Wiki-meetup Nashville on Labor Day weekend![edit]

Wiki-meetup Nashville will be September 5–6 (Labor Day weekend) 2009. No conference rooms or libraries. Food, beer and conversation, maybe even a show. So come either day or both! --EdwardsBot (talk) 00:10, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lavender Mafia[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Copperweld[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Copperweld, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Copperweld and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Morenooso (talk) 18:06, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Zeta Tauri[edit]

Your addition to Zeta Tauri has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Note: This addition was pretty old, so you may not have been aware of the issue at the time. I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thank you. Regards, RJH (talk) 20:35, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pete Townshend, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Timothy White (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Wladimir Klitschko , but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 00:19, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

I've cited a reliable source. Thanks. Iamvered (talk) 01:32, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

I took that photograph myself with my own camera. It was indeed entered that way when I put it up. But I have largely ceased contributing to Wikipedia, mostly because of the draconian issues that many users have with documentation of copyrights on photos. I won't reupload; I simply don't care. You've taken away from the article, congratulations. Iamvered (talk) 14:22, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2014[edit]

Hi Iamvered. In case you are not aware, there is an upcoming campaign to improve coverage of LGBT-related topics on Wikipedia, culminating with an international edit-a-thon on June 21. See Wiki Loves Pride 2014 for more information. If you are interested, you might consider creating a page for a major city (or cities!) near you, with a list of LGBT-related articles that need to be created or improved. This would be a tremendous help to Wikipedia and coverage of LGBT culture and history. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if you have any questions! --Another Believer (Talk) 15:52, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
