[edit] Someone assumed personal attacks
I'm going to agree that scripts such as the bots and Igloo will need to be updated to include Huggle remark messages. However, the summary you used when undoing edits to warning 1 was regarded as a personal attack. Be careful with edit summaries. mechamind90 01:51, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] the deleted "jimbo whales" deleted user/talk page
just curious, can i please see the talk/user page of the user jimbo whales (LOL) you deleted? i was randomly searching users with unusual names out of curiousity. i entered this name and it came up.Thebestofall007 (talk) 18:42, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- I do not have access to the text of deleted pages. You will need to ask an administrator. Based on the deletion summary, however, it was something along the lines of "{{usernameblock}}". Gurch (talk) 19:20, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Your userpage
It appears to be blank, but the page history says the blank version is 141,816 bytes in size (and another blank one before that was 731,640 bytes)? I don't know what happened unless it's not actually blank when you look at it. If you really want it blank, it should be able to say "empty" for file size.
I also notice there's no banner up above saying "This page is 141 kilobytes long". This really confuses me. mechamind90 22:34, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- Bleep. --Closedmouth (talk) 07:47, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- It it filled with an invisible, zero-width Unicode control character.
- Look at any long page you like, and you'll notice there is no "This page is X kilobytes long" on any of them. This is because the message was removed from MediaWiki eight months ago. Apparently, nobody here has noticed this yet. Gurch (talk) 08:04, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Does it count if you noticed it but were too lazy to see why? Killiondude (talk) 08:08, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- there I redesigned it are you happy now Gurch (talk) 20:15, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Chris Liberator
I'm surprised that Chris Liberator's page was deleted. He was a moderately important pioneer for the acid techno and squat party scene around London in the early 90s. The label he helped found, Stay Up Forever, continues to produce popular techno tracks. Is there any way to have his page reinstated?--Jmgendron (talk) 00:20, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't have access to the text of deleted pages; you will need to ask an administrator. However, the page was deleted for lacking any assertion of importance or significance, so it most likely didn't mention the information about him that you provided above. You may have an easier time just writing a new article about him. As long as you find at least one reliable source for that information -- e.g. a mention in a newspaper or online news website -- and link that from the article, it should be OK. [edit] Using Huggle for experiments
My name is Diederik (dvanliere @ wikimedia dot org) and I am the quantitative team lead for the Summer of Research Fellows of the Wikimedia Foundation (see also: http://blog.wikimedia.org/2011/06/01/summerofresearchannouncement/). A large portion of our research focuses on understanding what factors are driving newbie editors away.
The Fellows have developed three new templates that are more personalized and encouraging in tone and we would like to see the impact of these templates on editor retention. I would like to ask your support for the following: can Huggle bundle these new templates for a couple of days so we can quickly run our experiment and collect enough data?
I understand if you need more information and I am more than happy to hook you up with one of the fellows.
Best regards, Diederik — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drdee (talk • contribs) 18:04, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
