newell", because that is his given name, not the one 'wikipedia' decided he would have. So please, stop editing my changes. I am simply stating the name that the creators of DotA gave to DotA. You wouldn't vandalize someones birth name, or IP name such as "DotA," so why would you vandalize other names associated with the IP? Its non-sensible and dishonest as an editor. I have provided my relevant sources, one by third party, and one by the first party that created the IP. I have followed all guidelines as presented by wikipedia, however, I am still being vandalized because people who do not understand DotA, are editing DotA. The fact is, the genre is ARTS, the whole community of DotA2 uses ARTS, other gaming forums use ARTS (see: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/tag/dota-2/), the owner of the IP uses ARTS, because it is not a 'moba. Other games may be, but DotA2 is an ARTS, as by nomenclature, by assignment of the IP holders, and by transivity as I have stated above. Thank you for your time, I hope I have convinced you to stop the edit war. Correctingsomestuff —Preceding undated comment added 01:30, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

American Military University

Hi there,

I am an alumni of AMU and am heading up a project wherein I am creating pages for both AMU and APU. I have created an entire article...minus the sources (have not gone back through to add yet) and am trying to figure out how we can merge these pages since you control the redirect. APUS will serve as a splash page of sorts but I will be unable to post my finished AMU article (when I am done) because it says the name is already in use. How can we do this? When I get done can we simply copy and past all that I have put together and then slap it on your AMU page and if so will it then be the first wiki page to pop up when someone searches "American Military University"?

Thanks, JBullins (talk) 01:57, 17 September 2013 (UTC)JBullins

Hello and Welcome! Once you create the other page(s), and your article has been accepted and reviewed, then you could feel free to remove the re-direct, for now leave it there, until your project is finished. ///EuroCarGT 02:01, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Right but will it let me submit the page with the title American Military University despite the name being held via the redirect? Or will I just have to name it something like "AMU" to get it approved? Confused as to that part.

Thanks, JBullins (talk) 02:15, 17 September 2013 (UTC)JBullins

I'll take a look at it and come back with a response. ///EuroCarGT 02:28, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Oh, it's currently in Articles for creation so it's pending review. ///EuroCarGT 02:36, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I understand about removing an unnecessary link - thank you for the information. However, the update itself does not appear, even without the links - why is that?

Hello and Welcome! I removed your edit as it appeared to be spam and it violates the external links policy. ///EuroCarGT 23:10, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Assume good faith and please do not bite the newcomers. The edits don't look like vandalism or editing tests, more likely a user who doesn't know of the policies here. Peter James (talk) 23:53, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
Apologies for that, using Huggle and there's no option where you could revert for adding bad disambiguation page content. I also Assume good faith, be nice and welcome the new! ///EuroCarGT 23:56, 19 September 2013 (UTC)
There should be an option to view the user talk page and edit from there. A template exists, so you could suggest adding it to the options in Huggle. Peter James (talk) 00:22, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I mostly use Twinkle to post up advanced warnings! ///EuroCarGT 00:24, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
