Proposed deletion of Semih Aydilek[edit]

Uhm, I PRODED the article because it does not meet wikipedia's standards for an article. I see it has now been nominated for deletion via AfD. Discussion can continue there. Hubschrauber729 (talk) 00:52, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and I removed the PROD tag because someone had already tried to contest the deletion, only to be blocked for "vandalism". Beyond that, I don't have a strong opinion on the article, except to note that the player may well easily meet whichever guidelines by (or before) the end of this season, which I can't help but think makes could make this whole thing a waste of time. --H.G. 06:38, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Honest mistake[edit]

It was an honest mistake, and I was wrong. The article Of Mice and Men has been wracked by vandalism by anonymous users, after about ten or so edits; I failed to see that the vandalize edit was on the left side rather than the right. ChyranandChloe (talk) 02:14, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. H.G. 07:22, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New editor[edit]

Hello Henry Godric. I'm not sure whether Jeffreymoviechen is Cooksi, although he could be. Cooksi focuses almost solely on entering categories that are inappropriate. Even if this editor isn't Cooksi his editing is a bit suspect though as, although he joined recently he seems to know his way around wikipedia pretty well. He is adding all sorts of POV and unsourced statements. He is editing only horror film articles. He is not responding to items on his talk page. I can make a couple of recommendations. If his edits continue to be problematic keep posting requests and warnings on his talk page. Then you can report him to WP:AIV or start a new Sockpuppet case which would be labeled Cooksi (2nd) - or something along those lines. I haven't filed many SSP cases but the instructions are fairly straightforward if a bit time consuming. You might also try going directly to User:Rodhullandemu since he has been the blocking admin in both cases. Some admins don't like corners being cut and others don't mind. I have not had much interaction with this admin so I don't know what the reaction will be. I hope that this is of some help and apologize if it hasn't. Cheers and happy editing. Thanks for getting back to me. They stopped doing much categorisation after Gogo Dodo gave his input (I'm saying that without having checked any of this morning's edits, mind); but there's the same lack of responsiveness via talk. Rodhullandemu has been notified and says he'll keep an eye on things. I guess I'll do the same for the time being. Cheers. H.G. 07:12, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pioneer disambig[edit]

Why do you feel that "A pioneer is a person or an organisation who is one of the first to do something."?--mrg3105 (comms) ♠♣ 07:09, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at a dictionary. H.G. 07:11, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, get a better dictionary? And please don't use a threatening tone again--mrg3105 (comms) ♠♣ 07:35, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with this threatening tone you perceive. Perhaps your subconscious is beginning to recognise the disruptive nature of your editing? H.G. 07:52, 20 September 2008 (UTC) Apologies, that wasn't called for. H.G. 08:43, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MERLIN[edit]

Are You A Fan Of The New TV Show MERLIN On BBC One If So A New Wikia Has Just Started On www.merlin.wikia.com and it desperatly needs pages editing and adminastrators so if you would like to edit or be a part of the community start editing and drop me a message on the user name Michael Downey. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.175.146 (talk) 17:17, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's a bit early to class myself as a fan, though I thought last night's episode was pretty good. I'll take a look at the Wiki at some point but, to be honest, I'm not sure I'll have much time to spare for yet another editing project. H.G. 17:44, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow! Mike's going to everybody who has updated merlin pages. Lol! I mean i am staff in all but hardly anythings been done yet and it needs so much work :P Goku1st (talk)# —Preceding undated comment was added at 06:54, 24 September 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Hi, Thanks for your helpful edit. The page should be searched for any other anomalies as I have the feeling a few people are positioning themselves for an AfD here. Katzmik (talk) 16:05, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I'd hope it doesn't come to AfD. It seems to me that the names Brouwer and Hilbert are often prominent in framing/relating the Frog-mouse war, with good reason. H.G. 16:44, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editing my User page.[edit]

I'm politely telling you once to not edit my user page. I'm surprised that you would commit such vandalism as it's probably beneath someone as esteemed as you think you are.

I hope that this folly was a simple error in judgment on your part, and will not be repeated. Anything you need to write to me can be entered on my Talk Page (as you did a few days ago, but may have already forgotten).

If this continues to be a problem I will have no choice but to seek outside help in future dealings with you.

Thank you.--Feddx (talk) 17:54, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos[edit]

...for removing some of the inappropriate and largely self-serving blog postings from some of the comics articles. Good eye and good work! --Tenebrae (talk) 03:38, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Although looking now at the above posting, I guess I'd be remiss not to concur that editing others' user pages is a no-no, though it certainly can happens accidentally. In any event, welcome and happy Wiki'ing. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:42, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
