Images[edit]

I take it I'm doing something wrong by putting those new images up, considering you changed them back? Do they have to be that certain type of image???

Katrina picture[edit]

Upload it as a new file, as there is no need to replace the existing one. I don't see why it was changed because it was fine the way it was for the last five years. The new one looks awful, imo. Potapych (talk) 01:05, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

JMA vs. JTWC[edit]

Remember JTWC is completely and utterly unofficial for the WPAC even though they named typhoons back in the day as such the JMA pressure should always be used.Jason Rees (talk) 23:51, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Storm of the month
'Typhoon Fanapi' is Storm of the Month

Typhoon Fanapi approaching Taiwan

Early on September 14, the JMA reported that a tropical depression had formed east of Taiwan. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center soon designated the depression as 12W with PAGASA naming it Inday shortly thereafter. Later on the same day, the tropical depression was upgraded to a tropical storm and was officially given the name Fanapi by the JMA. On September 16, the storm further intensified into a severe tropical storm. That same day, the JMA further upgraded it into a typhoon. Fanapi turned west and intensified into a category 1 typhoon that night. On the following day, the storm further intensified into a category 2 typhoon. On September 18, the storm further intensified to a Category 3 typhoon and moved straight into Taiwan. It made landfall in Hualien County at 8:40 a.m. (10.40am AEST) on September 19, with winds of 162 kilometres (101 mi) and across the island at a speed of 20km/h. Shortly after its landfall, it moved south and again turned east and rapidly weakened into a Severe Tropical Storm. It had a Category 1 equivalent strength at that time. At 06:00 PM (Local time), the typhoon went back into the ocean. Post Storm Analysis proved that the system stayed on land for 9 hours approximately. The storm made its second landfall at Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou, Fujian province, China, at a Category 1 Typhoon intensity. The Storm caused a large scale damage to Taiwan. In the early hours of September 21, Fanapi weakened into a tropical depression over Guangdong province, China. On Septemner 22, Fanapi dissipated completely.

Shary image[edit]

Hey there, I was wondering if you could upload a MODIS real-time image from the NASA rapid response system for me. I really have no idea how do to it, lol. There's like... two separate images; I've seen you merge them before? Here are the links 1 2 Even just the 1st one would be great. Take your time and thanks a lot in advance! Hylian Auree (talk) 08:26, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you! Hylian Auree (talk) 01:57, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I really liked the Shary image result. I was wondering if you could do one for Tomas too? 12 Once again, it would be much appreciated! Hylian Auree (talk) 02:27, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Bermuda Climate[edit]

Odile impact[edit]

Heya, I found several websites in Spanish with detailed info concerning the impact of, and preparations prior to Odile. You could use Google Translate to get an idea of what they're saying; if it's too complicated, I know a good enough amount of Spanish to clarify. Thought it'd might help you out! Hylian Auree (talk) 16:51, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Odile move[edit]

Jason Rees (talk · contribs) has requested a move of your sandbox to Tropical Storm Odile (2008). There is no need to clog up the article history with all your edits. It would be much better if you simply copy&paste your text from your sandbox into the main article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:32, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Isnt that a breach of the GFDL though? especially as another person has edited the sandbox.Jason Rees (talk) 15:01, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
HS, I'd recommend doing what I did for Hurricane Jimena (2009) or did I violate the GFDL on that article, too. YE Tropical Cyclone 22:45, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tropical Storm Barbara (2013), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mph (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Andrea image[edit]

Because I had uploaded the gallery version beforehand just for that purpose. The file you uploaded is a duplicate, but one from the WMS which hasn't been corrected for radiance and projection like the gallery version has. I would prefer the gallery version for it is easier to view cloud details and has better color. Supportstorm (talk) 05:41, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Re: Image[edit]

File didn't exist and I couldn't find it when searching on the commons. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 23:43, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Sock Puppet Investigation[edit]

Because I feel like we're just going to annoy the Commons admins if we keep that discussion over there, let's bring it to the relevant wiki. You can file an SPI for Earth200 as being Earth100's sock, but Earth100 is already indefinitely banned, and the circumstantial evidence is strong that the account actually is Earth100's. I simply don't see an SPI ending in a green light for a Check User run. There's simply no need for it, as it won't change the ban either way. If it is his sock, he's still indef'd; if it's not his sock, he's still indef'd. Inks.LWC (talk) 20:56, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Calm down[edit]

I uploaded my image first and was going to add it to the article, but had to figure out the new editor, and that threw me off. I didn't intentionally replace your image. Supportstorm (talk) 19:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

By the way could you crop your image closer to the storm and lighten it up a smidgen. Supportstorm (talk) 19:55, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry then. I thought it was another "better image" edit wars but I guess it was not intentional. By the way I replied on your talk page. Thanks, - HurricaneSpin (Talk) 20:12, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
