Commercial use of Image:Swan (Actor).jpg[edit]

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Swan (Actor).jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Swan (Actor).jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Swan (Actor).jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:10, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Bales College[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Olympic slam[edit]

Please do not capitalize slam. It conflicts with Wikipedia guidelines. Only the first word of a move and proper nouns are to be in caps. Thank you. Gavyn Sykes (talk) 01:00, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Please use "Show Preview" buttom[edit]

Regarding your edit(s) to Grand Theft Auto (series), it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Your edits to The Beatles article[edit]

I have reverted your good faith edits - you obviously did not notice the message in the edit box noting that changes to 'current' and 'past' members should be discussed on the article talkpage. To briefly recap, the band is still considered active since the living members and the families of the deceased ones are still controlling the activities of the group (authorising releases, making legal actions, etc.) and so the last line up is considered "current". There are swathes of discussion on this issue, if you feel like adding your comments, but presently the consensus remains as prior to your edits. LessHeard vanU (talk) 12:57, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Besides, the lineup is intended to avoid confusion as the two "former members" left the group before The Beatles became famous. Stu Sutcliffe left the group in 1961 and died in 1962. Pete Best was sacked in 1962 in favour of Ringo Starr. On the infobox, the Fab Four are listed as "members" in the infobox, not "current members" which the editing page shows. Minor edits[edit]

Please read Help:Minor edit. You are marking edits that aren't minor as minor edits. Sean.hoyland - talk 15:49, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Sean.hoyland - talk 06:35, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I'm an admin and I came by to respond to the discussion mentioned above. Sean.hoyland has a valid point - changes such as this one are not considered 'minor' here at Wikipedia. Minor changes are things which are completely trivial and do not affect the content in any way (eg - spelling corrections, etc). As with the case above, just because a change is "small" does not mean it is "minor". If you are ever in doubt, always leave the 'minor' button unchecked. Thanks! Manning (talk) 06:48, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

flags in biography infoboxes[edit]

Hi as per your addition to the Ed Milliband article I reverted it - we don't add flags in biography infoboxes as per WP:MOSBIO - thanks Off2riorob (talk) 19:34, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Incorrectly labeling edits as minor[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. NJZombie (talk) 06:49, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:'Superstar' Billy Graham.jpg[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:'Superstar' Billy Graham.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 19:50, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:John Smith MP Labour (UK) Leader.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. File source problem with File:Gory Guerrero as champion.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Gory Guerrero as champion.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Armbrust, B.Ed. May 2013[edit]

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Jason Scott Lee. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:05, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Abolhassan Banisadr. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Please stop hiding "Qajar dynasty" in a piped link that looks like Persia. Binksternet (talk) 13:27, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

You know a royal dynasty is a family line of kings, not a place. Stop putting dynasties into geographic place names as piped links. Binksternet (talk) 13:32, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Again, the Pahlavi dynasty was not a place, it was a royal succession. Stop putting the dynasty as birthplace. Binksternet (talk) 01:19, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Hassan Rouhani[edit]

Hassan Rouhani is a member of Combatant Clergy Association (ref:"Members of Combatant Clergy Association". ) since 1976. Association of Combatant Clerics is a different association and Rouhani was never a member of. Please do not revert unless there is a reference for that. Mojtaba Salimi (talk) 20:07, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

Mojtaba Salimi has requested administrative intervention to stop you from editing the Rouhani article the way you've been doing. I'm an administrator, but I'm not acting as one in this situation — I'm simply here to let you know about Mojtaba's request, since he didn't tell you. You can find the request at WP:ANI#Hassan_Rouhani; it's a discussion, and you're free to give your point of view and your reasons why you disagree with Mojtaba. July 2013[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Same issue as two months ago. The Pahlavi dynasty was a royal family line, not a country or place or geopolitical entity. Binksternet (talk) 02:01, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 6[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Shia Muslims, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iranian monarchy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

In fact, you should remove any you find. Please read WP:INFOBOXFLAG. It should explain the rationale behind it. The exception for sporting events such as World Cups is limited to the winning teams, not the host nations. Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:54, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Iranian presidential election, 2013 may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
