[edit] Denmark
Hello, and thanks for your recent contributions to the Denmark article. I have (perhaps temporarily) reverted your edits, not because there was anything wrong with them, but because I've started a discussion on the talkpage about whether info on Greenland and the Faroe Islands should be included in that infobox. I would very much recommend you to participate in this discussion. And please don't worry, your additions to the article can be easily reinstated if consensus is reached that the infobox should contain info on the entire Rigsfællesskabet. [edit] +977
A tag has been placed on +977, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. LittleOldMe 09:52, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. LittleOldMe 10:10, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Millennium Force (Left Behind)
A tag has been placed on Millennium Force (Left Behind) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. robwingfield «T•C» 11:20, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Democratic socialism and social democracy
Hi. I noticed you're adding 'Democratic socialism and social democracy' in many articles. Do you have any sources for these additions, our are you supposing that any social democratic party is 'democratic socialist and social democratic'? And if always using the the terms together, are there any difference between the two? --Soman (talk) 21:07, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi, the reason i have been adding Democratic socialism and social democracy in many articles is because ideologically i believe that most parties that define themselves to be democratic Socialist are social democratic as well and vice versa because most socialist parties will try to remove the injustices of capitalism and reform it but not remove it and support a mixed economy, that is social democracy, but also most also support a welfare state and an evolutionary, electoral, democratic path towards Socialism and/or a fairer society which is democratic socialism, in contrast to a revolutionary path. most Centre-left parties wether they define themselves as social democrats or democratic socialists believe in these basic things and also if you look at the two ideologies in depth they are very closely intertwined with each other and it is my belief that both ideologies are so closely related that they should be used synonymously with each other. as for the parties i have added these two ideologies to i have read their policies over and over and have deemed them to adhere to these two idologies and as you know it is difficult to provide a reference that states explicitly that they adhere to these two ideologies.

[edit] Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

[edit] positions
generally its not a good idea to add left/right positionings in the 'ideology' section of political party infoboxes. These definitions are generally difficult to deal with in an npov way. For example, what's the source that the Socialist People's Party (Denmark) would be center-left? In Danish politics they are generally seen as 'venstrefløj' (left wing). And dubbing the Portuguese Communist Party is a bit complicated, the far left definition in southern Europe has traditionally been the parties to the left of the mainstream communist parties. --Soman (talk) 20:06, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Are you looking for a project you can really sink your teeth into?
I noticed you are a member of the Geography WikiProject. I thought you might be interested in this...
A huge collaboration is underway, in which participants all work on 247 pages at a time. That's right, there are 247 pages in the set, and we're all working on all of them! We kind of cheat, by using advanced wikitools like AWB and Linky that let you load or switch between pages quickly (and other tricks).
We're building a geography reference aid for Wikipedia covering every country of the world. Organized as topic outlines (a type of structured list), these pages present maps, pictures, basic information on each country, and links to essential articles about each country on Wikipedia. We have created 247 drafts (one for every country of the world), 28 of which have been completed enough that they've been moved to article space already (so people can make use of them, even though they're still under construction). The rest are getting pretty close.
Each of these pages in turn form part of Wikipedia's outline of knowledge, and when completed, this branch of the outline will be the best general navigation aid for browsing country-related information on Wikipedia.
We're looking for users who love geography, and who use or would like to start using:
- WP:AWB, or
- Firefox, with the Linky add-on, or
- similar tools and/or other tricks
...to edit many pages fast.
While some of us work on completing one country page at a time, most of the work we do entails completing a particular knowledge item on all of the pages. For example, filling in the population figures for each country, or creating redirects to "bluelink" standard link names used throughout the set, or placing a specific type of map on each page, etc. etc.
Working in this way is kind of like traveling around the world, since you get to visit the page of each country of the world to work on it.
Tasks range from the simple (filling in blanks, search/replace, copy/paste) to the more complex (Customizing sections to each country, Google searches of Wikipedia to find relevant articles, etc.).
This project is very important, because information is only useful if you can find it, and these pages show you what's here on Wikipedia without you having to guess at what to type in a search box.
To give you an idea of what these pages will look like when complete, here are the most complete ones so far:
- Topic outline of France
- Topic outline of Iceland
- Topic outline of Japan
- Topic outline of Thailand
- Topic outline of Taiwan
If you are interested in joining in on the fun, please drop me a note.
Sincerely,
The Transhumanist 03:20, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Geography WikiProject update
We've been steadily developing the set of country outlines, and they are getting close to being ready to move to article space. There's over two hundred of them, so when the move takes place it will be a pretty big event.
Penubag has been hard at work creating the images for awards for this project, in preparation for a collaborative contest we will be hosting that is expected to attract new editors to the team.
In the meantime, I and a few others have been working on 3 fronts:
- On the outlines in article space to complete them so they will be good examples for editors working on the rest of the set.
- Adding or correcting other data (fixing redlinks, filling in blanks, etc.) in the overall set. This is the main type of work participants in "the contest" will be doing. The reason we're doing some of this now is to get a feel for it, to develop the fastest methods for each type of task.
- Improving the overall design and implenting changes on all 247 pages, whether in article space or not.
The main thing that needs to be done to the outlines so that they can be moved to article space is correct and complete the government branches sections, many of which include incorrect information that was placed there as temporary data by a template when these pages were created (in order to match the most countries and cut down on the work load).
We're looking for editors who love to work on lots of pages fast, who use or would like to use advanced tools like AWB and Linky. Most of the tasks entail working on a specific item on all of the pages in the set.
We're having a blast.
If you'd like to join in on the fun, drop me a note.

[edit] Image copyright problem with File:400 logo lista.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:400 logo lista.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] ICMLPO and Hoxhaism
Hi. Please take note that the parties participating in ICMLPO don't describe themselves as Hoxhaist. Most of them consider Hoxha as a great revolutionar, most of them critise Maoism but they don't use the term "Hoxhaism" as far as I know. Thanks, Magioladitis (talk) 00:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I agree with Magioladitis on this. The term 'Hoxhaism' is a label that is quite different from say Trotskyism and Maoism, and should be avoided for classifications of parties at wikipedia. Also, its good to use references, I feel sometimes descriptions of parties get somewhat arbitrary. --Soman (talk) 00:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, 'ICMPLO (U&S)' is a name not used outside of wikipedia, the tag (Unity and Struggle) is added for wiki disambiguation purposes. Its better to just link International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations. --Soman (talk) 00:31, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Just interested...
I'm intrigued as to why you do not like the Strict Baptists, made clear by your misrepresentation of them on Wikipedia? Navy Tulips (talk) 10:56, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Response
Please accept my apologies if it was not you who made some of the more derrogatory comments on the Strict baptist page. Wikipedia informed me that some of the anonymous posts were made from the same IP address as 'gr8opinionater', therefore I presumed it was you. Sorry if not.
As a Christian who currently attends a Strict Baptist chapel, I am concerned that the webpage should at least not represent us inaccurately. Navy Tulips (talk) 07:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Request for help
I thought it might be a good idea to run a contest or two through the Countries WikiProject to attract editors to improve country coverage on Wikipedia, especially the country outlines.
I noticed you are a member of the WikiProject, and was wondering if you could help.
I've posted a message at Countries WikiProject talk page to get discussion started on what the awards programs should be and how they should be run.
Your ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

[edit] Far-right userboxes
Hi Gr8. I notice that you created a number of userboxes representing far-right poltical positions, even though this is completely contrary to your own political views, judging by your userpage. I'm a bit confused as to why you would choose to do this. Maybe you are just obsessed with userboxes.
I wonder if you considered at the time that this may have consitituted doing a sort of minor marketing job on behalf of the far-right, and that maybe it would be a good thing in the name of anti-fascism if you deleted them.
'Scuse me for poking my nose in, and have a nice day whether or not you decide to pay any attention to me. --FormerIP (talk) 22:54, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- PS I notice from your comment when someone else suggested the Nazi userbox should be deleted that you are of the view that people should have to opportunity to express themselves no matter how awful their views are.
- But do you have to actively help them? In Real Life, would it be acceptable to stack chairs at their meetings in the name of "supporting free speech". I'm confused. But, like I say, have a nice day. --FormerIP (talk) 23:12, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Infoboxes
Hi, a number of issues: I really think it makes no sense linking those colors everywhere (see history pages!), also adding http is pointless, as websites don't use it anymore or just add it automatically.
As for PSOE, just adding there again Democratic socialism was not of much use, as I think someone had already argued at your talk. Regards, Miacek and his crime-fighting dog (woof!) 19:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] re: Liberal Democratic Party (Japan)
Hi, Seasons Greetings! I've noticed your edit on line 13, in the Infobox ideology description for LDP. ideology = Conservatism,statism,right-wing populism to ideology = Conservatism,Liberal conservatism
Though I am not certain of the current status quo for evaluating LDP's characteristics with populism in accurate political context, I am quite sure it was one of its strategic flavors it had emphasized from time to time. So perhaps, populism could be included in ideology=, or maybe under political position? Could you give me your opinion on this? Thank you.

[edit] File permission problem with File:Lutheran Church in Bolivia.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Lutheran Church in Bolivia.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en
wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en
wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:51, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Image names
Hi. I noticed when you uploaded File:CPBlogo.png, you replaced the logo of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting with that of the Communist Party of Britain. I see that both are abbreviated "CPB". This is just a reminder be careful about those file names and watch that you don't replace a file unless you mean to. Worry not because no harm was done. I pulled the previous version from the history and re-uploaded it. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 18:01, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit] July 2010
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Labour Party (UK). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.
If you check it out you will see a talk page discussion on ideology. You are now edit warring without talking part in that talk page discussion. The 3rr rule covers such a position, even if you don't revert more than once in any 24 hour period. --Snowded TALK 15:25, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion nomination of New Communist Party of Yugoslavia
A tag has been placed on New Communist Party of Yugoslavia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Vanjagenije (talk) 13:40, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey there! I see you're a fellow member of WP:Catholicism. I've been on a crusade for a while to weed out pages for non-notable traditionalist/schismatic organizations and bishops, as many of these amount to poorly sourced vanity pages. I've run into one which looks like a likely candidate for the ax: Istituto_Mater_Boni_Consilii. Unfortunately, I don't read Italian, so I can't really figure out whether there are enough independent sources out there to merit keeping it. Do you know someone who does, who might be willing to look into this? Thanks for your help! TallNapoleon (talk) 08:49, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] MfD nomination of User:Gr8opinionater/Userboxes/Strasserist
User:Gr8opinionater/Userboxes/Strasserist, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Gr8opinionater/Userboxes/Strasserist and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Gr8opinionater/Userboxes/Strasserist during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Badger Drink (talk) 18:25, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Just want to add, on a personal non-templated level, that I really don't think you created this userbox in bad faith or anything, and I've said as much in the MfD nomination itself. Badger Drink (talk) 20:25, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Liverpool F.C. wiki
Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki --Coffeeclub213 (talk) 17:14, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] The Wagner article is in need of some help
We're in a bit of a pickle in the Wagner discussion page. The issues concerns Social class (sociology) and the phrase supposedly common Germanic past and has now been dismissed by some editors as inconsequential.
At the end of the Wagner discussion page (under Edit War solution topic) there issome suggested courses of action that I was requested to list, from my point of view. Please help. Just take fast look. Thank you
-
- In his own era he furthermore provided the newly emerged middle class with a medium to transfer its familial and political conflicts into a myth of supposedly common Germanic past.
- (In the introduction, removed as non consequential)
-
- Richard Wagner was born into a lower middle class family
- (In the Biography chapter removed as non consequential)
