Notice to those making comments here[edit]

In accordance with Wikipedia policy, I can maintain my user page as I see fit, as can anyone else. If I don't like or agree with what you have to say, I will read it, and delete it. Also, I may delete comments simply because after reading them, I don't wish to have them cluttering up this page. Eventually, even comments that I have no problem with will be deleted to make room for new comments, and keep this page a manageable size. Generally, I would say that if you wish to take issue with my edits, do so on the talk pages of the articles in question. Friendly inquiries or comments are certainly welcome here. DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query On 29 March, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jonah of Manchuria, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Reference[edit]

One of the things you said recently made me think I might not have been clear when I spoke of these edits which add a primary source reference. It is only value is that it works to support the secondary source. Nothing I said about the reference should be taken to add any weight to the reference beyond what is offered by policy "Any interpretation of primary source material requires a reliable secondary source for that interpretation." see the full text at WP:PSTS. If you beleive there are more appropriate references to use for the text in question, you should continue to work towards that solution. Jeepday (talk) 04:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sola Scriptura[edit]

I've read a Russian translation of your book, and I must say that is a very competent exploration of common Protestant fallacies. Finding you on Wikipedia was completely unexpected, and I'm taking advantage of this opportunity to thank you for creating such a convincing treatise and proving that Orthodox Christianity is a truly universal religion. Thank you. I actually composed that article with the intention of having it translated into Russian. I wrote it right after the Soviet Union collapsed, and there was flood of Protestant missionaries, and unfortunately the Church there had not had a chance to recover from the persecution under the Soviets, nor were they prepared for American folk religion. I am happy to hear that you found it useful. Frjohnwhiteford (talk) 00:51, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

is there an Orthodox (English-language) equivalent for "restricted from all priestly ministries" - when talking of a priest or bishop? I mean the status when one is forbedden from service but not defrocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.118.179.115 (talk) 20:16, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one else will[edit]

Hey Father I am requesting your input into the issue being arrised at the renaming of the Eastern Orthodox article. Due to the Roman Catholic church article and all article references of the Roman Catholic church in Wikipedia being now rename from Roman Catholic to Catholic Church. It appears that everyone else (including us Orthodox) are now outside and not part of the Catholic Church. It makes the part of the creed "One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church" seem to not include us. A Romanian brother (Cody 77) has attempted to rename the Eastern Orthodox article something that reflects that we as Orthodox are Catholic, and as you can see from the article discussion several Roman Catholic are now very active in this discussion are very clearly disagree. LoveMonkey (talk) 12:37, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns with the referencing which you can see at Talk:Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Spring[edit]

Regarding: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Spring,_Texas&diff=313503540&oldid=313331110

All of the Spring census-designated place is in Harris County. There are areas in Montgomery County with Spring, TX addresses, but they aren't in the CDP, which is what the article is about. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:06, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
