Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. GA templating[edit]

Hi, I'm looking at Talk:1896 Atlantic hurricane season, trying to figure out what happened. Is it possible you did a {{subst:GA|...}}? That leaves a rather messy pile of code at the top of the page. Would it be okay if I undid the "subst:" in order to put in the missing topic= parameter? — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:52, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you added the topic, but left the GA template as substituted. I've undone the substitution and supplied the missing oldid parameter. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:46, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah oops, thanks for fixing that. I'll be more careful with future GA reviews. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:31, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ocean City and YMCA[edit]

RE: The YMCA and Ocean City, the YMCA changed its corporate name by 2001 to "Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA" as the organization considers itself now to serve the entirety of Cape May County, which includes Ocean City. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:23, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

YMCA is a non-governmental federation and not a business. Not all entities have the equally same reach: for example there's a hospital in Cape May Courthouse so the hospitals in Vineland wouldn't be automatically relevant to Ocean City. Also, there's a post office that's in Ocean City so the one in Vineland doesn't matter, etc.

I'm aware de facto Vineland is a bit of a distance from Ocean City... it's simply that particular YMCA says it serves Cape May County and there aren't any Y's actually in Cape May County. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:34, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed there are for-profit gyms in Cape May County. The Ys act not only as gyms but also as camping operators (the camp associated with the Vineland Y, Camp Merrywood, is in Pittsgrove ) and youth organizations. I would consider it line with say the Boy Scouts of America or the Girl Scouts of America or the American Red Cross. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Created a draft for the Interborough Express[edit]

I saw your comment on Talk:Proposed expansion of the New York City Subway about creating a draft for IBX so I did just that. Not sure it is quite ready for the mainspace yet but here it is: Draft:Interborough Express. Esolo5002 (talk) 02:20, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Esolo5002: - this is pretty good! I’m not sure how much more can be done as of yet… maybe a map? Either way, thanks for making that, I enjoyed the read. Part of me feels like it should be published to bring some attention to the line. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 16:10, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have reassessed this as GA. A class requires two impartial reviews. Best. Schierbecker (talk) 05:15, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
