Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Woman Hunt, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Ashley (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Talking to bots[edit]

NOTE TO THE READER: User Gregg L. DesElms, on his talk page, responded to a bot (as he can see, here, above, that Fylbercatulous does), and joked, "oy, look at me... now I'm talking to a bot", which caused the following exchange...

(talk page stalker) I am talking to a bot as well. I was actually happy to get a notice. No one else has stopped by for quite some time. ツ All the best, Fylbecatulous talk 11:26, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Indeed... the "talk" page can be a lonely place! One as fancy, dancy as yours, though, feels very inviting. It's the least that a "talk page stalker" like you could do, of course. [grin] Seriously, though... nice talk page.

Thank you for holding me to a high standard. You were right. I hope that you are doing well, which is not an idle sentiment. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:48, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Signature help as promised[edit]

Your old signature:
Fylbecatulous talk

Used colors: for your name and for your talk.

A current signature with those and your bolding should be coded as:
Fylbecatulous talk

Which will result in a 127 character long (7 character shorter) signature with an appearance of: Fylbecatulous talk

Compared to your previously 134 character long signature of: Fylbecatulous talk

Hope this helps! Happy editing! — Technical 13 (etc) 18:10, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

@Technical 13:. I am very grateful. Happy editing indeed. ツ All the best to you. Fylbecatulous talk 18:17, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Agony in the Garden

This is a remarcable picture of an Angel. Actually a very good one. I have read people describing angels looking like this ... strong, poweful, radiant and golden. (well not all, but some). Anyway nowhere near the putti-look. It should be in the article. Go into you room and let none ... and then ... Hafspajen (talk) 04:46, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Very nice. I am reminded of a saying: a battle may be lost, but the war has already been won. I sometimes feel that my angels are not quite so powerful... Fylbecatulous talk 18:23, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Oh, now. I now have to let you know that you are not quite right here. Smash on that door. Hafspajen (talk) 18:46, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Second thought. The Protestants are crazy. What does the Ortodox Church have all those angels, icons and Saints for? Hafspajen (talk) 19:40, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Hafspajen, We pray for the angels and the Saints to protect us and intercede before God on our behalf. The icons give us a visual image for reverence. My favourite icon of of the Archangel Michael, actually. Saint George is a good one too; the dragon slayer. There be dragons, you know... Fylbecatulous talk 01:50, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Fylbie, about removing "Word count", no big deal (although one is really not supposed to delete others' comments unless one is an administrator with a good reason). I use this "word count" device occasionally to voice my (slightly jocular) opinion that the discussion is getting overlong because certain people are laboring their points. But I'm just another 'user' — my comments have no official standing and may be (and often are) freely disregarded.

Please don't absent yourself from discussion on my account. Sorry if I offended you. Sca (talk) 14:48, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Sca, No I only removed my latest comments; I would never remove anothers. Your word count note still stands. I have not deleted it. Face-sad.svg I am actually quite obedient to rules on Wikipedia. Alas, I have certainly belaboured my point. Face-sad.svg I am not offended, be assured. This is just getting upsetting because now my note to you has been misread. I would never remove your word count note. (sigh.......) Fylbecatulous talk 15:00, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Oh, sorry for the confusion — I just realized what was going on by looking at the FP nom. Doh! I just didn't read your note carefully enough — a frequent failing of mine, alas.
Now, I too suggest you put your comments back. Sca (talk) 15:08, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. Hafspajen has done the good deed. ::: ツ Fylbecatulous talk 15:20, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Writing articles[edit]

Fylbecatulous, I hope you don't mind my sticking my nose in here, but I read what you said at the RfA about the process of getting articles accepted here, and I wonder whether you realize there is no requirement to use either the Article Wizard or AfC? Any registered editor can just create it. The New Page Patrollers are going to look it up and down, so I always advise people to not press Save until there's a clear statement of importance in the lede and at least one decent reference, preferably two. (Also in my experience, if you don't give it at least one category, you may edit conflict with someone dropping by to add categories one at a time.) But if it's a notable topic, I'd say go for it. It's at least as much fun here as on Simple, IMO :-) Maybe you knew all this, but just in case you didn't ... Yngvadottir (talk) 18:36, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Yngvadottir, please don't worry about coming to my talk page. Thanks for your encouragemnt. I actually engage in some New Page Patrol on en-wiki for tagging as an editor. So to me even that is a precarious undertaking to perhaps write an article and stress about acceptance or deletion, or deletion review...See English Wikipedia, to me, is fairly deletionist. Decidedly so, compared to Simple English. We actually still welcome new articles there, and we rarely delete anything except complete silliness or vandalism. We just shrug and say "okay this article has arrived in a total mess but it can be patched up with some loving care". I am actually gifted with the patroller rights there, so mostly, I tag very little for issues and instead attempt to do the work needed myself. As far as fun, Simple has its own prickly issues, but I really enjoy the chance to write content. I was a newsprint journalist once and young, so I know how to write for 5th - 8th grade level (10 years to 13 maybe), which is what newspapers attempt to achieve. Thanks again and happy to meet you. Fylbecatulous talk 16:47, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
That's a bit scary that you would see it that way. However, as a fairly extreme inclusionist (I've worked hard to save several articles and have undeleted and rewritten at least one, Tiddles), I can't say it's an entirely unjustified opinion. But I can only think of one article I've written that's been AfD'd, and it was kept. There's always a first time, of course. But there are still a horrifying number of red links. And you must be brave to have written for newspapers! Yngvadottir (talk) 17:02, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

I was honoured to see the blue duck on your user page, mate in mourning. Moar. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:15, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Gerda, 28bytes first introduced me to his fabulous bot that gave me calm behind-the-scenes work for many months. I still have the two Barnstars he awarded me up above on this talk page. What won my heart forever was the way he closed this discussion: Wikipedians who are not a wikipedian. I am still proudly a member of the redlinked category he left behind for us to be listed in. A true blue gentle admin. In solidarity - Fylbecatulous talk 23:07, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, and right now I am missing Hafspajen, for whom I placed the image of the lolcat with "I maded u a piksher", who is very much missed and I more than likely ping in vain. sigh....... Thank you again. Fylbecatulous talk 23:18, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
(ec) I am so happy he's back (28bytes). He was the first admin who's RfA I supported, so the first I ever asked for help, and always got it. - I am also proudly a member of a red category, and sad that Alan isn't. Did you see my top notice today: this user supports Mkativerata? The pic for Hafspajen actually was the trigger ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:21, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, your page is already on my watchlist from when you gave me the blue duck. ツ Fylbecatulous talk 23:28, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Then you saw that I just added Hafspajen back ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:37, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, and the words 'thank' you' alone do not express enough emotion, so please accept the feeling of gratitude, Gerda. Drmies said, in this latest drama trauma over the Featured Pictures candidates battlefield, that Hafspajen wears his heart on his sleeve. So do I. A bit emotionally overwhelmed, I just took an ice cream break for solace. :) This is an awesome shrine you are keeping for the fallen, despaired and mistreated and for those who have recovered and returned. Deep regards, Fylbecatulous talk 02:44, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. I wrote He was despised in 2012, and there's no end in sight. You saw "martyrdom", I guess? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:16, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Yes, Gerda ツ And I saw your link later on Haf's talk page in the encouragement section, too. Fylbecatulous talk 08:07, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

  • I received a Surreal today, for Kafka, - it certainly helps to have worked on Kafka to get over some of the arguments that seem surreal ;) - I said so after Teh Case, in other words. The No. 1 editor of Kafka would win a prize among the most mistreated easily, the one who named awesome wikipedians for the longest time, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:34, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

Please do not undo it again[edit]
