Ways to improve List of Middlesex cricket captains[edit]

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Huw Nathan, thanks for creating List of Middlesex cricket captains!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add your references.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Hi Huw, can you please respond to the above? It has 'external links' which means 'suggestions for further reading' but doesn't indicate what the sources were. If they are the same, the heading can just be changed to reflect that they are the sources. Please respond. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 07:30, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Huw, I'm trying to help solve this issue, can you please respond? WP:Communication is required on Wikipedia and WP:V is at the heart of what we do. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 08:45, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Huw, I've been trying to talk to you for over a month. Please be aware that communicating with editors who raise concerns is a matter of policy, as outlined at WP:CONDUCT and WP:DISPUTE. The concern I've highlighted above is the same fro other articles you've created, such as Richard Goatley, which is more concerning because it's an unreferenced or unclearly referenced biography of a living person. I have tried repeatedly to engage you in conversation, but if you ignore this message also, I will move the discussion to WP:ANI in the hope you will engage there. I am just trying to help - please respond. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 15:02, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
How can I assist you? All entries have been fully researched. Huw Nathan 20:43, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Huw, I ticked this page off for New Page Patrol, which meant it could be indexed by search engines like Google. I then tried to get the sources clarified so it would be an article which meets all the standards. Over six weeks you have continued to edit but not respond. It has been pointed out to you that communication is a matter of policy, that clear sources are important too. You have also continued to add small pieces of unverified material to other articles, e.g. [1] and have not addressed the orignal issue, of creating an article where its sources are not clear.

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Boleyn (talk) 18:39, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Alright, you've been given plenty of time to show us that you're willing or able to communicate, and you've chosen to disappear rather than work with us at all. Therefore, I am blocking your account indefinitely. Please address the above messages as well as your communications going forward if you would like to continue editing here. Thanks, Swarm 20:42, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This article was moved to its current title following a move discussion - see Talk:Arthur_Wellesley, Earl of Mornington#Requested move 4 August 2017. Reverting the outcome of that discussion requires a further discussion, not a unilateral page move. Nthep (talk) 18:56, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Hugh Goldie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/culture-obituaries/theatre-obituaries/8302165/Hugh-Goldie.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
