SMB3 Miyamoto image

Sure, at least, for now. Tempest115 (talk) 22:58, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

No problem. Tempest115 (talk) 23:02, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
So, since the article review is over... Tempest115 (talk) 03:31, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, but I don't think I'll be able to adequately talk about this until mid-day tomorrow at the earliest. Tempest115 (talk) 01:52, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
That's okay. Tempest115 (talk) 02:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Looks like a resolution was reached without me. Tempest115 (talk) 00:10, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

SMB 3 Japanese sources

I may be wrong, but aren't all sources on English Wikipedia supposed to be in English? You recently changed a reference to a Japanese reference. I have no intention of fighting about this, it was just my understanding that sources should be English sources and I could be wrong. I love your hard work and dedication to the article. Thank you. Belasted (talk) 04:17, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Will you adopt me?

Ha, sorry but could you adopt me? I've been around for a few months and made over 1200 edits, but I still need a mentor. First of all I need help just properly adding myself to the Wikipedia:Editor_review. Please look here at Wikipedia:Editor_review/Belasted and tell me why it's not going on the page. Besides that, I want to improve (which is why I want a review) and would like to have someone to talk to about editing issues from time to time. Thank you. Belasted (talk) 02:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts coded

Hi! I don't know if you know, but the Kingdom Hearts featured topic might be demoted in eleven days if Kingdom Hearts coded isn't made GA. Do you think that article can really pass GA? It's difficult to find sources for a Japan exclusive game. Megata Sanshiro (talk) 12:50, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Peer Review?

Hi Guy. I've been wondering around the Peer Review board lately and have noticed your informative reviews. I was wondering if you might consider reviewing an article of my own. I'll even drop by the SMB3 article while I'm at it. Here's the link if your interested. Cheers, -- Noj r (talk) 06:56, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

That's fine, take your time. Good luck at FAC. -- Noj r (talk) 01:36, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Hold off Shock 2 for as long as you need and concentrate on your FAC. The PR can wait : ) -- Noj r (talk) 00:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey Guyinblack25; I don't know whether you had seen my response at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Archive 63#Machinima, but I think that it's fairly safe to go ahead and begin the merge process for WikiProject Machinima; the only other major recent contributor to the project, Drat (talk · contribs), didn't have major objections on my talk page (see permalink). The only non-trivial aspect that I really would like to see preserved is the separate assessment categories (as is done for MILHIST and Film task forces); I for one still find this useful, and I would prefer not to maintain a list myself, if at all possible. :) — TKD::Talk 16:15, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Sure; no rush. I find myself migrating back and forth between areas as well. The point of the reminder was that you could go ahead and begin the process whenever you wanted. — TKD::Talk 18:47, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Guyinblack25, I am reviewing your article, Pong, for GA and have left a few comments at Talk:Pong/GA1. Basically, I really like the article and think it is very well done. I will check it through more carefully. Regards, —Mattisse (Talk) 03:24, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello, my adopter

I seem to have problems with things like these. I want to nominate this article for deletion. The last time I did this, I did it wrong (but the article still got deleted thanks to the help of someone else). Anyway, can you give me some sort of step by step as to how to do it? I'm not computer illiterate, but there's so much to know here, and I only do this part time. Thank you! Belasted (talk) 06:02, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks, I do what I can. MrKIA11 (talk) 17:00, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

If you felt that you had to withdraw the article from FAC because of my edits, I am truly sorry. —Mattisse (Talk) 03:48, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Robotron

Don't know if you saw the response on my talk page, found a few things for you. Also, if you could take a look at the Ron Gordon thread there as well and weigh in, it'd be appreciated. Indrian and I are trying to get to the bottom of his actual status at Atari after a new contributor here (wikinizerwoman) seems to be on a campaign for him (her only contributions have been in regards to this, and I have big hunch she's somehow related to him). It'd fall in line with you wanting to move on to the Atari Inc. article next anyways. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 04:01, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

FAC

FAC or not, SMB3 is much better thanks to you, and that makes it worth it. The video game article I'm most interested in currently is EarthBound. I think I've helped it quite a bit, but it's still so amateurish. Wanna help, or just look at it and say "Hey, this part is not good for this reason, etc."? Thanks. Belasted (talk) 02:35, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I have been working in another SNK character, but I couldnt find info about conception. I asked some friends from the SNK wikia but they didnt have. The image used in the infobox comes from the most current game featuring him, but I think it does not illustrate him very well. Any idea of which of these images could be a good replacement? A copyedit (from you if possible) would sure be good before a GA nom but I wanted to know about these issues. Thanks.Tintor2 (talk) 01:11, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. There is something I wanted to ask you. When you make a reception section, do you divide the reviews into paragraphs each of them talking about different parts of the game? For example, in Mortal Kombat: Deception (an article I have been working in) should the one paragraph of reception talk about fights and the other about the soundtracks?Tintor2 (talk) 19:36, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

I expanded some sections of the article as well as added more refs. I tried adding more reviewers to the reception template but that would mean expanding the reception section which is already a bit long. Any comment on the article of what could be improved? Thanks.Tintor2 (talk) 13:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

About the reception section, should all the reviews of the reviews template be used in the section?Tintor2 (talk) 15:25, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

In The King of Fighters '95 it happened that the infobox became really long with the release dates. Could that part link with the release section of the article.Tintor2 (talk) 22:47, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Another question, should this article be named KOF: Maximum Impact 2 or The King of Fighters 2006. It is known as 2006 in USA, but as Maximum Impact 2 in other parts of the world.Tintor2 (talk) 00:54, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

If I want to source that a character appeared in a certain game (nothing else) what source should be used? The website of the game or I directly source the game?Tintor2 (talk) 01:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Is all the content from Mobygames reliable?Tintor2 (talk) 21:52, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Shock 2 Peer Review

Wow! I didn't expect such a detailed review of the article. I'll get on those suggestions soon; Ive been busy lately. Also, I agree with Belasted, FAC or not, I think the SMB3 article looks great. Cheers guy, -- Noj r (talk) 02:10, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I got your PR comments all done. Some suggestions have been checked because they could not be resolved or I decided not to implement them. If you would like to share some input on them, that would be great, but of course is not required. You have already done more than enough. Thanks again! -- Noj r (talk) 00:52, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

VG portal

Had been trying to find a story that I could match up to a free use image, before old Jason Della Rocca fell off the end of the news page. - X201 (talk) 15:57, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Shoot 'em up

I had concluded that FA wasn't really feasible with the shoot 'em article mainly because of the narrow range of sources, so of course additional print sources would be nice, especially if they are general articles ("history of", "best of", "guide to" etc) rather than specific reviews. Currently the article relies very heavily on only two or three sources (one of them has 19 citations) with the rest put together piecemeal from a load of reviews, mainly from IGN and Gamespot. Also having plumbed the depths of the sources I have the article is still significantly shorter than 4X (the only genre FA) and much shorter than fighting game, another article we cleaned up recently. The reason for this, I think, is that the genre was big in the 80s, early 90s (and it's hard to find info on that period) and is currently popular mainly in Japan, so again more information in general might help. At the moment I'm trying to get a wider range of genre articles up to GA rather than thinking about FA (I have two more in GAN at the moment; with fighting game probably ready also), but I may go back to it at some point (I'm a bit sick of reading it over and over haha). Of course feel free to add anything you can. bridies (talk) 19:43, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Just wanted to echo bridies's concerns... it's been a tough article to work on, and bridies deserves all the credit in the world for taking it this far. I'd like to go for FA status, but I acknowledge it may be impossible. We'd really appreciate whatever print sources you can dig up, and a peer review to bring the prose up a notch would be helpful too. I know you're already spread pretty thin, though, and fighting game still needs some work to get up to GA status. We really appreciate the peer review, BTW. Randomran (talk) 21:21, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Thanks a lot. Let me know what I can do to help. Should I put together a formal peer review request for shoot 'em up? Or will you just stop by the talk page? Randomran (talk) 22:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

About adding images

Can you give me a brief lesson on the ins and outs of adding images to articles? I see images for people that look horrible or articles that don't even have images for these people, but I'm too scared to do anything about it because I know nothing about fair use and all that stuff. So I would like a link to where Wikipedia talks about this as well as your own input as to what problems may arise, what best to do, avoid, etc. Thank you. Belasted (talk) 04:27, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S. On your user page, where it says "Super Mario Bros. 3: At FAC", the FAC is red, so you might want to change that. Belasted (talk) 04:30, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi,

I noticed your congrats to [[User: Bridies]] regarding his GA of Shoot 'em up, and wondered if you might want to contribute to the GAN of First-person shooter, which I am reviewing. It's quite a good article, and with a bit of work it could be great. Cheers, --  Chzz  ►  10:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Re. your reply; I guess I thought, because you'd sent that congrats, you might be interested. And yes, any help would of course be welcome. I think the article is developing pretty well. I'm doing the GA, but not very hands-on with it; I'm working on about 20 other things. Anyway...thanks for getting back to me. It was just a passing thought when I noticed that congrats banner on Bridies page. --  Chzz  ►  15:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

SM64DS box art caption

Hello, Guyinblack. You recently reverted an edit of mine concerning the box art caption on the Super Mario 64 DS page.

I understand that not everyone who will read that article is already familiar with the characters, but, as you pointed out, the "depicting the four main characters: (from left to right) Wario, Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi" bit is redundant. It's redundant because all four characters' names are wikilinked in the "Plot" section, so anyone who wants clarification on them can easily receive it. I checked, and all four of those characters' pages has a picture of them right at the top for easy identification. Also, virtually all video game pages have a simple "North American box art", "Japanese box art" or something similar for the caption of their main picture, and I don't see why this one should be different. Thanks. -Sesu Prime (talk) 11:19, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, okay. Thanks for taking the time to fully explain your stance. I am still sort-of new to Wikipedia editing (I created my user name only about 40 days ago), so any advice from a more experienced editor is always appreciated. Again, thanks for talking this out with me. -Sesu Prime (talk) 05:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Searching for images on Google

I noticed that you wrote "I spent over an hour searching into the 30th page on google images for an overworld screen shot" on the SMB3 talk page. If you use Firefox, I highly recommend the Cooliris extension for searching Google images. Just thought I'd mention it. Lumaga (talk) 03:39, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Final Fantasy FAR notification

I have nominated Final Fantasy for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 06:45, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Regarding ventus

the character ven has his full name "ventus" though never officially revealed. so how did you guys find a kanji for ventus? if you guys havent found one, i suggest we remove the name ventus until its revealed.Haseo445 (talk) 15:35, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

very well then, hope things go easy for a while. i cant imagine how much fan editing will happen when the game actually comes out.Haseo445 (talk) 16:59, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

We love Mario

This is not a big deal at all. But I was thinking about this: The Clouds and Bushes are the same. Do you think there is any place in Wikipedia to mention this info? Or is it already mentioned somewhere? (I'm not talking about adding the comic strip, but just the fact that they did use the same graphics for the two things.) Thanks. Belasted (talk) 04:24, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

"@!#?@!"

Hi Guy, I've scanned in the Edge article: [1][2][3][4]. Let me know when you've downloaded them so I can remove them. Hope that helps! Marasmusine (talk) 09:56, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I was thinking on bringing the above article to FAC. Could you comment at its peer review? Thanks a bunch, — sephiroth bcr (converse) 05:17, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi!

I was suggested to cooperate with you on the F-ZERO translation by User:Full Metal Falcon. I'm willing to help you, if you do not mind. So ask me anything. Regards. Oda Mari (talk) 15:43, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
