Welcome!

UK[edit]

Please stop edit warring and discuss your change on the UK talk page. Edit warring will not get you anywhere. The consensus system needs to be respected and the stable edit is to use country. If you revert again without discussing the issue I will report you for disruptive editing and you will be be blocked.MITH 14:54, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

May 2009[edit]

Information.svg Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to San Diego appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. MITH 14:51, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Information.svg Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Gallery of sovereign-state flags. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. MITH 19:00, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome ... and concern.[edit]

Hiya. I see you are getting to know your way around Wikipedia reasonably well. I hope you stay, and make good contributions. Please note, however, that there are Wikipedia:Five pillars for 'rules' here.

I have to say I have a concern for the current content of your User page, and in particular its external links apparently to your own appearances on YouTube etc.. This seems to go against the spirit of WP:NOTMYSPACE, in particular the following extract:

"[re] Personal web pages: Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they may be used only to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your resume, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account. The focus of user pages should not be social networking, but rather providing a foundation for effective collaboration. Humorous pages that refer to Wikipedia in some way may be created in an appropriate namespace, however."

Do you think you should reconsider whether the content of your user page is all appropriate?

If you ever have any queries, please either type {{helpme}} here, followed by your query, or ask me a question on my Talk page. Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 15:04, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Edit Summaries[edit]

Oh - and just one more thing (!), please be sure to leave an appropriate Help:Edit summary, whenever you edit further articles. Thanks, Trafford09 (talk) 15:09, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

May 2009[edit]

(ctd.)

Information.svg Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Hello Zepp.
I notice from an earlier version of this Talk page that you've actually been editing on the en-wiwipedia (& ie.wiwipedia?) for over seven months. You should by now have heeded other editors' warnings, such as those about using Edit Summaries.

Apology[edit]

OK, this isn't my finest hour! I've dropped by to apologise for reverting you at Scotland - I lost track of what was the consensus and what wasn't. You had it right.

Edit summaries, please[edit]

Information.svg Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to England. Thank you. --Jza84 |  Talk  21:16, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Again, this is a plea for you to provide an edit summary when changing articles. By not providing legitimate justification or a description of the changes, your edits may be reverted without debate. --Jza84 |  Talk  02:33, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Saw VI Soundtrack Promo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Saw VI Soundtrack Promo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 03:05, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Arthur Guinness[edit]

Information.svg Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please don't delete sourced comments and insert unsourced POV edits as you did in the Arthur Guinness article. Maloney[edit]

I would just like to say that's an awesome surname. Also, please leave edit summaries. Thanks. --Misortie (talk) 17:07, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Wikipedians of African descent[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Wikipedians of African descent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Fair use rationale for File:Victory of the Daleks.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Victory of the Daleks.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla (talk) 02:26, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedian in Residence at the National Library of Scotland[edit]

I'm just dropping you a quick note about a new Wikipedian in Residence job that's opened up at the National Library of Scotland. There're more details at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scotland#Wikimedian in Residence at the National Library of Scotland. Richard Symonds (WMUK) (talk) 15:29, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
