Images[edit]

All of your recent images have been tagged as missing proper source and copyright information and will be deleted in one week. If the images are under a free license then they should explicitly state so or if there is a claim of fair use it needs to be explicitly stated. Unfortunatly as it says on the image upload page "Most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not appropriate for uploading to Wikipedia.. Please read Wikipedia:Image use policy for more information. Please let me know if you hav eany questions. --Martyman-(talk) 02:00, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you've uploaded Image:Zg831.jpg and I thought I should warn you about your mistake. You shouldn't upload images with such names, because they're hard to track and we can't really know what is it about without actually looking at it. We suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the image itself. Thanks, and good editing! SoothingR 00:37, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:200614731490.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:200614731490.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Bleach (28).jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bleach (28).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vizards in Bleach[edit]

The article is far too small to make it worth creating an article separate from Characters in Bleach. The Bounts in Bleach article is substantially larger, and has a greater deal of information. Being bold is not the same thing as being stubborn. Posting this proposal for a major edit on Talk:Characters in Bleach would have been more appropiate, although it would have been shot down in any case. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 22:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Number is irrelevant. The deciding matter is that there is much more material to write upon on the Bounts in Bleach page, considering that the arc has concluded, each person has shown their unique abilities, some had character development, and so on and such forth. Each Vizard character has shown a few tidbits of their personality, but nothing aside from that. Minor details at best. As for how to add summaries, read List of Naruto chapters. Finally, if you're complaining about the amount of reverting Someguy and I do, you should notice that the edits we are reverting are not constructive, and if we are reverting your edits, yours are likely not constructive as well. Perhaps you should read the warnings given whenever we do revert edits. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 02:17, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As a final note, before you post on my talk page again, sign your post with four tildes (~~~~). I'm sick of adding {{unsigned}} to all your posts. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 02:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MGH 1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MGH 1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Exequias leader[edit]

By your logic, anyone who has a name deserves a mention. Wikipedia:Notability would like to say otherwise, Hexapodus being the perfect example. Should he remain on the list solely because he has a name, despite being shown on screen for a mere minute and having only one sentence to his description (excluding the purifaction note)? Of course not, yet we have him anyway. As for the arrancar, I realize there are a lot. And I realize we can't list them all, mostly because having "Unamed arrancar 1," "Unamed arrancar 2," etc. is just a horrible idea, despite the fact some have more than enough information to be added (like the unamed arrancar who devoured the soul of Yui). However, since the Exequias leader can be refered to as such as if it were his name, it's very as to say "The Exequias leader..." This is similar to what happaned with the Akatsuki leader. For the longest time, he was unamed, and we refered to him as simply the leader. // DecaimientoPoético 16:30, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, please use edit summaries. Especially for major actions.
Secondly, TTN is a good editor, but he is no Jimbo Wales. His opinions are not law.
Finally, TTN said the summaries should be shorted and refactored into a "description of their overall role that is no longer than three paragraphs". Wanton deletion of the plot summaries is a bad idea. Replace, don't delete. Not without clear consensus, at least. Speedy deletion of Gays only. school[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gays only. school, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD g1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. OSbornarf 04:30, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Trimeresurus medoensis[edit]

Regarding your edits to Trimeresurus medoensis, although I'm sure you meant well, I'm afraid it was necessary to undo them because they were inaccurate and/or unreferenced. First, I have several books that describe this species as being found in the southeastern part of Tibet, as opposed to specifically in the Motuo region there. Second, you can't say it is endemic to this area (let alone to Motuo), since the species is also found in northeastern India and Northern Myanmar (an endemic species is found in only one place and nowhere else). As for someone in China suggesting that it be listed as an endangered species there, such a statement would belong in a separate "Conservation status" section and needs a reference. (PS -- Please answer here, as I've temporarily added your talk page to my watchlist). --Jwinius (talk) 22:59, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gloydius[edit]

Hi Hartebeest! I saw that you found the common name "Asiatic Pit Vipers" for the genus Gloydius. Where did you get that name? Do you have a good reference for it? I've removed it for now, but if you can produce a good reference, we'll put it back. You see, I've looking for a common name for this genus in the scientific literature for over a year now, but without any luck. I guess the problem is that the genus was not recognized by most until recently, at which point many of the species already had well-established but very different common names. It may be that Hoge and Romano-Hoge included a common name for the genus when they first described it in their 1981 paper, but I've yet to get my hands on a copy (this stuff is often hard to get hold of without access to an academic library). (PS -- Please answer here, as I've temporarily added your talk page to my watchlist). --Jwinius (talk) 12:05, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We Get Higher[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article We Get Higher, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of We Get Higher. —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 14:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

recent mis-categorizations[edit]

Both category:prehistoric rabbits and category:rabbits and hares are poor choices for categories. Much better would be category:prehistoric lagomorphs and category:lagomorphs. I will adjust the miscategorizations.... - UtherSRG (talk) 06:32, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hartebeest, thanks for your interest in the above article but your recent edit which removed the Diprotodont category was not helpful as this is an important group of animals. I have put it back. I also notice that while I was writing this you have just removed the prehistoric marsupial category and added a marsupial lions, which you just created. Categories are meant to be a useful method for organising and locating groups of related articles. A marsupial lion category is too specific and the Marsupial lion redirect already fulfills this function. The prehistoric marsupial category is another important grouping of animals and should also be included in this article. I'm going to revert these edits. If you feel that this is incorrect, please discuss your proposed changes at Talk:Thylacoleonidae before making any more edits. Thanks, Secret Squïrrel 03:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Hartebeest;

I redirected Dwarf allosaur to a section at Species of Allosaurus to take advantage of already having a fair amount of detail for this animal on hand. Also, the dinosaur article writers have avoided making articles for unnamed specimens, except for a couple of troodontids (one of which will be getting a name in the near future). I think you did a good job with it, though. J. Spencer (talk) 04:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
