BLP removal[edit]

Hi - you were quite right to remove that smear material from Patti Solis Doyle - thanks for the quick action. But just so you know, problem material should not be placed on the talk page either - WP:BLP calls for it to be removed from any place it appears, including talk pages, so I did that. Cheers. Not sure if this is where I should ask this but I was under the impression that registered users were not affected by IP block. The IP blocked is a fairly large companies LAN so I'm not surprised that their have been blocks to the IP. Anyways thanks for looking into this. Gordie (talk) 19:26, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On occasion, IP addresses can be "hardblocked" to affect any user from those addresses. This is usually only done in cases of severe abuse, which is why we're waiting on the blocking admin to comment. Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:02, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the info. Gordie (talk) 20:05, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Let me speak with the CheckUser who I issued this block on behalf of and get back to you. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have, or is causing. Tiptoety talk 20:12, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I spoke with a CheckUser and after a short discussion and review it is safe to say to you are not related to the users this IP block is intended for. As such I have granted you IP-block exempt, so you should be able to edit just fine. Tiptoety talk 23:17, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
