Image copyright problem with Image:Age of Empires 2 Screenshot.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Age of Empires 2 Screenshot.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 07:40, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Age of Empires 2 Screenshot.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Age of Empires 2 Screesnshot.jpg. The copy called Image:Age of Empires 2 Screesnshot.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. License tagging for Image:Montycoon screenshot.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Montycoon screenshot.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:06, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kings campaign.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kings campaign.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Your RfA[edit]

Hey. I saw you listed yourself to become an admin over at RfA. Firstly, I would like to extend thanks to you on behalf of the community for your willingness to help the community. It really is appriciated. However, your RfA was malformed, meaning that it was incorrectly listed. Firstly, all nominations should be placed at the top of the page, not the bottom. Further, your RfA was incomplete, with no answers to the mandatory questions that go along with RfA and no place for supports/opposes/neutrals. For further information on requesting adminship and the proper way to list yourself for it, see WP:GRFA. It has a lot of useful information. Besides that, best of luck with the request and happy editing, SorryGuy  Talk  03:43, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I should remind you that, thanks for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. However, you need to fill out every single question and form before you transclude, otherwise, your RfA won't count! Good luck, and you may want to consider taking this test. This should test to see whether you are ready to be one. BoL 04:04, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/nominate for proper formatting. Thanks. — DarkFalls talk 04:49, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have withdrawn your RfA because it does not appear that it has any chance of passing at this time. Please obtain more experience, listen to the comments at the request, and continue your excellent work. Happy editing! --Agüeybaná 19:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I agree. I've reviewed your sysop test, and what kind of an answer is "revert if I feel like it?" BoL 19:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see that your RFA did not succeed, I just wanted to say to study policy more before you go again and hope to see that your next RFA goes well. Oysterguitarist 20:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Age of Empires 2 Screenshot.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Age of Empires 2 Screenshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:43, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spin 'n' Say controversy[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Spin 'n' Say controversy, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. It seems that you duplicated your question into the June 8 section, which caused some confusion because the two copies then fell out of sync. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Marpar6char.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marpar6char.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bumping on the Reference Desk[edit]

You have shown a habit of bumping your posts on the reference desk. That is not allowed as it changes the date of the post by moving it lower. This is not a message board. It is a reference desk. You ask for a reference and the users will attempt to find one. You appear to be using it as a message board where you demand answers to any problem you may be having and attack users with vulgarities and threats if you don't get the answer you want. Unlike most websites, abusive and improper usage of Wikipedia will easily cause your account to be blocked from editing. -- kainaw 13:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your conduct is again under discussion at Wikipedia talk:Reference desk#Thread bumping. The clear consensus is that one should not bump threads down the page to seek competitive advantage for your question, over all other questions. Such action is extremely impolite. Should you continue to bump your threads, please be assured that action will be taken against you; and in any event, bump edits will be reverted on sight. I encourage you to join in the discussion should you have a different opinion.
I note, in looking at some of your contributions, your swearing at people seeking to provide assistance to you. That is a really reprehensible & inexcusable thing to do, and I'd ask you not, ever, to repeat it. --Tagishsimon (talk) 17:38, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Copying and pasting a thread from an older date on the Reference Desk to a newer date on the Reference Desk is "bumping." You have been warned about bumping multiple times. Pretending not to understand will not help. If you disagree with this policy, see Wikipedia talk:Reference desk#Thread bumping. -- kainaw 22:58, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

replying to this.
On Wikipedia? I'm not sure that there is a place on Wikipedia to voice your opinions on Nintendo products. Outside of Wikipedia there's lots of forums where you can discuss this.

--http://forums.directionalpad.com/
--http://forums.somethingawful.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=44 (Incredibly, this forum actually requires money to join, but they somehow have zillions of members!)
There are just examples, I don't really frequent many forums so I can't vouch for their quality, etc. Hope this helps. APL (talk) 13:11, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Montycoon screenshot.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Montycoon screenshot.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
