Ardfinnan Castle[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ardfinnan Castle, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ardfinnan.net/castle.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:07, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Fernando, Could I ask you why you removed my cite and replaced it with another? (Off2riorob (talk) 21:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)) Link error so placed what looked like a better cite link in its place, no other reason :)

Oh right. Thanks, I can see it now. Regards. (Off2riorob (talk) 21:48, 29 June 2009 (UTC))

Speedy deletion nomination of 2009 Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on 2009 Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. sixtynine • spill it • 19:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

File:2009 All Ireland Final teams marching before game.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:2009 All Ireland Final teams marching before game.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:42, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Rashed Al Hooti[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Rashed Al Hooti has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. My76Strat 19:22, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Husain Ali Hasan[edit]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Husain Ali Hasan, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.pakmdb.com/soundfc.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Autopatrolled[edit]

Wikipedia Autopatrolled.svg

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page
  • If, for any reason, you decide you do not want the permission, let me know and I can remove it
If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:58, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Consistent date formats[edit]

Hello, and thanks for adding a reference to Keith Fahey. You may be unaware that the Manual of Style requires us to be consistent about the formatting of dates within articles and within reference sections: please see MOS:DATE#Format consistency. When the references in an article are all consistently formatted, as in the case of Keith Fahey as day-month-year, please stick with that format, even if it's not your format of choice. Thanks, Struway2 (talk) 09:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Same point, but for 2011 Gent–Wevelgem and 2011 Tour of Flanders. Don't add your own formats to the article, follow the consistency. Thank you. Cs-wolves(talk) 22:16, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Copyright problems[edit]

Your addition to Long Run (horse) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

This does not appear to be the only violation. I have just removed half the Hurricane Fly article for the same reasons. And most of Miinnehoma. I am afraid further action may be required. wjematherbigissue 18:18, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

OK Will ensure in future that no copyright material is used --Fernandosmission (talk) 21:30, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
That's great. Of course I will still need to go though your past contributions to ensure any other problems get fixed. Hopefully there won't be too many. I'm really busy in real life at the moment, but will let you know how it goes when I get enough time to get stuck into it. wjematherbigissue 22:10, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and keep up the good work adding references. wjematherbigissue 22:21, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Block[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Philip Greene. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Evilphoenix Talk 19:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Fernandosmission, I have spent some time reviewing your edit history in an effort to determine if you should be granted Autopatrolled status. You have previously been granted Autopatrol, but subsequently that permission has been removed. I feel at this time you are still not ready for Autopatrol status. You appear to be making a sincere effort to add useful, well formatted information to Wikipedia. Thank you. I believe that you mean well, but you must come to a better understanding of Wikipedia editing policies, particularly with Copyright. You have created multiple copyright issues in various articles, some of which you have corrected after being contacted by other users. I have reviewed the various articles previously mentioned on your Talk Page, and the vast majority of those have either been mistakes on the part of the automatic copyvio bot, incorrectly placed speedy deletion tags, or in cases of actual error on your part, you have made efforts to correct and improve your editing practices. Thank you for that. However, in the case of Philip Greene, your additions consisted of copy and pasted text that was only slightly changed from the original source. This is unacceptable. Please spend time reviewing the copyright policy, in particular sections dealing with copying and pasting text. In general, you need to re-word text much more carefully before adding it to Wikipedia. I will be asking some other editors to investigate the pages you created, as I do not have time to fully check your work at this time. I believe that you are a good editor, that you intend to help the project, and that you will become a great asset to Wikipedia. Thank you again for your contributions, however this copyright issue is very serious and must be remedied if you are to continue participating on Wikipedia. Best regards, Evilphoenix Talk 19:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Stephen Lillis[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stephen Lillis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Reichsfürst (talk) 20:26, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Cheers episode to consider creating[edit]

I have been spending a lot of time lately creating and modifying templates for critically acclaimed episode articles. You have already created "Give Me a Ring Sometime". It has come to my attention that one of the most critically acclaimed episodes in television history is another Cheers episode entitled "Woody Interruptus". It appears on {{DirectorsGuildofAmericaOutstandingDirectingComedySeries 1990–2009}} and {{EmmyAward ComedyDirector 1976–2000}}. You may also note several other critically acclaimed Cheers episodes at Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing – Comedy Series that were either nominees or winners. You may want to consider creating some of those as well.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:52, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Wikilinking[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

Thanks and my best wishes.

Placement of citations[edit]

Thanks for adding citations to Wikipedia, such as your recent edits to 2014 NBA All-Star Game. However, please be aware of WP:INTEGRITY, which says sources added should support the sentence(s) that precede it. In this case, the existing ESPN.com reference supported the text, whereas your added citations did not support e.g. "11 All-Star records that were broken in the game." I've moved your added references to the end of the paragraph, so others can use them to expand the article. Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 23:50, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia and attribution[edit]

Hello, and thank you for creating Birmingham City F.C. in European football. What you may not be aware of is that when copying within Wikipedia, i.e. when creating or improving an article by copying content from an existing page, we're required to note that we've done so, to make ensure all contributions are properly attributed. Check out the page WP:CWW for details. I've fixed it now, and no harm done, but it's something to remember in case you create another article in similar fashion in the future. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:56, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
