3rd party mods and April fools[edit]

Lots of real events happen in a companies history. Chances are somebody had a sandwich for lunch yesterday. Not all those events are notable enough to record in the history of a company. Unless there is something special about their april fools joke, its not really a notable or special event. There are probably hundreds of thousands (or likely millions) of sites that have an april fools joke every year. You'd need to demonstrate some kind of special coverage of theirs, perhaps it being included in a top X list of april fool jokes done by a reliable source, etc. As for the 3rd party mods, the guidelines on writing articles about software (unless its been changed) have stated that 3rd party mods shouldn't be listed in the article unless there is also some coverage of them. E.g. the company has sanctioned and given prominence to an individual mod, or the mod itself has been covered in someway by a reliable source. If you'd like to include any individual mod on the page you'd need to demonstrate that coverage. WP:NOT we're not a lot of things, that includes a home for trivia (WP:TRIVIA which covers the bit about the april fools joke, its not a significant even in the history of the company) but we're also not a guide for 3rd party mods for a product, or a link repository (which that section was),etc.--Crossmr (talk) 04:27, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
